NFL Rule Changes from kick off to hip-drop tackle banned, do we agree with where football is headed?

  • The NFL passed rule changes for the 2024 season and the game we love is going to look different. Ryan, Channing and Fred discuss the new rules and how it will affect how the game is played. People adjust but we keep adjusting to the rules for safety yet the NFL wants to add more games, so which is it?

      You def didn’t play football saying that shit, hip drop tackles is a 80% chance of getting a leg injury . Been playing on turf since middle school and getting hurt by turf NEVER was a thing

      @@isiahgomez6860The hip drop tackle is no more dangerous than seeing your opponent head up. Idk about no 80%, I've been tackled like that and have made plenty like that. It just takes away a way to bring someone down from behind or from the side. Unless you're a DB 15 yds off the ball AND crashing the line, you're not gonna see every tackle directly head up. You're gonna have to chase someone down at an angle, and unless u had "Usian Bolt type" speed, you're not gonna suddenly be able to get in front of them and be in position to make a tackle. This was a dumb ban, and hopefully it doesn't last longer than 1 season, other defenders are gonna start looking trash.

      @@kenmorris8219 That’s straight up bs. Your LEG is mostly likely to get fucked up getting hip dropped tackled. The NFL literally has % tackled injury on it and it’s #1.

    The issue is NFL is a contact sport. You signed the contract fully knowing the possibility of injuries. The same goes for police, boxers, mma fighters, military, firefighters etc.

    The hip-drop tackle is the dumbest rule they have implemented. Offense scoring is cool, points are cool, but this is ridiculous. I'm so close to not watching it anymore. Straight dumb.

  • @mbwell
    @mbwell Před 26 dny

    With the softening of the tackling, the emphasis will be on protecting the offensive side. I’m looking at numerous records being broken on that side of the ball and the game being literally almost unwatchable.

    *As a former football player with these rule changes in this Era of the NFL & College is putting all the responsibility of saftey on the defense but none on the offense* it's hypocritical, lacks integrity and you give offense players a flaws sense of security and superiority in the game.
    *Guess what the RB, FB, TE, WR and QB on 3rd down & short will Truck lower the helmet on a Defender and run them over* for those extra yards which is essentially a Targeting helemt to helmet tackle from the offensive perspective, *still legal in todays game*
    Offensive players are not force to making a moves right or left in tight spaces to give the defenders effective places to make tackles to keep both plauers safe there trying impose there will but you remove the defenders ability to tackle them.
    *The Crack-back aka Comeback Block is still legal today game (to my knowledge) and is one of the most dangerous plays in football* and its use on defenders.
    *Rub Routes by WRs to impede defender causing necessary collsions or roughness, QBs fake sliding or going out of bounds then trying to gain more yards or run defenders over* .....list goes on.
    *FOOTBALL is a violent, high impact and collision sport you know the risk and you play for the glory, rewards, and recognition knowing you can potentially die or be permanently injured or paralyzed its not for the weak* or soft.

    Mike Tyson says “Punch through the heavy bag like you are trying to put your fist out the other side” and the Same holds true for tackling, tackling with intent to drive through your target, wrapping up, and driving viciously to the ground, and where possible pancake them to the ground or suplex.

    I'm going to be honest...I'm all for the evolution of the game, but how long is the NFL going to keep taking from the defense and favoring the offense. The game is starting to come out of balance, to the point where I'm losing interest. I do not want to see 40 point games every week. I want to see the defense lock the the offense down sometimes.

    It's going to get to a point when nobody is going to want to be a defensive player anymore, then the NFL is going to have to make a decision, loose viewers and money or get rid of the defensive constricting rules and let the defense be great again
