The G20 3 Series is a fantastically capable executive saloon car that in my eyes really does set a benchmark for a 'driver focused' executive saloon. The 330i would appear to offer all the performance you would need day-to-day, which made me wonder, do you actually need anything more?

Had mine for 12months now, Dream drive, no complaints, A Joy to drive
That's great to hear, its a fantastic car. Hope you continue to enjoy it!
Sheer driving pleasure. They live up to their promises
Do you pay the luxury car tax?
Car tax £150
I heard the road noise does bugging even they put 2 layer in the glass window? How's is your experience so far?
In my country Indonesia they just put harman kardon in 2021 minor facelift. I don't know about lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, etc
Got a G20 330i M sport Xdrive Touring with Innovation package. All around an amazing car and perfect balance between sporty, family-friendly and comfort.
Beyond excited to get my 2021 330i xdrive tomorrow! Makes me really happy to see all of these good reviews on it.
I'm sure it will be a great purchase, enjoy the car! 👍
Enjoy. Had mine for a year now. Very practical, quick and economical and looks great.
How much is the road tax
I just got this car 2 weeks ago and I love it! I traded in my old 550i. The all-digital cluster isnt standard so its 2k extra but i had to have it, especially in 2020. But i love it ! Wonderful car.
Great stuff, glad you enjoy it! Big fan of the G20 3 series, fantastic car. Yeah although I'm not the biggest fan of fully digital clusters, I do think this one is well designed overall. Thanks for watching!
damn you let up an 8 cylinder for a 4 cylinder? 😖. i mean i would love this car at this price range too, but if only it was 6 cylinders atleast ;(
Love bimmers. The quietness in the car just shows how solid and robust the build quality is. They're the best 😍
Yes exactly! Quietness in a car is undoubtedly a sign of high build quality and luxury in my opinion
I just got the 2021 330i With the M Sport package and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ❤️ LOVE ❤️ It! It’s white with black 19’ rims, black spoiler and black grill! I tinted the windows and it’s super sweet 💯❣️🙏🏾
Sounds great, glad you like it!
Ahhhhh, jealous, that's just about what I'm looking for, tho' the 2020 is cheaper. I have a 2018 now and do NOT like the steering. Thanks for the info about the 2021 I will check it out.
thinking of getting rid of my 2018 golf r for a 2020 bmw 330i with hopefully most of the packages
Great review of a great car. Actually pretty good value.
Thanks a lot! Yes alot of car for the money I'd say
Absolutely the ultimate driving machine. No wonder it's a class leader
4:21 B48 engine also used in overseas BMW 7, BMW Supra and Morgan Plus Four
330i M Sport package is a great and fun daily driver! Just picked up a 2021 last week. Love mine.
Went from a 2018 340i M Sport to the new 330i.
Thats great to hear!
Missing the power at all?
@@empirical77 Not really. I put in JB+ and it’s zippy enough.
@@richsun247 Enjoy your purchase. Personally I wouldn't be able to trade in an in-line 6 for a 4 cylinder. To each his own ofc. Currently in the market for a 340i.
Hi,what's the (real) averege fuel consumption please?i'm thinking to take one for daily driver.
Thanks.
This video sold me on it, I’m going to get one in this spec in a year. I want the near perfect daily and for the money this is it. And reliability is there, Toyota wouldn’t have used it for the 4 cylinder Supra. The B series engines are bulletproof at this point.
Great to hear! Yeah this was such a good spec, struck a balance between well optioned and reasonably priced still. I honestly feel this is a near perfect daily driver, and as say these B series modular engines are just next level. Such incredible pieces of engineering!
I have had mine for over a year and I love almost everything about this car. It is a almost perfect daily driver to have some great fun in on the weekends. I would recommend depending on where u live that you either stick with the standard suspension or get the m adaptive bc the m sport suspension on my friends car is a little rough for new jersey roads
Glad to hear you enjoy it! It really did feel like the ultimate daily driver to me, and that's a good point you make on the suspension setup too
The B series motors have been something of a revelation or BMW, I’ve had my 230i for almost 3 years and it has been faultless. Now that poor reliability has been thoroughly resolved you can enjoy the car without worry.
Yo that’s the car I got but a 2021 version. Same color - Dynamic handing package-Adaptive M suspension.
I'm thinking of getting this over the M340i as my first ever BMW
Go for it!
You'd be getting the best and fastest 4-cylinder (and in some markets RWD only) 3 Series. Whereas the M340i (in some markets AWD only) is the entry 6-cylinder. The better deal and lighter too.
Fabulous car. Ticks almost every box.
Yeah its a great all rounder 👍
Nexr time watch the lighting: some parts of the video are overexposed which makes it very difficult to judge the color of the car.
Yeah unfortunately this happens when you're rushing and using an unfamiliar camera without an external monitor to see the image properly. Thankfully after the first minute the exposure is more correct. :)
Excellent content bro ❤️🔥🔥🔥
Thanks man 👍
Great review! Subscribed!!
Thanks a lot!
I’ve seen a few of these around. To my eyes the front grill looks cheap and unfinished. Good review !
Must say I've never been the biggest fan of blacked out grilles, I don't think it helps with the point you mention. Thanks for watching!
@@FootToPedal thanks for the reply. I’ve seen a few with chrome grill surrounds. Maybe the M style one is all black. Subscribed as you made an effort to reply.
Yeah I haven't seen any myself, could imagine it looking better potentially. And thanks a lot! Always endeavour to reply to all the comments 👍
Nice vid, +1, have you tested the 2021 as well and how would you compare the two?
Thanks! I haven't actually but I don't think there'll be much difference between the cars as they'll be very similar
Great car and review, how does it compare to Alfa Giulia Veloce which should be maybe faster? Which one feels more driver’s car?
Is it worth paying extra money when compared to f30 330i ( same b48 engine slightly less power)?
Thanks! Unfortunately I have never driven the Guilia Veloce myself so its difficult to draw direct comparisons. However I would say they would probably be fairly evenly matched as driver's cars with very similar performance figures and overall setups for the road. I think it is definitely worth paying the extra money for the G20 over the F30, but only if you're bothered about things such as latest interiors and technology. The G20 is a big step up in terms of interior quality and actually feels like really good value on that point. I also think the G20 looks better than the F30 but totally my opinion! Hope that helps!
The technology on the 3 series though is far superior than any Alfa
Good review :)
Thanks Ben!
Planing to get a 2020 or 2019 g20 as my first car ! Your thoughts ? 😙
Excellent choice, they're great cars!
Ha ha, this is my daily and my toy is a Z4 Coupe like yours!
😂 awesome combo!
Would you recommend this if I do lot of town local driving ?
Also I have seen one with cream interior
Would that be hard to look after cleaning wise( not sure if it’s a question for here )
Thank you
Yeah I'd say the 330i would be great for town or local driving! Cream interiors certainly would be harder to keep clean, but there's various products you can get to help protect the materials and stop them from wearing as quickly
I have a g30 530i 2018 I was thinking to get a 330i 2020 but I’m not sure if it’s a upgrade or downgrade
I can't say for sure as I've not driven the G30 530i yet, however I would imagine them to be very similar. The interior quality is almost the same and the engine/drivetrain are identical. Obviously the 3 series is a bit smaller though
@@FootToPedal thanks for the reply mate 😃
Sweet
If I bought this car used when it was say 2 years old would I have to pay the luxury car tax?
Good question! I believe the car tax premium on cars over £40k list price lasts for the first 5 years, so essentially yes you would pay a form of the luxury car tax if you bought it when it was 2 years old. I think the premium is an additional £325 a year for the first 5 years of the car's life.
dose this specific car have the adaptive dampers fitted?
Yes it does indeed
Still don’t understand why looking ‘aggressive’ is supposed to be good! Take the badges off if you don’t like them. If the thing drives well, then that is all you need.
Looks are always subjective I guess
@@FootToPedal gracias
I love my 2021 330i Msport package!!!! Not sure if I wanan keep it after it’s lease? 🤷🏾♂️ any suggestions from anyone??? Being my 1st bmw
Yeah everyone's opinion will differ on something like that - for me it would depend on the residual value and running costs going forward. If you can get it for a good price at the end of the lease then it might be worthwhile, I'd like to think the G20 330i would be good for many years on the road 👍
@@FootToPedal thank you man 👍😀🔥 yeah so that means what the car will be worth?
@@lilsiranthony yep exactly that!
Trading in my 340 f30 for this. Hope I don't miss the power
And what happened?
@@deudasfc2196 big mistake lol
That's what happened
@@wahid1228how come
Tell us what happened, when you said big mistake
@@nevillen5919 it's just not as fun as f30 340.
I can probably get used to electric steering and other past and future shifts (drive by wire, brake by wire, etc...), but nothing hurts as much as the lack of that third pedal! No matter how much faster, more efficient, more economical for companies, etc... I will still miss that experience! I guess I better add an e30 to my small fleet (e46xi and nc mx-5) before they become even more rare and expensive... Give me that analog experience! Good review though, (music comes on a bit strong, lol), and it is a nice car overall, but just give us the manual BMW (in my mind BMW should be one of the hold outs when it comes to rowing your own, given their historic reputation and who they attract)!!! Best wishes!
Yeah this is true, the lack of manual gearboxes around these days is really quite shocking, they've diminished hugely in the last 5 years. There's no doubt in my mind that the more cars move away from the ideolody of the likes of the E30, the more cars like that will be valued by enthusiasts - always a good thing i think! Anyway thanks for the support as always, hope all is well! (More E30 content coming in around 2 weeks so stay tuned!)
Great review but i think u need to review the backseats too haha
I can confirm the back seats are adequate 😂
@@FootToPedal hahaha 👍
Is yours a standard m sport model with nonadditional packs? Am looking at the m sport now 330i and it has 18" wheels with regular callipers (non blue)
I can't fully remember the spec of this car as we just borrowed it for a review. But yeah I think it was a standard M Sport model with no additional packs
M sport seatbelts, 19’s and the privacy glass in the rear means it’ll be an M sport pro or have the M sport pro pack fitted. That gives the adaptive dampers too
Does it still pop and burble? Getting a 2021 delivered this week... worried
I can't remember for sure as this was a while back, but I've had a few cars with this engine in and they always burble so I'd imagine it will!
I have a 2021 330i M Sport and I love it ! Previously I had a 2008 328i
Good wook mate
Thanks!
Good video car 🚗 content
Thanks!
Thinking of upgrading to this or the golf gti tcr? Thoughts?
Both very different cars so really depends what you want, 330i is probably going to be a more comfortable and practical daily/long distance driver. The GTI TCR is really a hot hatch that will probably be a lot more precise and exciting to drive, however I've not driven it I'm afraid!
Is that Phytonic blue?
This is actually Portimao blue, stunning colour it must be said. This colour is only available on the M Sport models I believe
do you think the halo lights (laser) are a must on these ?
I think you'd be fine with the standard lights myself!
The adaptive led lights are very good
Go with the most basic ones. When they burn, they will bit a lot cheaper to replace.
Is there much of an exhaust note?
Yeah it's not bad, check out this video we did: czcams.com/video/brjd2SF0OPM/video.html&ab_channel=FoottoPedal
@@FootToPedal thanks for the quick response mate! Stuck between this and a 2019 C220 coupe!
No worries man!
What’s the mpg like
Pretty good with the B48 engine, I'd imagine 40mpg is pretty doable in this car
Car almost caused me to crash I don't like the electric steering. I did try turn off but I don't think it goes fully off
Yeah lane keep assist is a nightmare, as you say I don't think it can be fully turned off sadly.
Learn to drive and learn to read (the manual)
630i or 330i compare it bruhh
Would love to compare them!
What was the fuel consumption like?
You can expect about 40mpg on longer journeys and then probably in the high 20s when driving more spiritedly
Do you actually own it
No we had this for the weekend on test
Fuel economy ???
40mpg is definitely achievable if you drive with a light foot, probably more on longer journeys. It's only a 2L 4 cylinder so not massively thirsty
@@FootToPedal what do u usually get in town driving ?
I only had this car for a couple of days but am very familiar with this engine. I would say 35mpg is certainly achievable around town, possibly even more
@@FootToPedal that’s pretty good, am really thinking of this or the 320d, I’m really confused as to what to do as I want the fun but also don’t want to be spending too much on fuel haha
Yeah thats fair man, if it was me I'd go for the 330i, its a great engine and very efficient. Also probably a lot more fun to drive than the 320d!
Good review. Could do without the stupid music, though, fyi.
Surely that's just your opinion 😂😂
@@FootToPedal - Not just my opinion, mate.
40k for a 3 series and not even a M3? Wow!!
Yeah thats pretty normal these days, an M3 would be a solid 25K more. Still good value for money in the current market though I think
@@FootToPedalmore like £35-40k more.
Good review but please stop saying “as well “
I mean you can probably tell none of this is scripted, so essentially improvising to camera isn't as easy as it looks
That's a really nice looking car, but it almost looks too big for the roads in your country. And I just can't understand how anyone can drive a car with the steering wheel on the right side. I could never do it.
Its not a small car but its not too bad for these roads. After driving on narrow roads for a while you get used to how you need to position the car. I've driven LHD cars in different countries and get used to it very quickly, I'm sure it would be the same for anyone who drives a RHD car for the first time!
@@FootToPedal I could never get used to it since I'm right-handed and I currently drive a stick shift. I'd probably destroy the transmission in a few years or less. lol
Yeah thats fair enough 😂
