March 12 (Bloomberg) --- The stolen passports used on Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 that disappeared over the weekend raised serious questions about passport security. Just how hard is it to doctor a stolen passport? Easier than you might think, but by 2018 it will be nearly impossible. My passport was stolen, while I was living in Newark. This was before 9/11 - 2001, but after Feb 1993.
So, I was determined to file a DS-64 form. After reporting is stolen, someone left a note on my front porch saying they found my passport.
Since I had problems with vandalism, I was so scared that the thieves, wanted me to pick it up to get moore information from me.
Didn't sleep for weeks after that. Real scary.
