Nice tutorial. Maybe you should have included that 8GiB of ram allocation can only be allocated if your computer have a minimum of 8GiB and so recommande never add more than half of your computer ram for your computer performance but nice tutorial.

Great tutorial. Had to do a little trouble shooting based on which modpacks I wanted to play. If youre gonna run an older modpack you'll have to download an older version of java.

It's open source so if the launcher had something sketchy, everyone could see it
Should note that we installed Java 17 in this video. Old versions of minecraft require Java 8. So if you play old modpacks make sure to get that version instead or in addition to 17

Hello! Just discovered your channel with the launcher comparison video. Was wondering which launcher between Prism Launcher and ATLauncher supports commandline operations, since I was curious about doing a complete commandline workflow for all of my stuff. I do know that PolyMC has one such functionality, but I never touched it further after you informed about its situation in that launcher comparison video.

Does deleting folders through prims launcher also delete them in file explorer, or do I have to delete folders in file explorer separately

When I get to add my account I get Microsoft or Mojave user authentication ended with a network error. Nothing wrong with my wifi if that’s what’s it saying. If anyone can tell me when I’m doing wrong great and thanks but I’ll try poly and see how that goes

Ok, but how do I go about using the prism launcher to add client-side mods onto my existing worlds? and share worlds between instances? My whole point was to install the performance and QOL mods with a launcher so I can more easily keep them updated while still using the worlds I've had for years, and swap between instances for different mod lists (multiplayer, recording, etc.).
I guess what I was hoping to do was use a whole different program to run minecraft with mods but still use all my existing worlds and resource packs and configs, just for client-side mods, and at any point be able to launch the vanilla launcher without having to copy and paste all my worlds between folders any time I did.
If that's possible.
I know this is really stupid to ask but, are you supposed to launch the actual Minecraft launcher or open up Minecraft through the Prism Launcher? Everytime I open up the actual Minecraft Launcher I don't have any of the mods I downloaded. (Im also new to modding so I don't know how to work anything and I'm genuinely really confused on what to do.)

Go to settings > Java > click auto detect. Then select version 8. Make sure you have it installed beforehand

which launcher is best for performance improvement in your opinion/experience?
It depends on the mods you use and your computer specs mostly. The launcher will make little difference unless you leave it open while the game is running. I still recommend the ATLauncher. But you can't really go wrong with the prism launcher

@@willraya1791 now that prism has updated it's mostly just that ATLauncher is easier to use and it installs Java for you

Yo , I have both integrated and dedicated graphics. I want Minecraft to use my integrated graphics as it is better ( intel HD 530> gt 610) . When I run the game , it uses gt 610 . If I disable dedicated graphics, it doesn't run , shows error "GLFW opengl error , graphics driver doesn't appear to support opengl". I pasted "opengl32" file in my java bin folder . Now the game is running, but it runs without any GPU without low performance. How can I use my integrated graphics? drivers are up to date , IGPU supports the opengl version required

PolyMC, MultiMC and PrismLauncher are all "premium" launchers. If you want to play Cracked Minecraft you want to use PollyMC (double L)

Sorry for the late reply but use whatever you like. I personally just switched to prism launcher because its easier to group and organize instances but you have to download and manage java yourself so it makes it a little hard to recommend. if you just want ease of use then use atlauncher. if not then go with prism
