    I have built at least 5-6 boxes for audiomobile woofers, we sold them at performance car audio and were early on the boat, no one had heard of them but in small sealed enclosures I was overly impressed with their performance and power handling. I want to say even in .5-.6 cubic ft up to a little over 1 cubic ft enclosure these babies sing. All my enclosures were in trucks/underseat/behind seat(new and old body Silverado/sierra, F-150, Tundra, etc)

      Yes, I was also surprised. They were popular in the same time period as the heyday of SVS, and all of them were using TC Sounds drivers. The TC-designed Fujitsu Eclipse subwoofers gave us the Eclipse 4-spoke and 6-spoke baskets that were state of the art in suspension performance and internal clearance.

      @Acoustic_Theory Před rokem +1

      @@magno408_1 Believe me, I know and talk (and work) with several transducer engineers who would love to design products as beautifully executed as TC Sounds products, but they would run into the same problem TC Sounds had - in order to be priced competitively (even though still very high), they would not be able to make any money on the products. TC Sounds wasn't making enough on the products they sold, but they couldn't raise prices because they were already at the edge of what the market would bear. Would you spend $1500 on a subwoofer driver, not even including the enclosure? There was also a lot of wasted steel in the underhung motor assemblies, and TC Sounds would often use low-grade Y28 or Y20 ferrite magnets so they could stack four of them and have a lot of clearance inside the motor, and this was also visually impressive to customers, but it was wasteful and resulted in expensive magnet assemblies when the same magnet assembly strength could be achieved with less magnetic material.
