  • New Orleanians have a special relationship to the mysterious calendar of Easter because it also determines the date of Mardi Gras each year. This 2008 Easter Parade was the first to roll down New Orleans' St. Claude Ave. in many years. In those early post-Katrina days it was difficult to imagine the bohemian disneyland the Bywater/Marigny neighborhood would become with the flood of hipster tourists brought by AIrBnB and the movie industry.
