I definitely suggest you get the broken relic, assuming you want to fight a secret boss. I won't say much else, since I don't want to spoil too much.

Cap, I would recommend buying the Crackshot Ability in pork rinds on the island. It is very strong and you’ll probably need it for some of the bosses along the way. I would also recommend Mrs. Chalice but that’s up to your play style. Anyways great play through and can’t wait for the next one!

Just some tips for the DLC
The attack in the red jar is essentially Chaser but better
you have the astral cookie in your charm selection equipping it lets you use Miss chalice for any Mission you have it equipped in
Be prepared for the cow as she will kick your ass

you should try playing as Chalice, the dlc was made with her double jump, dash parry, and dodge roll in mind, the relic only lets you find a secret, which leads to it changing to something else, use that as your charm in enough boss fights and it becomes every charm in the base game combined

If you're struggling cap, you should probably equip the cookie to use ms chalice, as all of the king's leap levels and bosses are based around her powers

Nice to see you play, please try chalice because her double jump makes it easier to avoid some attacks and her roll makes you invincible. Plus you can dash and parry at the same time

I get that the entire king’s leap is based on chess, but I think the devs knew exactly what they did. Not referencing chess, but people that say “take that L, and I’ll hold this W.”. I could be wrong but just look at the wording. “A ‘W’…” a win.

Cap you should use the magical cookie charm instead of the invisible dash because with the cookie one of the abilities you get is an invisible roll but you also get a double jump and a parry dash and also she has different weapons on plane levels too.
She also has 4hp instead of 3
You meant invincible not invisible right
But at the same time, she does take away from some of the challenge of the game (still choose her every time lol)
honestly i prefer if he uses cuphead cause it makes it stand out more from other youtubers,
the parry dash can both be a con and pro in some situations. you also sacrifice a charm slot to play as her.
I mean you guys can play the game as you want I just thought cap forgot about her because he only did the tutorial but then unequipped the cookie and did all of the other bosses with cuphead.
If you want a special mode you can all you have to do is get a p ranking in all the run n gun levels all you need to do is not kill ANYTING I think you would like the secret mode :)

I remember when he first started playing Cuphead and I feel really old now. It was the first playthrough of the game I'd ever wanted to watch and I wasn't disappointed.

I love how I haven’t played the cup head dlc. Normally when I watch these I know what’s coming because I’ve played the game, but I have never even seen the bosses in the dlc, so I’m just as surprised as he is with the bosses

When you get the broken relic, you need to use it to solve a puzzle at the gravestones, and also by using the advice from the people on the podium. If you solve the puzzle, it leads to a surprise.

Ms. Chalice makes the game so much fun, making it a hint easier, but you can’t use charms.
The broken relic will be useful for a secret boss, and to make it very useful.
And crack shot is best.

The cookie is a new charm that allows you to play as Ms. Chalice, which is extremely helpful, especially for the King's fights. Her abilities are helpful, such as her double jump, immunity roll, and perry dash, but she also has 4 HP instead of three. The last challenge from the King of Games is easy with her and tedious without her.
Another note: The broken relic is linked to a secret boss fight. You will not be hindered by the purchase. I won't give any more hints besides telling you to listen to a certain dead detective.
