Point is that Latvia needs to finally get airborne itself. Introduce the youth into aviation through gliding, build an airforce with military transport capabilities and also important - drones, drones, drones! Sadly though, aviation in Latvia is a joke, even directly compared to Lithuania. Mateuwz, your country, Poland, does everything right in this aspect.

Now its diffrente. In Poland we have problems but when im looking on our west "alliances", we have to be proper.

@@HarleyWasHere No you misunderstand me, I mean serious about the problem of Russia. The former Soviet states take Russian expansionism very seriously, just as we do in America. That is markedly different from other nations like France and Germany who were and are financing the Russian war machine and are unwilling to even put the bare minimum into their own defense. We consistently put tens of trillions into the defense of Europe, and it’s nice to have allies that appreciate that and are willing to fight for their own freedom and not just lay down in the face of Russia.

@@benitocarbone2123 It's not because they cant - it's because they don't want to. A large military parade in London would be the antithesis of British culture, and I think that's the same for most social liberal democracies. We don't do flag waving and soldier marches, that's just not British. The Germans are exactly the same, but for other historical reasons. Gloating about your military isn't a good thing, it's something reserved for dictators and failed democracies that have to flex their muscles to feel impressive.
France does it as France was the bastion of revolutionary ideas, its militaries spread ideas such as democracy (in their mind). Italy is weird and well who knows.
When Russia flexes it's outdated equipment in Red Square every year, it's not fear and panic they're creating in the west. It's mockery, especially now we know how utterly pathetic so much of it has performed. Russia does it because they have a massive stockpile of weapons and they have a president who needs to prove his power at every step.

I've met Latvian friend in Switzerland, so we went one day for a trip to Latvia with few people from Europe - I'm Polish so Poland was a starting point. We've been in Liepaja for a week in off season, great experience 😎 Maaany stories and memories, I've seen those bunkers by the sea, had to fight with russians outside bar, they burned me with cigarette, thought that would take/kidnap me xD
Latvians are cool :) I spent a lot of time with a Latvian friend and his family in London. Amazing food, great beer, always so welcoming and sweet. Hopefully I get to visit them in Latvia during midsummer.. Build huge fires, get drunk, spaz out :D

I will never forget how Latvia and Lithuania were the first to break from Soviet control. These are incredible times we live in, but it's a time when we are strong together! My Father went to Latvia and Estonia in the late 90's and told me how beautiful the Baltic states are. It's crazy how one psycho has united the entire world.

We (Lithuania) broke off the commies' bloc in 1990, however, on the 13th of January 1991, Soviet tanks were roaming the streets of our capital Vilnius. About 700 wounded. 13 dead. All but one were Lithuanian civilians, the one that was not, was a Russian soldier that died to friendly fire.
