The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast. The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning “Dune.”
The big-screen epic continues the adaptation of Frank Herbert’s acclaimed bestseller Dune with returning and new stars, including Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet (“Wonka,” “Call Me by Your Name”), Zendaya (“Spider-Man: No Way Home,” “Malcolm & Marie,” “Euphoria”), Rebecca Ferguson (“Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning”), Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (“Avengers: End Game,” “Milk”), Oscar nominee Austin Butler (“Elvis,” “Once Upon A Time…In Hollywood”), Oscar nominee Florence Pugh (“Black Widow,” “Little Women”), Dave Bautista (the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films, “Thor: Love and Thunder”), Oscar winner Christopher Walken (“The Deer Hunter,” “Hairspray”), Léa Seydoux (the “James Bond” franchise and “Crimes of the Future”), Souheila Yacoub (“The Braves,” “Climax”), with Stellan Skarsgård (the “Mamma Mia!” films, “Avengers: Age of Ultron”), with Oscar nominee Charlotte Rampling (“45 Years,” “Assassin’s Creed”), and Oscar winner Javier Bardem (“No Country for Old Men,” “Being the Ricardos”).
“Dune: Part Two” will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.
Villeneuve directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jon Spaihts based on Herbert’s novel. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe and Patrick McCormick. The executive producers are Joshua Grode, Herbert W. Gains, Jon Spaihts, Thomas Tull, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, with Kevin J. Anderson serving as creative consultant.
Villeneuve is again collaborating with his “Dune” creatives: Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser; Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette; Oscar-winning editor Joe Walker; Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert; Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West. Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer is again on hand to create the score.

Stilgar stole every scene he's in. Javier did an excellent job in this
Thank god, I didn't come across this before actually watching the movie. This is pne of the coolest scenes to watch first time on a big screen.
INDEEEEED.
All the fremen cheering on Paul as he completed his rite of passage… actual fucking chills. I’m so hyped for this film
i think its something we as a society compleatly lost these days. dafaq everyones living for their own, nobody gives a shit we dont belong anywhere. theres noone to care so much about you belonging to some group, you dont pass any rites that would make you belong to a group or society, or to celebrate adulthood/manhood/whatever. Theres no sense that what you do deeply affects others and everyone cares about others for the benefit of the group/society. Idk maybe the only place like that would be military and fremen in some way lived the life of military aswell..
@@GoreTheSummoner Because at least in America, we were taught that kind of communal thinking was "evil" and "socialist"....that the ideal was 'Rugged Individualism', get what you can and F'k the next person
The feeling of belonging. They are your people. They have your back and you have theirs. No matter what against any enemy or problem. We see it here we have it. When things get really bad we come together. I hope that never dies.
Imagine a dude comes back and people say he's the second coming of jesus and all the sudden, he actually starts walking on water. I'd be howling too

For anyone wondering what those openings are when Paul plants his hooks. Worms have scales/ scabs that they keep close when under the sand. When a freemen hooks a worm they pull the plate exposing the worms sensitivity organs to the sand so the worm stays above ground to prevent sand from entering the wound. That's why when Paul hooks to the side of the worm he ends up on top of it. The worm turned his exposed side the farthest from the sand
you telling me a giant sand worm have thin skin ?
@@lufasumafalu5069 Thick skin/shell/scales just liftable exterior to a sensitive (not think still) interior. Like having your toenails ripped off shit hurts but not life threatening
@@bmebuzz8718 how can the thick skin coverng the body of a worm , so easily lifed by small hooks ??? and there's holes under the thick skins too ? like vent hole ?
Think of it like a scab. if someone was to lift a scab and sand got it irritating the wound the worm naturally keeps that part of its body away from the sand scraping its body @@lufasumafalu5069

Yeah, so according to my parents, this is how they had to GO TO SCHOOL every day. Except it was in snow.

This was one of the best sci-fi movies I have ever seen.
I got my money’s worth watching this in IMAX. It was absolutely incredible. Will watch again this weekend.
These close-up shots of the Fremens cheering felt really genuine. Add the incredible music, and it gave me goosebumps!
I am so hyped for this. Followed Villeneuve since I was first floored by Les Incendies and to see his progress is astounding.
Read the series several times, Never did I think when I read it the first time back in the 70s I would be able to see it on the big screen like this,. So far I have been blown away from Villeneuve's adaptation, Not only Dune but his other movies as well. I would love to hear from the Herbert family what they think. Would have LOVED to be on set to see Herbert's and Villeneuve's vision come to life. This is beyond epic and I believe that in my lifetime will be the best I will see. I love being able to go "there" for a few hours at the theater. Everyone's "there" is different. This is art in it's truest form. An idea, a blank canvas and an artist. Truly in awe of the first movie and cant wait for Dune Part 2 and if Dune Messiah is made,
Brian Herbert already said that this is by far the best adaptation of his father's work, and as far as I read he's very satisfied with Villeneuve's movies. Not impressed tbh, this is madness.
Loved this movie to a million pieces a million times over, there and back again. Pure masterpiece.
WOW! 3:25 to 3:45 is an EPIC shot, and I love that Paul stayed focused. I'm absolutely buzzing to see this 🤩
Saw this last night at IMAX in Sydney !!! Blew the audiences minds 🐛
Whaaaaaaaa?! How?!
You probably watched the first part. They re-release the movie.
@@vongoethe111because they re-release dune part one with a sneak Peak with this sneak peak of dune 2 at the end of the movie.
@@vongoethe111 dune re release and the sneak peak was at the end 🔥
Saw this on IMAX at the Smithonian Annex Udvar Theater in the Old Dominion, USA.
The screen was *TALL* and the sound system was _on point!_ and loud and (shockingly) quiet at times.
Great follow up to a nice warm up that was Dune Part One.
Now to see on the wide screen with a quality Dolby Sound system.
- Not since Interstellar, have I *seen* a movie stress a sound system like this!
- the Giant worms are not dragons, they are under ground rockets in the sand and beyond!
I went to a Dolby Atmos theatre to watch this film; the audio when the sand worm comes out of the sand is so impressively immersive, I mean seriously wow.
seeing this scene specifically in IMAX was incredible. i was so hyped!
3:34 - I love the sound of the worm approaching, like the sound of a rocket engine. It suggests enormous power.
her face with fear and happiness for him
I've read the books and watched previous Dune movie attempts. Dune: Part One was by far the greatest adaptation. I've been waiting for Dune Two!
part 2 is al lot better, and I mean ALOT
Me and the Fremen are not so different. They like desert I like dessert!
Think you may need your parents permission to see the movie. You didn’t think that was funny…did you😑

Congrats on a successful opening week, definitely worth watching in the cinema.
I'm hyped for part 3.
I wish they would've had him start reciting the Bene Gesserit Litany Against Fear which then got drowned out by the roar of the approaching worm
that's not on the book
Photography, sound and a soundtrack. I keep watching this scene over and over.
The sound of that thump is soooo loud in imax
We are blessed that there still cinematic masterpieces like this
Good effects, the sound, exotic places, etc....
Cant wait to see the council scene again, so many epic moment in this movie.
Congrats Denis! 🎉
I cannot wait for this movie! Already got my tickets ❤️🎉
Chills just chills to the bones
This is the moment we've been waiting for. Paul finally gets put to the test. He conquered his fears, now he must strive to be the unified leader.
He nailed that part. The first time I ever read anything from "Dune" was reading this scene in Analog Magazine when it serialized an annotated version of the novel. It was mind-blowing. .
I don't remember the last time I got actual chills from watching a film but this film and this scene did it for me. This could go down as one of the greatest sequels in cinema history
Have not been to the Theaters for YEARS but definetly going for Dune and One Love.So excited for DUNE ❤
The last time I was in the theatres was for Dune Part 1. I will gladly return for Part 2
Haven't had the urge to watch a movie in a while, this movie is going to break that streak
I don't go to see movies in a theater. It expensive. I wait for them to be free on cable. The last time I went to the movies was over 8 to 10 years ago. I already purchased my tickets for March 1. This movie is worth spending the cash. I want the theater experience
broke my streak of 1 year
Already bought my tickets. Can't wait
4:49 that sound effect gives me goosebumps holy
Just finished this movie, every second of it is worth it, I'm so excited for the next part that I might just buy the books.
when he take the glasses
The expression on Chani when she sees Paul riding the worm makes one leap for joy with her. What great acting and filming!
I'm sorry but no her acting is terrible and I hated how it kept cutting back to her, she's a very poor actor the pure elation that's supposed to be felt in this moment and she looks like a kid that was just offered ice cream
I thought it was her O face...lol.@@PodreyJenkin138
@@PodreyJenkin138 I agree. It keeps falling flat. I like her as a person. The acting talent isn’t there.
@@twilightfades_7I'd agree her acting could have been better in Dune, but she was incredible in Euphoria.
I have watched this trailer at least a dozen times!
Epic. Let's do it.
I love the blue nezhoni scarf Chani sported...so this scene is after the birth of Leto 1 ETA: Nevermind...sigh, after seeing the review spoiler, nevermind me.
A spoilery reminder:
Leto II was born at the end of Dune Messiah novel.... and he wasn't their firstborn😢...
@@zvimurI think they meant Leto II the 1st (Paul was vry uncreative naming his kids)
@@simonlouw7361 Ohhhh..... got it.
@@simonlouw7361 However, didn't Paul master the riding pretty early?
@@simonlouw7361 sigh, just watched Part II. The stress on the mouthwatering visuals was at the expense of some story elements.
I haven't been to the movies in over 8 years. I already bought my tickets. Yes, this is the movie I want the whole theater experience. Wow, the last time I went to the movies, I paid twenty dollars for 2 tickets, it cost me forty with a senior discount
lucky I didn't see this before watching the movie in imax, the reveal in the theatre was waaay better than accidentally getting a spoiler through this
Gave me chills at Imax
Is there a little flash of the battle of sietch Tabr in there? Looks like a huge fight. Cannot wait for this movie.
Chills.
Usul has called a big one!
Again,……it is the legend……….

So fkn hyped got tickets today for 7pm with the fam let’s goooo
That was breath taking
That was AWESOME!!!!
Definitely this film is going to win atleast 3 Oscars
I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!
When Paul runs down the dune towards the work he has no eye protection from - but in the next shot he has eye protection. Is this a mistake or did I miss something? Lived through a few sandstorms and the lack of eye wear was the first thing that stuck me when he went down the dune…
3:54 if you pause this video , he seems like wears some kind of helmet like head gear , maybe this is his eyewear 😄
Eh, maybe. Those kinds of errors happen in movies all the time, usually during the editing process.
No no no I actually figured this out, so I thought he was missing eye gear too but he actually has it, you can see when he's talking to stilgar, it's clear until he gets blasted with sand and covered in sand which then changes how it looks but it gives the impression that there's a inconsistency
Missed opportunity to represent scale; like riding 100ft waves
This scene was epic in IMAX

Chills. Absolutely incredible movie.
i feel like i've watched almost whole movie with these teasers
Yeah studios have been going way overboard with marketing in the past few years. Like one, MAYBE two, minute-long solid teasers will do. Let the films speak for themselves. Tired of seeing the best parts before I get to see the movie itself
Nope, you haven’t. So much more!!!
As someone who knows how the film will play out, I can safely say you haven’t seen anything yet.
so uhhh, when did he put his goggles on? Lol
Zimmer really is the goat composer
Holy fuck the music is insane
La experiencia del sonido en el cine es unica
Already saw it twice absolutely stunning, amazing, music fantastic and it goes on and on .....
Nice special effects, but a scarf is not a stillsuit.
L'icône du cinéma de cette année fera sûrement la fierté de tous ceux qui aiment les beaux-arts
Those of who thought where the hell is eyewear he get , then pause the video at 3:54 , he is indeed wears some kind of helmet like eyegear 😅😅
Best scene of the movie!
amazing! omg
OK that’s bad ass.
This is definitely 100% not imax aspect ratio.
✨CHILLS✨
Where’s the heath and safety? Goggles at least…
Well worth the $18 (with Geezer discount). A definite improvement on Dune I which I enjoyed. Saw Dune II tonight (Feb 25th) at an AMC IMAX premiere outside of Cincinnati. I'm 70, collected and read SciFi in the 70s-80s, ran record and book stores same time period and saw a lot of movies, etc in that time period, less and less thereafter. Almost never now. Most recent was for the sonically/visually restored 1984 concert film classic, "Stop Making Sense". Experiencing it in a theater, perfection. Before that, DUNE I, at the end of its run in an almost (by then) empty theater. Loved it. DUNE II even better, lots. Overall: Powerful, engrossing, eerie (2nd half "better" by far in some respects), at times mesmerizing, dark eerie, with plenty of "action", and more. The two main characters (and Paul's mother) seemed much more comfortable and alive in their roles, tighter writing (95% or so), there's definitely something here for most everyone and I'll be going back at least twice more during $5 matinees. Don't worry about reading or not reading the books. Personally, trying to compare is absurd and just takes away from both forms, and that goes for most all film adaptations. If you want to have a good idea of what's going on, what went on before, learn about the power groups, etc., just watch some of the videos on a good DUNE channel. I caught up and learned a ton on FilmComicsExplained over the last few weeks. I wasn't planning on going tonight but since I go alone, there were still a couple great single seats available. BTW, I was also pleasantly surprised at no audience drama. No phone idiots, nothing, and there was applause (well earned) at the end. Yay! Can't wait for III, IV, and V....
When release dune 2 please Tell me
Uhh.. how do you get off the sandworm ??
They stop at 64 street at worm stop 😂 and you'll use a ladder😂
Just my question too !
Ask Frank Herbert himself😂
when did he put the goggles on? 😕
If I weep during this film, it will not be for what happens. But it will be for what happens after, narrative-wise.
Tell me
Read the book
Stricken by terrible purpose
Part 3 is going to be a very hard sell.
