It's a joke norm told on another conan visit where his wife is in a coma and his doctor tells him to perform oral sex to wake her up from the coma. Norm doesn't believe it will work but tries it anyway, comes out five minutes later, and says "doc, she's choking" implying he was putting the peepee in her mouth instead of going down on her. Conan reacts as you would expect and norm comments that it's just "modern medicine", in response to Conan's earlier remarking that norm has been sounding a lot like a radio host from the 1930's in his visit. I would have linked you the vid instead of describing it but honestly it would take me hours to find it because I don't remember which appearance it was.

The remark he made about “this is like when Donahue met Marlo” is referring to talk show host Phil Donahue falling in love with Marlo Thomas as he first interviewed her on his show. There were such sparks that they married. They are still married to this day. Perhaps Norm and Keke could’ve had that magic if Conan hadn’t been the worst wingman imaginable.

Grumpy Pentagon By Norm's advances? If you know anything about Norm, it's that he doesn't care much for sex. He said, in an interview, that he hasn't had sex in 10 years. I truly believe that what he said to Keke was real and came from his heart. I am positive it wasn't sexual.
It's nice to go back now and see Norm giving so much love to someone on the show. In videos I've now seen of his friends speaking about his passing, in particular Bob Saget, Bob mentions that Norm wasn't one to mince his words. If he told someone he loved them he ment every word.

Norm Macdonald had good taste, I too think Keke Palmer is beautiful. I remember when Akeelah and the Bee came out, I was 11 at the time and grew a massive crush on her, that scene where the boy kisses her and they have this funny moment together where he awkwardly asks if that was a hate crime or not, she laughs it off and that smile made my heart melt.
As far as I know, Norm could put on the charm to people he respected and effortlessly swoon them. Watching this, I believe Norm and Keke were genuine. He meant what he said, and she was genuinely flattered.

This is the closest I've seen of a late night show resembling Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show. 4 really talented, personable, and genuinely funny people playing off of each other, and making conversation that invites the audience to be part of the show by simply enjoying their banter.
