Adi community is a big community and a pioneer in Arunachal history. But, ironically in this Siang dam issue only one lady is fighting against a mammoth government. Is there no other Adi senior male advocate and social worker against this mega Dam issue. For how long she ll fight this battle all alone. Those dam effected villagers are not fully educated and neither aware about their tribe rights and ways. Why others are not coming up for their support. Or does it means that, the Adi people are not serious about their own land and future and they are in support of this mega dam over mighty Siang river. Ultimately, choice is yours only. If you want then or not. But once this mega structure is built many villages will be displaced from their ancestors land and their paddy fields forever and later on there own be 2nd chance to regret. It is fine if you voted for which ever political party but save your ancestors property. Unlike, other rivers Siang is a big river and building dam there will be a big challenge for the govt too and in the process, there will be innumerable numbers of labour migration from out side the state which will over power the indigenous Adi population in the Siang belt for sure and a demographic change will also be there. Anyways, good luck to the Adi - Minyong community, it is now or never. 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Because that lady wants to eats money🤣she dont care about the dangers that will be face if the dam gets leak…it will make 100x worse & sweep away the nearby villages & their land. I think she’s from bihar or outside state cos she dont care about indigineous people problems. Majority are not allowing because they know the ressult.

@@fofogam that is my point, this mega dam or siang dam is a national issue and it is going to effect thousands of lives of a particular population, then why she is always found shouting and revolting alone most of the time, like her why can’t there be more senior leaders and citizens from Adi community. Govt has all the machineries they can easily suppress her voice if she is left alone with those land affected villagers.

Mega Dam construction will forever snatch the land and natural resources of villagers and land affected people. If hydroelectric project is really to be done for the people, then mini hydel projects will be the best option to generate power instead of mega dam.
Land compensation will only provide short term material or financial needs of people however with forever permanent consequences. Receipt of compensation amount would instantly cease rights of land owner and then shift the land ownership rights to corporates. Further, reclamation of land in future will no more be an option. Even entry to the same area for any kind of activity would not be permitted to anybody.
Employment opportunity, even if available, will only be restricted to grade C & D i.e.mostly unskilled jobs. That too is not sure to be given in time, take example of Pare HEP where locals are still sitting on protest due to non fulfillment of employment promises made by NEEPCO.
WHEREAS, non tribal working population will become more than locals in project area. In the name of skill, non tribals will be hired mostly. Locals will be kept at bay for lack of skills and required technical know how.
Issue like China constructing mega dam in upstream area and its impact on our area is not a proven fact. This could be a fake narrative to convince and manipulate the local people.
Govt.officers/officials will sympathetically appeal and try to manipulate the ignorant villagers but the fact is they are not going to have any losses out of mega dam. Today they are serving in Siang and Upper Siang but they will return to their hometown tomorrow.
Electoral value of locals will become subordinate to non tribals because, for a person to be eligible to enroll in new place a person must be continuosly residing in a particular place, say workplace. Hence, major electoral value will be enjoyed by non tribals completely. Look at the condition of Itanagar, Namsai, Pasighat etc; non tribals have a major share of votes.
Age old farming and natural traditional activities will be lost forever, which is completely irreversible.
Other mega dams like Ranganadi, Subansiri, Dibang, are far more than sufficient to give seamless power supply to entire Arunachal Pradesh. Rather, power supplies are now given to other States like Assam, Bihar etc. We don't need more dams in Arunachal.
Compensation amount is temporary relief, once it is consumed people will have to part with their lands and will not have any fertile ground for farming and re-settlement. Compensation is the best tool of govt.and corporate sectors to lure the poor people. It is easy in words to say re-settlement, rehabilitation etc. but practically impossible in hilly areas like Arunachal Pradesh. Although Arunachal Pradesh is significanly large area wise, but habitable area is very less due to terrains and hills
The villagers will be the most affected people in such scenario. But, those who have land in villages yet living in towns or city will always try to manipulate and support construction of dam to take compensation money.
Road and other infrastructure development are the work of government anyhow. Any which way a welfare govt.is bound with duty to provide Health, Education , Road etc to the people.

Even Assam should protest against this dam project. Not only Arunachal Pradesh (adi belt). Everyone will face the same problem if it's constructed.
Dam should be built with a legal agreement that it will only give job to adi youth in future forever in that way building dam is actually good.

And for Assam they don't really want arunachal to be successfully and prosper. With power and jobs, as they sell most of their power to us arunachal they earn alot.
They says overflow dam when released will flood Assam but that's not the case as you see that every year when it rains floods comes,so with dams only very few portion of water is released during overflow so instead of flood every year why don't Assam have floods,10-15 years now and than with advance warnings,readyness,beforehand it released.

Our ancestors were stupid to reject the capital city as pasighat and we youth keep wasting alot of money going there for studies and other govt. Jobs of office work.

They have their own reasons and we have our own.Also the main question is that if the affected people are against it then why the authorities are hell bent to construct the dam. It's like not having any right over our land that we've been residing over for centuries. Thirdly, I'd like you to kindly do some research about how much area the reservoir of the dam is going to submerge. And we Adis are not close minded and anti development people. It is just that we are aware of such destructive development that may cripple our existence in the future. Building dams has its advantages, such as water storage management and hydroelectric power. However, in Arunachal Pradesh, we are blessed with abundant rivers, so there is no need for additional water storage. Additionally, we already have enough hydroelectric power and do not require more energy from new dams. Building more dams creates problems, including environmental impacts and loss of biodiversity. Therefore, I am totally against building more dams.

Pasighat town & ayeng village place are most probably to get drown if the dam is constructed.
All the agriculture,forest areas and other lands will be in danger to get drown if the dam is constructed.
Also it need the ayeng village people(padam community)as their land is direct on the right side of siang where the dam is nearly to be constructed. Majority of people are against it so there is no chance at all.

We will never compromise with our motherland. Yes to dam means killing our own mother for money. Villages will be dislocated, outsider settlement will overpower local populace, our identity will be lost forever. Politicians speak as if there are two options. No, there is one n only option, i.e, NO TO DAM.
A very wise decision by the Adi Community people. They know better the consequences of corrupted government and their corrupted Engineers and contractors. Day before yesterday we all saw what happened in Itanagar and now they are giving us false hope of building a guaranteed Dam in Siang District.
