Its cool and all to use the D-Pad, but I prefer the joystick because air movement is more reliable with it imo. I struggled with dash attacks too, play with your deadzones and It might feel better.
I feel like this game could benefit from an analogue mode. With it, you can perform dash attacks and pass through thin platforms just by tapping the joystick instead of needing to double tap it, similar to how it works in Smash. Right now, Dexter's Lab is one of my least favorite stages because the platforms can be very finicky to maneuver around, and I think an analogue mode could help alleviate that.
As a Jake Main I'm probably fine without keyboard lol. other mains arguably could use it but it's probably easier to have it all on one thing DUDE YOU GOT ME KILLED IN BLOONS
So some advice as a D pad player. You need to get separate dpad buttons to mod your controller with so misinputs dont happen. And you need to learn how to thumb roll so that you dont have to pick up your thumb and place it down again, its much faster than even joy stick movement by far
Try to muscle memory yourself into tossing a grenade before youstart jabbing. Been using the jabs to juggle grenades and its really good. Adds distance tomortys jab, and depending of timing, you can detonate it and get a kill off them pretty early. Amd you can detonate them earlier if you think the end combos will whiff Its completely changed my morty game even against top tiers.
Ive been using it for 2 weeks now, i mess with the precision of it, ive tried boxx for mvs but i did noy like it as much for mvs as much as i like it for smash

The difference between keyboard amd controller is definitely noticeable.
The sheer movement speed needed to keep up is insane.

yeah doing the jab combo into a grenade is pretty safe and can catch ppl unawares. i only picked it up recently and its a nice addition to neutral
