- Atlanta United hosted Portland Timbers at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday in what was a flashback to the setting of the 2018 MLS Cup when the two sides met and Atlanta lifted the trophy. In this edition, Atlanta United got five goals from four different goal scorers, including a brace from Thiago Almada and the first career MLS goal for Giorgos Giakoumakis, to defeat the visitors 5-1 and remain unbeaten on the season.
Atlanta United joined Major League Soccer in 2017 and won the 2018 MLS Cup in just its second season, the earliest an expansion team has won the title since 1998. The club has set multiple league records including season tickets sales (36,000-plus), single-season average (53,002) and total home attendance (901,033). Owned by Arthur M. It’s inevitable. As much as I want him to stay, he deserves to play at a higher level. Same with Almiron. I was sad to see him go, but at the same time happy to see him go on to EPL and is doing well. We can say he came from a team like Atlanta though

Gutman is always finding himself at the right place at the right time , but just can’t seem to finish. gutman can be ANOTHER scoring threat if he trains on his finishing ability.
Whatever the coach and the traning staff is doing, they need to be keep doing that because our boys are back and I’m loving it.
His work rate was astounding. Interceptions, tackles, pressure, forward runs - you name it and he will deliver it.

Williamson's shot hit a player in an offside position, so the entire play is offside. No goal. But let's say that goal counted. That makes the score 5-2. Do not to begin to sell that this one correctly overturned Portland goal was the difference in the game. That's BS. In Charlotte's case they gave up 3 in the first half, so I don't wanna hear reffing excuses there either.
