This is so pretty on you! Darn it, another one I want to try but don’t need. Not sure why I keep looking though. Every time I wear Lisa Eldridge I look in the mirror and go “wow!”. Looks better as the day goes on too.

Cricket sounds are something I associate with August, not November. Loved hearing them. Thank you for this review. MAC F&B old formula is one of my favorites, but I'm still working on it as I have many foundations that I enjoy. But now I know this reformulation will probably work for me, too. I like serum foundations for the natural glow they give. Sure I can add a highlighter but on almost 80 year old skin, a natural glow for daytime looks best IMO.
That bronzer is awesome. It looks like it’s shading, which is what it’s supposed to do. When I was young, we didn’t do “bronzers”. We did contour. That’s what we called it. Went to the same places as bronzers today, except most bronzers today are ridiculous. This one is perfect. It does the job, but you can’t see it doing the job. Awesome!
I wear 2CR in the Forever Skin Glow, but the 2CR in the Backstage was so much darker. Had to return it.
That looks so beautiful on you. The old formula was the one I grabbed when I wanted to look good for a long day. Thank goodness they didn’t ruin it.
I’m so happy to hear this formulation works for you. This is my favorite Dior foundation because it’s not as heavily fragranced as the others. I have an aversion to the fragrance in Dior foundations.
Which do you like better this new Dior or Haus Labs? 💖😊
Since their finishes are different I wouldn’t directly compare them. Equal quality but I’d pick Haus if I wanted a more dewy look and Dior for a more matte look.

I feel like they're necessary because any kind of camera/studio lighting naturally makes skin look more smooth than it actually is unless you're really zoomed in. That's why thumbnails from foundations that look horrible on me even look good. Distance and good lighting can work wonders - which is fine except when they goal is to show the actual true appearance of a product 🤣

Oh, thank goodness *phew* It was my all-time favourite foundation, especially for summer. I was so worried when I heard they reformulated. Thank you for testing it for us. I did hear the shades have changed, so I may test shades in store.

Hello, you know, I live in Chile and I have always taken my foundation decisions into account based on your recommendations, because I have dry skin like you, you describe the foundations very well, I am 46 and if you approve of it and I like the finish, I will think about buying it. , I have the original Mac face and body and the L'Oréal serum foundation, the one with the dropper, because I saw your full review and I don't have any more makeup bases. Happy Birthday! You'd have been a year behind me in high school, definitely one of the Juniors I'd have deigned to hang out with Senior year. A-MAZE-ing foundation here, it really stands up to the daylight check-in. Those shades look a bit warm to my eye for neutrals; perhaps if I try this I'd go for an N. And that blush? Invisible on the skin, no color-shifting or fading after 8 hours, no wonder you keep reaching for it. P.S. My 6-month-old kitten Enzo loves to watch you--first of all he curled up on my lap to watch; then when I paused the video he REACHED OUT HIS PAW and hit the space bar again to re-start the video! Be advised that it's the second time he has done this with one of your review videos.

This foundation was super glowy on me but I like that. Also, I always use a lot of skincare under my foundation.

It was the first foundation ever to score 100% after I’d reviewed like 300 foundations. I have 2 shades so I can wear it year round. So good!!
Happy belated birthday, Shelly! I have a question: if you had to choose only one foundation, which one would you choose from these favorite of yours: Dior F&B, Nars Light Reflecting, Guerlain Terracotta or Haus Lab? Remember, only one!
It would be tough, as Haus has become an everyday work-wear for me. Nars and Guerlain have both stood up to very humid travel. And Dior is fantastic for long-wear events. They all have their place :) but if I could only pick one, I'd go by my preferred finish on an everyday basis, which would eliminate the Dior (I don't wear matte anywhere near as often as I wear dewy). Then it would be between Nars and Guerlain as they scored just a smidge higher than the Haus. And between those two, I'd probably go with Guerlain for its mind-blowing smoothing, but that's setting aside the phenomenal wear of the Nars. But I don't need the extra wear as often as I need the exceptional smoothing, so Guerlain wins.
@@goowI enjoyed reading this response, Shelly. Do you find the Guerlain to be dewy then?? I’ve never met a dewy foundation that’s super smoothing on my enlarged pores.

They’re both great but the finishes are different. Guerlain is more of a dewy finish while this Dior is matte.

I saw a new foundation on Ulta that looked interesting Revlon Illuminance it had vitamin c thd in it thought it would pro be super dewy… maybe that’s exactly what u were taking g about huh! I like a more satin matte natural finish

I just purchased this! Still trying to see how I like it. How would you compare this to some of your top foundations: Saie, Haus Labs, NARS Light Reflecting & Guerlain? Would you put this new Dior in your top foundations now after trying it?
It's way up there in my favorites with the only downside being I don't reach for a matte finish as often as I reach for the others which are more dewy. I'm in a dewy phase :)

Just as a tangent about Dior: they are *constantly* changing their logo, which is no big deal for makeup but can make their bags and belts look dated sooner than they should, I don’t like that tactic personally even though I love the romantic history of Dior from a fashion perspective. Anyhoo, thanks for testing these expensive products for us, Shelly!!

Love your honest reviews, thank you - I just subscribed. Have you tried Cle De Peau (super luxury $138.00) either Radiant Matt or Radiant Natural or Lisa Eldridge Foundation? If so, what is your opinion? The Dior looks beautiful on you. I just picked up the Forever Glow foundation, wishing I got the other Dior one after watching your video. I have very dry skin.

I haven't tried any Cle De Peau yet, but I do have the Lisa Eldridge Seamless Skin (and it is lovely - scored an A) - czcams.com/video/Aarcfjq-dus/video.html You might end up liking the Dior Forever Glow - it scored an A with me too and at least with their last handful of releases, I've been able to wear Dior with no problems. They do really well with my skin, even the mattes (which is rare for me).

You have the most lovely skin. I swear, I thought you were in your twenties. I am 44, and I can see these tiny lines and I hate it so much. I am trying to embrace, but it is hard. I have this incredibly oily T zone area, like teenager quality, and the rest is normal to dry. :/ So, it is a pain to figure out what to buy. I love the way you make your videos, and I know you are a dry skin gal, but I always like to try what you are loving. Maybe one day my oil will dry up. HAHA!
Thank you!! Have you tried any bakuchiol products? I'm actually debating canceling my tretinoin prescription/subscription and seeing if I have any sort of "back-slide" using bakuchiol instead. It needs more research but what's out there is quite promising in its similarity to what retinols can do, and I get no irritation at all from it (where I still get occasional peeling from tretinoin even though I've been using it for years).
I have not, but I am going to research it now! I have struggled with my retinoid, and can only use twice a week due to the irritation. I hate that. LOL! I hope the new product works out!@@goow

I think of luminous as meaning the foundation has some reflect, not dewy necessarily.

The 101 Contoured Foundation brush! I love the contour. It can also get up under my eyes if I'm skipping concealer and want to just use foundation everywhere.
U lost me at alcohol .. why do all these brands even these ones who say skin care ingredients put alcohol ?? Us sensitive and dry people can’t do it .. after several days my skin acts up Everytime when alcohol is included

Good question.
I'd choose based on finish since they're a bit different from each other. Quality is right up there but Guerlain is more dewy where this Dior is more matte - so it would depend what I wanted to wear. The Guerlain is also more heavily perfumed if that plays a role (it doesn't bother me).
