Brendan Fraser was the man of the 90's, he was just everywhere and I loved it. Encino Man was hilarious and The Mummy took me on an adventurous thrill ride. I was so enamored with him that in my late teens I watched George of the Jungle on the sneak to escape snickers from my friends. Brendan is an amazing actor whose body of work holds up for generations of fans to enjoy.

The look in his eyes when he gets all the applause and love of an audience truly shows how grateful he is . WE LOVE YOU BRENDAN!!!
I think one of the guys asking questions was trying to get him to cry but yeah he had a packed house and seemed very genuine and you can see the emotions on his face.

The thing is, from what I've heard in interviews and such, Brendan never expected this many people to actually love and appreciate his stuff in the way they do. In fact, that's the case with a number of celebrities who face backlash and criticism of their work once it falls out of favor, especially something they put their heart and soul into. And some actors and celebrities never get to find out how much they're loved. Look at someone like Robin Williams, for instance. Not only did he have a neurological disease (which many people didn't know about for the longest time), he was on a steady decline in terms of critical and audience appraisal for his movies and work. Many people would make fun of him and say he wasn't that talented. And then when he died, you had all these people come out and say how he made their childhoods with his movies, how great his standup sets were, and so on. Some were probably saying that before, but I remember it being drowned out by the negativity too. I mean who knows, if Robin had been able to see the same positive response from all these people like what Brendan is seeing now, is there a chance he could've turned things around or even made a comeback?
Robin Williams is just one example, though. There are many pop culture figures who fall out of the spotlight, and they end up seeing the backlash more than the legitimate love from people who looked up to them in their prime. It doesn't always end in the way it ended with Robin, but I can imagine getting that kind of backlash can really eat away at people, especially if they don't see the positivity alongside it. Brendan literally had a massive room full of people, some who were standing in the back because they couldn't find seats, who came out because of how much they enjoyed his work. What I wanted to remind him was that those people showed out in droves for a reason. They wanted to see the man who entertained them for many years with his movies, and wanted to give back to him what he did for them, even if he didn't realize it at the time. You don't get THAT kind of crowd and response for nothing. There's that line in The Whale where he said he needs to know he's done one thing right with his life. You could interpret that as Brendan's own insecurity about his legacy and how he'll be remembered as an actor. Well to get the crowd he got, he's done way, WAY more than just one thing right.

June 2022 before they cancelled Batgirl. Brandon's description made me interested in seeing it.
@@RenegadeGeek that really pissed me off that they canned Batgirl, I really wanted to see it, for Brendan of course lol such a different role for him. Would have been great to see!
