- Let's take a tour of the cool Maple Leaf Gardens. This is where the Toronto Maple Leaf won all their Stanley Cup WIN!!!.
This is not a full tour of the Gardens as you are not able to visit all the areas. Also lots of the areas are gone.

I only wish I had visited when the maple leafs still played there
Hi, this is not a tour. This is literally reading a Wikipedia history with a few seconds of your own footage of a cat food isle. Since you were clearly actually there, a little less Wikipedia and a little more TOUR of the property would be more interesting.
i wonder if harold ballads secret apartment is still there
I got a tour of the catwalks high above the ice when I was a kid in the 70s, because my cousin worked there. He might have been an announcer then, but he did go on to be producer of Hockey Night in Canada.
Oh that’s so cool. Thanks for the view.
Cool video! Shopping for cat food at centre ice is awesome!
Very true if only I had a cat. Thanks for watching
A very informative, historical vlog... Nick...thank you for sharing..❤🌞
Thank you so much. These are fun to make
Hey i lived next to the Gardens way back when I was in university. Such an iconic building. So nice to relive some history! Leafs fans are still waiting! 🥲
So true and they will be waiting sometime. Thanks for stopping by
@Marc Marbella waiting since the year 1967. 😂
Thanks for the history lesson , watched a few World Wrestling Federation matches there when growing up
Thanks for stopping by and watching
Oh wow I didn’t know you were a WWF fan Nick 😮
went to every game in 93 playoffs , my parents bought tickets from scalpers , best time of my life ,. sure do miss the old lady on carlton . fantastic video thanks for sharing !
Thank you so much for watching. Great memories to have.
Not quite the original home of the Leafs franchise, back when the team was call the Arenas, they played their home games at the Mutual Street Arena.
When does the tour start?
Gardens was a great host to the WWF Maple Leaf Wrestling .
Aside from leaf games I also saw my first concert there, April Wine who were fairly unknown at the time opened for Canadian legends Rush and I also saw The Who in what was suppose to be their final concert.
That is amazing. Sadly I never got to see anything there before they moved.
'The Who', all those FAREWELL tours!
It was supposed to be The Who's final North American concert, just like their previous show at the CNE. A lot of people were pissed off when Daltry announced "we'll be back!" at the end of the CNE show.
Tour?
0:00 Due to the fact that the team were formed in 1917 (or 1927 when they took the name Maple Leafs) and Maple Leaf Gardens opened in 1931, this was not the original home of the Leafs.
Actually the original home of the Toronto Maple Leafs was Arena Gardens
He said that!
The last game I watched there, Guy LaFleur was playing for the Leafs, so we got to say "Guy" every time he had the puck.
Sorry, LaFleur never played 'for' the Leafs - he played for les Habs, the Rangers and the Nordiques. And Team Canada, of course.
@@watson956 Yes you are right! It was when the Nordiques were visiting at a Leafs game. I stand corrected.
No mention of the boiler room.
My hangout from about '85 to '95, when I went to one or two games a week. Scalper grays for $30. Go Leafs Go.
That’s amazing
You forgot to add the tour part.
A great old building I visited many times for games, but alot of bad things happened in there over the years and I'm not talking about sports.
Thanks for watching. Yes I’ve hear about that, so sad
They should’ve kept it for some special games
I second that, I’m sad I never got to see it in its hay day
The Gardens was not built because they needed a new arena. It was the depression and Conn Smythe purchased the site to create jobs and build life in the city. He also invested in the building of Weston Arena.
Now own by Ryerson University
"Toronto Metropolitan University" after it was renamed.
Went to the gardens countless times in the 90’s as a kid with my dad to cheer against the leafs! Especially when the wings would come to town a lot of great memories there. Hate the leafs, absolutely love the building. Thanks for the vid!
Thank you for watching
So how u don't mention Mr. J P Bickell, the man who was most instrumental in bring together the financial component that brought stadium into existence
Not exactly a tour my dude, just clips and pics from the past. Plus there's no indication in there of where the benches used to be, only center ice which they've made more obvious now, I like that they did that cause before it was just a silly red dot that meant nothing. The walls on the east end yes remain untouched cause they can't really break down the outside structure so they left the colours there for nostalgia along with the outside door entrance for what would take you to the hot stove lounge at that time.
People have zero clue what type of atmosphere this place presented for any event. Not a bad seat in the house. The reds behind the nets were always my favourite. I was fortunate to attend many games and tried to make it to the last, but that was just too crazy on a fanancial level.... I settled for the 3rd last game against the caps with Lanny mcdonald on the ticket stub, $700 for 2 reds and 2 blues. Great times. If it wasn't for time and progress, nostalgia wouldn't exist.
this is true , even the standing room only was solid views of the ice , speaking from experience lol . walking around the garden you could feel the events that had happened before almost seeping out of the walls. its hard to explain . i love that place
WWE back when it was known as the WWF did shows at MLGs for many many years. Hopefully WWE can get the opportunity to bring back MLGs shows if they are given the chance.
How about the piss throughts on the men's room floors?
A river of piss at intermission if you got stuck on the end drain. How could you do a piece on mlg
And not tell about this right of passage as a nhl fan? Ya I said nhl fan , not loafs fan.
Go Habs go.
Should've moved hockey hall of fame there.
That is a great idea.
@Nick Tours too late now. Ownd by a damn parent company of a grocery chain. Would've been perfect place for it instead they turned it into a modified grocery store/ retail. What a disrespect to the " church of hockey " as they all called mlg
Hardly. A tour
NOT much of a tour
Thanks for watching. Just curious what people are looking for to improve my videos.
@@NickTours This video is a brief history, not a tour.
There's still that snobby attitude with some people where they feel it's below them to mention Wrestling ..Wrestling was a close second to hockey in Garden importance over those decades
I went to many WWF events here!
