This is why so many artists, even in hip hop, love Johnny Cash. He transcends genres. I dont even like country...but I love Johnny Cash .
Same!!
Ditto
Totally 👍
That's no lie. Johnny Cash still has universal appeal
When certain artists have Him cover their song...and the original shrugs and says "I didnt realize I wrote it for The Man in Black" he did something right
Johnny Cash was so far ahead of his time, yet such a badass even in his later years. ❤️
His cover of HURT by Nine Inch Nails is a masterpiece.
Cash was the real deal. Certified, card carrying tough guy.
Don't forget this was filmed in San Quentin prison
Yes this from the famous San Quentin prison..... Performed for the inmates!
Fun fact: Merle Haggard was 20, in San Quentin prison when Johnny performed, & that was what got him into country music when he got out
I had never heard this. Amazing!
That most certainly isn't what got him into music lmfao
@@chrisperry2754 prove it
@Tara Ritz I heard him say this on PBS when they were featuring Country Music. Music is indeed a healer.
I just made a comment on a different reaction video by Knox Hill saying that the album he made in San Quentin was gold. I did not know this thank you for the fun fact
Delightful. Song was written by Johnny’s friend, the poet Shel Silverstein. This is first record I ever got, my dad drove me to the record store when it came out. I was not yet 5. I still have it even if Johnny and my dad have passed on. Thanks, guys
Ps - meeting Cash and being hugged by him felt like being touched by the hand of God. Definitely a highlight in a life well lived,
My father who has also crossed over to the other side camp has also given me a love for Johnny Cash. I remember riding in a bus with him to Alaska with the 8-track in, and listening to Cash, Holly, Lynn, Jones among many others. This was one of his favorites to play, besides Pink Carnation
I never knew Shel Silverstein wrote this song...nor that he was friends with Cash. Very cool. Thanks.👍✌
I never knew that either! I've had all of his books, totally delightful, with 'The Giving Tree' being the one to bring a tear. What a soul that man had.
@@Stormbrise Johnny was 'god' in my house. My father revered him, and looked a striking amount like him. I think many of us got our love for JC from our fathers..
Shel wrote 'The Giving Tree' and other children's books and many of Dr.Hooks songs . .
He could spin a tale. My parents used to play this album when I was a kid. How cool is he recording at San Quentin prison?
Yes he is. He’s a fucking badass. The record company he was working fought him on it but he said he wanted to play a concert for his people and make an album out of it.
VERY cool!!!
1969?
Written by Shel Silverstein, apparently.
How Metallica got the idea.
I know BB King recorded an album at a Cook County Jail in 71 and Jerry Garcia played an acoustic set at Oregon State Prison in 82. Both worth looking for.
The man in black,, love this extraordinary! Next try Jackson by him and his wife June.
An all time favourite of mine!!!
Yes! Jackson is a great song! It’s hotter than a pepper sprout. 😂
I’ll never tire of that song ⭐️
Guys, your laughter is freakin' catchy, laughed along with you. ✊✊ Such a cute joyful reaction. 🤡🤡 #TwinsInTheBuilding
So right! I laugh off of other people’s laugh so I was rolling on the floor!
He’s singing this to guys in prison. Trying to show them a different perspective.
Good one Twins! For another classic story song: Kenny Rogers - The Gambler
Ooo that's a good one. Or Kenny Rodgers and the new edition "ruby dont take your love to town". Great guitar picking plus a story about the aftermath of war for one poor soldier.
Yessss
'One piece at a time' by johnny cash is hilarious
@mark Whelan, good call! Had forgotten about that one one. 😁
I was looking to see if anyone mentioned that...great one! I still love "I've Been Everywhere", and of course, Sue!
True! That is a great song.😊
"The Man in Black" and "Folsom Prison Blues" should be on your Johnny Cash playlist.
Hurt
A great story telling song is The Devil Went Down to Georgia. Your channel will never be complete without a reaction to that classic by Charlie Daniels Band
The Twins are natural born entertainers 💯
I grew up listening to Johnny Cash, me and my sister used to laugh in the back seat to this song. We had the censored version and sob was bleeped out XD
You guys should read the book from Shel Silverstein “Where the Sidewalk Ends” for a un cursing version of this poem. He was the lyricist for the song.
Shel Silverstein has a few good books of poetry. They're all bazaar, clean, & goofy...which I like.
Thanks for sharing that. I really like Shel Silverstein and I never knew Johnny's song was based on his poem. I learn so much music history from those who comment on the Twins channel, which is addition to the smiles they bring, is an added bonus.☺
@@kathyp1563 not all are clean - he wrote poetry for a playboy magazine before he became a children’s author. I have his not so child friendly ABC book.
The shots of the inmates at San Quentin is awesome! That was and still is unheard of playing at a penitentiary!
The only other performer that did a live album was B.B. King live at Cook County Jail. An incredible piece of music.
@@davebeach2343 is there a video for it?? Id have to check that out if so! BB King is literally a KING of rock / blues!
@@steveaustin5399 I've never seen any video, just heard the album. If there's video it would be incredibly cool.
Awesome song, have you listened to his song Ring of Fire? It really shows off his voice. Another funny song is One Piece at a Time. Also, the song Jackson he sings with his wife June.
Ring of Fire is awesome!
Love all those, especially Jackson! June had a beautiful voice... "and I'll be dancing on a pony keg!"
His wife -- June Carter -- wrote "Ring of Fire."
These are just the three songs I want them to listen, too. Good thinking!
Lmao!! Y'all are too funny! Thx for the chuckle! 🤣
I love Johnny and you two are to cute the way you react to songs, get you a Johnny Cash cd you'll love all the songs ✌💕
My boys are 9 and 5 and they love this song. We gotta raise our babies on these gems. What a awesome song. Legendary man.
Now you MUST listen to "Ode To Billie Joe" by Bobby Gentry!!!
Isn't he great? Love your laughter...thanks for this BANGER..❤
These twins loved this song. Nice to see them laughing like this
I knew you two would love this one.
A good story song (and it is based on real event) is The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot.
Another story song based on a real event) is Ohio by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
That song still chokes me up every time I hear it! And it's so good I can't bear to take it off my playlist! 100% most amazing ballad I can think of that is still amazing to this day.
Love your reaction to this classic.
Dont know if you noticed, but he is singing to an audience of prisioners, who were currently in San Quentin prison. Hey nephews
Love me some Johnny Cash, I always loved the fact that he would perform for those less fortunate. He could tell a story and entertain like no other country singer.
I feel like I’m sitting there with these guys . They always lift my spirits I know where to go when I’m down .
Such a well written reply. It's true. #TwinsRule
LOVE Johnny Cash ❤
Omg guys I love this song!! Thank you for the reaction 💞
I love when you say “ Peace one love” 💕💗💕💗💕💗💕
LOVE Johnny Cash! This song ALWAYS cracks me up!!!
You should react to Johnny Cash “Ring or Fire”!
One of the best story tellers ever. Live at Folsom Prison is a great album. Ty for doing this song.
I love how ya'll do every kind of music.
Another good story song is Charlie Daniels " Uneasy Rider"
Also The Devil Down in Georgia
Man, don't compare Charlie Daniels to Johnny Cash. That's an abomination...
@@Tony-dk9sx uh... i didnt. Do you know what a story song is?
You guys are so pure. ☺️ I enjoyed laughing with you!

Glad you liked it! The first live performance I ever saw recorded in a prison.
LOVED your reaction to this!!! Put a huge smile on my face!!!😂😂😂
Since you love story telling songs you need to listen to Devil Went Down to Georgia by Charlie Daniels Band❤️
YESSSS!!
I've been asking them to do that for a long time, they'd love it!
@@kathleenmartin7498 me too! I have asked on almost every video I have watched. Maybe this will get their attention😂
I’ve been asking for the Devil Went Down to Georgia for a while. It’s imperative that you react to that one!
Ohhh! Good one! I gotta find my CD 💿 and pop that baby in to listen! Thanks for the reminder!!!😉
I adore your reactions. So pure and sweet
Love this song, love Johnny Cash. Thank you fellas!
Please listen to Cash’s The Ballad of Ira Hayes. Another story song, but with a message.
My father loved this guy. Thanks for the memories!
I just love watching you two react. Enjoy your well-deserved success. 👍
If you like this, you're gonna love "The Streak" by Ray Stevens. Or really anything by Ray Stevens.
Yes!!! Mississippi Squirrel Revival!!!
Guitar Man 😂😂😂
Also listen to the Statler Brothers, Flowers on the Wall
Ray Stevens is classic!
Just two words: Blue Cyclone.. lol
LOVE you guys!!!
If you REALLY love story telling songs...
Devil Went Down To Georgia!!!!
SERIOUSLY!!!!!
Come on youtubers!!!
Let's make them do it!!!
Coward of the county by Kenny Rogers is a great story telling song.
Oh yeah! Such a powerfully great song!
You guys are fun to watch! This one could be as big as IN THE AIR TONIGHT! Love y’all!
I forgot how funny this song is-thanks for the reminder with your infectious laughter!
I so love these guys. Wonderful reactions
I love watching your reactions, they are so refreshing!
Johnny Cash… classic 👍👍👍
Legends. Both you guys & Johnny Cash. I love that you appreciate artists from all genre’s & and from all decades. It’s brilliant.
Gotta hear Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues song
I am so glad you both listened to the story! That's what makes his songs so fantastic.
Dynamite reaction brothers, thanks a million for the laughs
I like how the younger generation is checking out our music we listened to growing up. The 50s-70s had the greatest collection of music in the history of music. It was a great time for kids to grow up. Great music and cool cars set the tone. Unfortunately all that is lost now.
Listen to “SOB” by Nathaniel Rateliff and the night sweats
Absolutely! That’s a great song, and Rateliff is a powerhouse singer!
Super fun reaction! Thanks for choosing Johnny!
I just love hearing you two laugh.
Johnny Cash is a GOAT! There is so much more if his music to listen to.
The first Johnny cash song I ever heard, I loved it instantly as a small kid! Made me laugh. I didn't get into him properly til much later but for me he's one of the greatest ever artists! So many great songs!
🤩Love Johnny Cash!😆😂 Twins you have me rolling!!🤣🤣👍
Definitely listen to his
"Folsom Prison Blues"
This is the first time I have ever heard this song so you just showed me something new.
You two guys crack me up.....Such a breath of fresh air watching your video's.
Love your reaction can relate when I first heard. Again, thanks mom for raising children in NYC and never putting boundaries on music!
Love this song. I remember when I first heard it, I cracked up. Huge hit. Jim Croce is great at story songs too like Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown. Check it out!
Great Reactions, Thanks. 👍👍👍😊😊👌✌
You should check out "Uneasy Rider" by Charlie Daniels.
The 1973 version is the Original and (to me) Funniest Version.
Johnny Cash touched so many lives. He was friends with Elvis all the way to Bono from U2. He was deeply close to the Lord. That's what all three of the men mentioned above had in common. Peace
This is Johnny Cash's biggest country crossover hit ever!!! It peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and peaked at #1 on the Billboard Country chart back in 1969.
Can you imagine a music star going into a federal penitentiary and putting on a concert? Johnny was an amazing human
Shel Silverstein wrote this song inspired by his friend and raconteur, Jean Shepherd. Jean was the author of The Christmas Story.
So glad you enjoyed this.
Great video! Another very fun storytelling song from Johnny Cash is "One Piece at a Time," you guys would probably like it a lot.
So great to watch you both enjoy an amazing singer that some of us grew up with. Lol.
One of my favorites from this legend.
One of the best! There’s not a song this man put out that I don’t love. Thank you twins for sharing your reaction! You two are the only ones who truly react. Others put on the crying act, etc. God bless you both.
Back in the 70s I remember my mother playing his songs on 8 track tapes. I really wish I listened to the lyrics on this one. RIP Johnny, you were one bad a**!🎙🎼🕶
You made my morning with this reaction! Awesome pick! 🙂
Johnny Cash , LEGEND ♥️
This video made my day. Thanks for keeping up the great content guys!
love to see you guys react to his version of hurt ..Johnny Cash has always been a inspiration to me
They reacted to it about a year ago. You could tell they could feel it. Especially Fred
It is so nice to see young men enjoying songs from 52 years ago. Ya'll are great!!!
First you can't go wrong with Johnny Cash.. second I love how your face lit up and you hurt his voice and you heard the story start coming out. If a story makes you smile it's a good one and you can't mess with happy. You guys keep doing you. I'll keep watching.
A classic song and great reaction!
I've heard this song hundreds of times and I still think it's funny. Your reaction made it be fresh and funny all over again. Thanks.
You two are adorable! I have loved that song my whole life. Watching you enjoy it made me smile!😊
Great reaction! Fun song.
Oooh! Country music will set you up with tons of stories!
Good reaction!
Great for aimlessly cleaning house or tinkering with something. Do a couple more. Cash is multifaceted.
Great Great video guys!
If you like these story songs do Johnny’s ‘One piece at a time’ - you’ll love it
Made my day!!!
This brings back memories for me. My dad had this album and we played it over and over and laughed and laughed. I was laughing along even though I knew every word. I love it that the Twins are so open to just about any music that is good.
Haven't seen you guy's for a while, great to see you again all the best from Australia boy's Johnny Cash legend.
Carrie Underwood.
"Church Bells Ringing"
She's a singer/story teller, powerhouse vocalist.
Excellent reaction video
