Heat is the best way to get rid of bed bugs. I had them a month ago. All I did was set up two small space heaters, put them on the highest setting, turned on my small fan to circulate the heat and I let the heaters run for like 12 hours or more for five days. It would get so hot that the skin lotions I use were watery. I even had a bottle of water in my room that was warm.
It's been a month now and I haven't seen one bed bug.
Heat definitely gets the job done.

Now we are doing heat treatment next week. It is 3 a m and I am sitting here typing this because I can't sleep. I never even seen bed bugs until 10 years ago (live in Indianapolis) now seems they are everywhere. I head they come from Mexico. Not sure if true but would make sense because everyone coming to U S from Mexico recently.

Having had bed bugs once, and in talking with people that have been through it, all say it left them with a ptsd of sorts. I AGREE🥺. One person said they would’ve rather have Covid(the one before the vax & was causing all those deaths early ok) than bed bugs. I agreed😩. It’s an anxiety/fear that we never get over.
@@msliz1029 Liz I haven't suffered from a bed bug infestation in about 8-9 years. I had nightmares, chronic anxiety and PTSD for years. I just got to a point where I can watch these videos but they still make me squirm. I had to seek therapy to get over it. Oh and this all happened because I took my pillow to a friend's house to sleep one night. That's all it took. I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone.
putting DE (diatomaceous earth) in your bed, under the sheets (and also on you) will also help. but it can feel overly drying on the skin so dont be excessive...but your skin will* be gently exfoliated too. but dont inhale DE, it can scar the lungs, but this same feature is what tears up the exoskeleton of insects. DE will effectively neutralize ants also, but it isn't enouhgh on its own to combat bed bugs and fleas...even tho it does kill both

@@Mickey-wb3do INSPECT, inspect, inspect. An INFESTATION is quite obvious. AND a heat treatment is effective when you KNOW they've only been there for 12 hours - and are basically only on the mattress. BUT in a severe infestation with bugs in multiple places this method is only for immediate knockdown - it will not be able to get the bugs that have embedded themselves in the room or house.
People with bedbugs tend to sleep in another room - and guess what. The bugs will seek and FIND blood! Thus, they cause the bugs to spread out more throughout the house. Heat treatment, in such a scenario, will most likely only chase the bugs away from one area/room for a little while.
There needs to be another method to keep them from coming back and/or from reproducing, etc.
While they are not known to spread disease, they are quite nasty with their droppings leaving heavy discoloration and all their other evidence. One man had them soo long it was thought that his medicine was losing effectiveness because his blood was being "syphoned" by the critters.
Interesting fact: Seeing the bites and itching means that individual is allergic. IT is possible that another person in the same bed is getting bit, but not having an allergic reaction thinks the other person is crazy or has a rash of some sort. This is one reason why people do not even consider the possibility of having bedbugs - because only one person is having the reaction.
Also, the DIY route is costly and when it fails you need a professional to intervene - calling a pro in the beginning could save money and frustration and possibly the PTSD some have mentioned.
I did extensive cleaning for 3 days using foam bed bug spray and bed bug powder and wiped in the creases with a damp towel, I covered my mattress with a plastic bag you use for moving and taped the ends to seal, and then cover it with a bed bug blocker encasement to save money from buying a new mattress but I threw all my pillows away and washed my covers in very hot water. I had a minor case of bed bugs but I wasn't playing around.
Is it because bed bugs can’t climb on plastic? I have been dealing with a minor ongoing case of them for months and am losing my mind! I bought the Zapp Bug heater but I can only cook my clothes and sheets in it. I have burn marks all over my mattress because I run my irons over my mattress trying to burn them away

They share a symbiotic relationship to a larger predator. The predator uses them find it's prey in the night. When the scent of the bugs is picked up it makes its way into the house and paralyzes the bedbugs' host. Once prey is found it will always be able to track the said subject even when the prey leaves and sleeps away from the bed bugs. I have been bed bug free for over a year. I get visited in the night every once in a while. I recently had someone I know go through a very bad case of bad bugs and decided to help them. The night before they discovered that they had bedbugs I had a visitation at my own house. I am not dead yet so I am not sure if it is paralyzing the host to retrieve bedbugs from the bed/nest or if it is taking something else. Visiting while there are no bed bugs would suggest that the predator feeds in another manner. A lot of people experiencing sleep paralysis need to check for bedbugs. There is a possibility it is related. I will say this. I have begged the Lord Jesus Christ to rescue me from this predator every time. I am totally defenseless. There is no fighting back. Only Christ can save you. You will know helpless-ness and if you cry out to the messiah you will know mercy. The merciful shall obtain mercy. I have witnessed other families being ripped apart over the bugs. I've seen people throw everything they own away. But this predator can not be gotten rid of. Other people report nightmares or strange dreams. If you know anyone being tracked please comment here. Speak up. Dont brush it off as bad dreams. You will know the difference.

It's great when a room like his is very clean with absolutely no clutter, but when you have to work with clutter...it's a nightmare to get rid of bedbugs. Heat treatment isn't always a solution when folks can't afford it.
You can use a cheap hand held steamer to go over your bed, clean out the room, then put diatomaceous earth, food grade, which is very cheap, all along the walls and the bed edges, etc. The DE dries them out and kills them all within days. Very inexpensive. Put the DE in your vacuum cleaner too so that any bugs you may vacuum up that are still alive will come into contact with the DE and die instead of coming back out of your vacuum.
After that video he got rid of his bed.
After that video, he became single & alone!
3 days later he goes on youtube searching how to kill bed bugs on your mattress

I have to say, I have found the thing about bedbugs hating light to be incorrect. I've had them come out, being very hungry because my bed was isolated, to try to feed on me in broad daylight. If they are hungry enough, they will not care about the light. That is a misconception.

Depend if you room get lot of strong lights especialy sun light. Its very irritating and uncomfortable to them
I also do notice that when i turn on light randomly on night. Bed bugs stop what they are doing and immediatly rush to hide in their hiding spot. Light makes them nervous for some reason

The bugs he DID show weren't even running away from light when he pulled the cover off. None of them. This whole thing looks staged as fuck. That dog didn't even act like it was ACTUALLY trained to find bedbugs. Looked like it was trained pretty good, but he wouldn't have to go pointing "here, now check here" and then the one time he had to tell him twice, if that dog had the same training "regime" (regimen, not regime) as a bomb sniffing dog, he would've been able to just let go of the leash and let the dog do its thing.
I don't think bed bugs run from light. They aren't cockroaches. The only reason they primarily comes out at night is because that is when people sleep.

DIATOMACEOUS EARTH! Spread it EVERYWHERE around your mattress, frame, and cracks around carpet. I spread it around the top of my mattress too, making a circle/ barrier for the bed bugs to crawl over in order to get to me. This is the only thing that worked after weeks of bombing, bed bug sprays, and washing all bedding. The powder is cheap and effective. Leave it down for a few days or longer( yes your house will look like a winter wonderland). Please research why, and how the powder effects them. Quick synopsis: It’s completely natural and dries their bodies out as they take it back to their colonies.

I’ve had some bites show up and caught a couple. Notified my apartment landlord and she wants me to pay for the treatment plan which I declined. There is 12 other people living in this complex and constantly moving in and out. How they can put the blame on me is beyond ridiculous. I suggest anyone in an apartment complex to deal with it themselves
I’d be checking the lease/local renter laws on that one. They may be legally responsible for the pest control.

diatomaceous earth works good put it at base of dividing walls it cuts them to shreds my neighbors that live on both sides of me had them also put a strip of double sided tape the full length of door opening plate! I never got them thank God!
@@tarunpandey8339 Sometimes , but I have still seeing them in my clothes because they move around under your clothes. i still have those little critters move around. i use a lot of baking soda detergent. if you feel scraping on your around your neck or shoulder and it feels about the size of a green pea, you know that is one. pinch it and there are two red spots , it's a bed bug.

@@decemberlove1221 not quite, but you have to know where they hide. You see are that effective. They come out mostly when it is warm. If you have a bad infestation it may take longer. Get a big box of baking soda and sprinkle it on your bed around the box springs and any where you see black on mattress. Rub it in. Take off your pillow case off your pillow because they like to hide in there. Wash them. Take your hand and rub the baking soda in the sheet around the sides of the bed. If you lay down for few min, don't undress , they may come up on the bed. You can grind them in the baking soda.
You have to seal off the room too so they can't escape. Seal the cracks, the outlets, the windows, doors.
Also it takes multiple times or heating it continuously for many days in a row just to make sure you got all the eggs and everything.
Make sure to vacuum and clean everyday as well.

@@maverickcuellar7737 Steam clean your furniture and bedding. You can also wash them with hot water to kill the mites. It's not the same type of treatment. Just keep on vacuuming and keeping your home clean and the mites situation should clear out.
You can buy flex 10-10 and use that, but read the labels before use and try it out to see if it leaves any stains (I'd recommend keeping any pets away from the areas).

Heat is definitely the best way to kill bed bugs. It is important to set up the room properly to avoid cold spots. Removing all of the bedding and setting the mattress and box spring in an A frame are two very important steps.
the heat treatment has to go on for at least 90 minutes depending on the infestation level and heat level. In about 30 minutes the whole room will be that temp regardless of where they are or the position. Heat is attracted to cold so it will fill every space eventually. unless ofc your house/room w/e is so drafty that the heat just dissipates away before actually heating anything up.
How do you treat a living room
I paid 3014 dollars for a heat treatment and am still getting bitten every night. I treated the walls behind and next to my bed and still get bitten, every night.
I am next going to try a biological insecticide. I won’t mention the name because I’m supposed to have a license to use it.
I will apply it to the bed frame and the box springs (all mattresses are encased). And the walls in the bedroom.
In order for this to work, they have to crawl across the lines of insecticide. Then they take the poison back to their nests, where it kills everything.
The catch is you have to sleep and allow yourself to get fed on for at least two weeks. They have to feed on you and bring it back to their nests. There’s no way around this.

An additional layer of protection while living through this process is putting rat-trap sticky pads under each foot of your bed. That way the get stuck trying to reach you at night while you’re sleeping. Make sure to move you bed away from the wall and side tables tho and to make sure there are none on your mattress (use a sealed mattress protector), and pillows, sheets, and blankets which have been put in the dryer on hot for over 90 mins (kills BBs even the eggs)
They are known to climb up the wall and then leap onto the bed.

They can easily crawl the wall even taking residence in your ceiling light fixtures. Like little kamikaze troopers can pinpoint your location dropping on you for a meal.
Remember, you must stop them from the SOURCE, or they just come back. Hint: Check your wall sockets, it is one of their favorite secret entrances and hiding places.
His method is smart. Because bed bugs cannot survive high temperature of 45 celcius+ for more then 2 hours

This works well, for about 3 days. I managed a 125 unit apartment community. The few times we had bed bugs…. Heat only worked for a couple days.

I understand it worked, and I appreciate it. However, I got clickbaited by this vid, thinking it was a method I dould do at home.
Diet-o-matious (spelling) earth in a puff bottle after cleaning EVERYTHING inside and out. Dismantling every part of your dresser and bed night stand etc with 91% isopropyl alcohol. Squirt alcohol directly on the bed bugs to kill them. After everything is clean including clothing and drapes and sheets.... Puff that earth powder i mentioned under baseboards inside outlets and light switches and on frame of bed etc. Very light amount. It dries out the bed bugs to aid in killing any missed. Good luck.
Bed bugs were an old wives tale when I was growing up, born in 1974 , never saw a damn bed bug until I was in my 20s.. we eradicated them in the USA, but the rest of the world just rolled back over and went to sleep. .

I"ve tried this method. In a small apartment. Yes, it did work for a few nights, and then they were back with the flag held high. The heat in that apartment was absolutely torrid. Turns out that the critters are in other apartments of the complex I live in. They found their way back through the electrical wiring conduits of the building (or so me thinks).
So..... a yes and a no....you'd have to do every apartment in your building for a lengthy cure......and even then I'm not at all sure that a few which are bound to survive begin the cycle all over again. As for a house, I think it simply has far too many hiding places for the little fuckers and their eggs to be totally exterminated. The only reason these little pain causing, sleep depriving parasitic bastards haven't taken over the world yet, is that they know if they kill us humans off, they will be in moocho trouble themselves.
You're right, in an apartment or multi-unit housing complex your neighbors will need to be treated as well - which makes things very expensive and why most building owners or managers won't bother doing it. This method can work great in single family homes, but due to it's cost it's not a great alternative for multi-unit dwellings.
The other thing to point out is that many pest control companies don't use heat treatments properly; which is to say that they don't leave the heat on long enough and/or they only monitor they ambient air temperature and do not use probes to ensure that the heat is penetrating in to the center of your furniture or walls. This is usually only practiced by smaller, fly by night companies that don't back up their work with warranties.
Heat CAN work very effectively, but like most things in this world IT HAS TO BE DONE PROPERLY. I am a professional pest control technician working on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
I don't have a heating machine i want what can kill bed bud faster with out tearing my pockets.
Using heat and than the DE powder should definitely work.. The powder can be put in small areas the heat may not have gotten 100%.. Any Cracks... Wall outlets... Etc. Etc..

i own a K9 bedbug detection company, i have 2 dogs highly trained with thousands of inspection and trust me 24 hrs after heat treatment the dogs will 100% FALSE ALERT on dead bedbugs, you MUST wait at least 7 to 10 days to be sure the odor is gone...
Twice I have lived in buildings with bed bugs, and while so many others
were continuing to be infested, I was able to rid my living space of the
critters all together. I used three tactics that have worked every
time. 1. Wrapping mattress and boxspring in the thick Moving Plastic
that comes on on brand new mattresses and taping up any breathing holes
in the plastic with duct tape. The Bug resistant pillow covers work
well, but the ones they make for mattresses have too much stitching and
folds that bedbugs still can nest in. So just straight plastic. 2. Using
a microfiber blanket with no seams or stitched ribbing. 3. Spray
everything down with straight rubbing alcohol until damp. It not only
will dissolve the critters and their eggs, but it also drys them out
internally. If the alcohol doesn't work immediately spray a little more.
1-2 saturating sprays will kill them dead. NOTE: a fourth trick that
can be used is to fill four tuna cans just little bit with rubbing
alcohol and place those under your bed post leg. This prevents the bugs
from even being able to get to your bed. But do this along with the
plastic, microfiber blanket. There are sites and articles that claim
that the alcohol doesn't work, But I'm telling you, it does, and you'll
always notice that those sites are trying to sell you some other product
or service.

Delta dust, D-fense SC and a heavy duty steamer took out the infestation in my sister's house. They were in the arm rest of her couch. The couch went to the dump. Find the nest, it's not always a bed.
These things are a nightmare if you don't get control quickly.
It's a good idea to get mattress protectors for every bed in your home.
Im a certified k9 handler for a pest control company and you need more training buddy not only with the inspection but also with the “heat” treatment you didn’t even lift the mattress!
I got my own remedy and it leaves them standing frozen in their tracks.

Other videos I've watched mentioned that they can be in the walls (for example, around electrical outlets) where it can be difficult to get the temperature that high.
Pretty sure that is why the length of the treatment and the 141 on the thermometer. After a few hours all those places will be permeated. In my apartment, in the summer, once it gets roasted for a full day of sun, it takes 2-3 days to cool back off, once the heat wave passes. Great for keeping away bed bugs, but hell for working and sleeping in (no A/C).

Trying different combinations of things. DIY home heat with a temp gun and ordering Gentrol IGR, Flex 10-10 and mix them. 6oz of Flex and 1oz of Gentrol to 1 gal of water in a sprayer. Heat room first i got it to 140 but at least 122 every section of baseboard,dressers etc research your temps and time needed to kill all cycles, after cool down,then spray baseboards,headboards, inside dressers,edge of carpet. Put ALL clothes in garbage bags,seperate bags of course,dirty get washed and dryed, already clean just dry on high heat. Buying some Sterilite gasket storage containers for your highly used clothes is recommended. Non-essentials after dryed can go in a garbage bag and put away for awhile. Vaccum mattress and box spring, treat mattress with just flex,then treat box spring with mix. Then ENCASE THEM. Bought mine off Amazon, you CANNOT skip this step.Boxspring and mattress encasements.Recommend traps under each bed leg. A few different dusters you can use, for wall sockets,also called gaps in baseboards or by outlet covers. I did tempo...tried black light flashlights no help, magnifying glass is useful, haven't seen any since. Treat every 10 days with the flex and gentrol mix. 6oz of flex 1oz gentrol..second and third time 5ozs of flex to 1oz of gentrol. After that I would gentrol every 3 weeks. Pyrid and Bedlam plus are also good for nooks and crannies. Good luck hope this helps because paying someone to heat the whole house is expensive. And you gotta think are any in the walls deep to where they survived? That's why I DIY my heat and then insecticides AND IF I see anymore my last ditch will be a product called Aprehend...those of you in apartments or townhomes I would just go straight for that, because you can't control your neighbors. But with Aprehend it's like Coronavirus for bedbugs. It's a biopesticide, you spray around the matress and your basically bait, but when they go back after feeding they infect the whole nest around them...pretty cool.

My brother bought this machine for my grandmother house. Just in her closet it got up to 124 degrees she had alot of fried bedbugs on her bed. The heater and the fans cost alot. But it did the job

I bought a 140,000 BTU kerosene heater and treated 2 large rooms ( the infestation hadn’t had time to spread) in my house, I got 170-200 degrees surface temperatures, maintained it for 9 hours… worked great… melted the vinyl window blinds.. but It turned my Bed Bugs into Dead Bugs .. ☠️☠️☠️

All you need is a steamer. Like a handheld steamer. It's going to take a few days of doing treatment. if you have 3-4 hours out of your day. You can clear bed bugs on your own for cheap. Been there, Done it.

Would you mind elaborating a little bit? My entire house is in sealed garbage bags and im washing every single piece of fabric. Dry cleaning what can't be washed. Even put my Jordans in the dryer :(
Pest control came in and sprayed the entire house but I want to make sure they're gone. I have a steam cleaner for the floor but it doesn't have attachments. I'll go buy one if I have to lol.

l used a hand held hair dryer-it works great and l put Boric Acid Roach Powder under my bed and that got rid of the bugs.

heating is effective, however, bedbugs may flee the heat and thus enter other rooms or neighbours. They' re not that dumb as to stay put if they have a means of escape. This is one of few problems with heat treatment, especially if you are living in an appartment.
Right after he did his first minutes of his show, he had the exterminator waiting in the living room to do his room up. This was truly a very sad demonstration. Yes, heat does kill them buggers but who wants to pay for the expense after 12 hour use of those huge heaters. May as well call for the exterminator.
My suggestion to keep them from going to you while waiting for exterminator to show, try using Vicks Vapor rub. My friend's uncle had them bugs, used Vicks, rubbed the cream all around his bed and pillows but not heavy or else you won't be able to breath. Just small dabs of it. Rub a small amount on yourself wherever you think is best. That was his directions for use with the Vicks and he said it worked 100%. He said he had to wait couple days for exterminator to spray his place. It must burn them from it's strong flaming scent. For myself, if I had them crawling around my place, I would definitely throw everything out, including blankets and clothes, wooden picture frames, except for silverware , glasses and other miscellaneous stuff that can't possibly have any space for bugs to crawl into to hide their despicable hideous creepy ugly looks. Clean the place, have exterminator do his thing and move out. Heck with months notice, they should not have been there in first place when caretaker told me she never had problems with bedbugs or any kind of bug for that matter. But which caretaker is going to admit there's been problems with bedbugs in the suite or house. They most likely lose out customers.

Wow. Bold demonstration! I think the best way is to prevent bed bugs! When at hotels be careful where you put your luggage! Put them on the stand. And when you get home clean all laundry in hot water
Excellent product, I like that there are no chemical's used. When I had bedbugs, anyone can get them, they cling to cloths ie. can pick them up at a theatre, the gym which is where I think I picked one up, library ect... I hired a company whom used heat to kill them this worked, but the key is the heat must be over 48 degrees C. the eggs and adults all die at this temp, leaving the heat at this temp for 6 hours. I will remember this product for next time. But if bedbugs get into books and boxes, this product would damage the books. I also had to take all my books I had stored out of boxes and put them in plastic tubs or on the floor as heat does not penetrate cardboard very well. Even if one was hiding in a book, that lone bug could start a whole new population. I also sealed off my bedroom, this is the only place I found them as this is where the food source is, so they would not get anywhere else in my apartment. I have not seen one in four years.

he didn’t do anything wrong, he simply placed bed bugs into his own mattress and used a heating method to showcase that it works in killing them.
So I slept at my mother's house big mistake! So everytime I go and sleep at hers I get itchy I hadn't slept there for months and had been fine so this weekend I had to stay there and guess what I'm now freaking itchy. I have told her this and she said she has looked but has seen no bedbugs and would apparently be able to see them if she had them which is bull. This happened years ago and I dealt with itching for years when I was living there and I told her she had bedbugs or mites but would never believe me and said I was crazy. But then she eventually found out she did infact have bedbugs . So it's happened before and I know too well the itching from these bugs. I'm up tonight itching like mad and now worried I might have them in my home I hate these things with a passion and will never sleep at my mother's ever again.

Won't they just move to a less hot room? Also, with slow heat the bugs would likely go into that catatonic state which allows them to survive with no food for a year. I understood that if you treat with heat, it must be slow so the bug's body doesn't have time to enter the catatonic state

I used to treat bed bugs for years, they were my specialty. The heat method shown in this video is a very bad method. It will drive them further into a room to escape from the heat, and make them that much harder to treat. The real way to treat for them is to use micro encapsulated pesticides with a mix of other treatments. Dusting, wall injections, the works.
The best way is actually using heat treatment not poison. Bed bugs aren’t like other bugs so the bed bugs don’t absorb the poison always. The answer to your question is they heat up every room in the house not only the bed room.
