There IS life after 60 inderd & this movie personifies that with action adventure comedy drama romance heartache & decades old rivalry between two men who come to realize that they were really friends all along. I love happy endings!
As a kid I never realized that this was supposed to be a surprise and that they were trying to trick the audience into thinking that this was Jacob and Melanie's wedding
they did the same thing in the first film. Jacob and Melanie are outside in the cold wearing black talking about Melanie's divorce and how she was staying at Johns for a bit. Then you hear crying and Grandpa Gustafson tells them to get inside and then Jacob takes off his coat revealing a tux and this is a wedding for John rather than his funeral lol.
@Patrick Kanas That's true. When I first saw this movie I thought Jake and Melanie were getting married since Jake kept wondering where his father was like he was Jake's Best Man. But when I saw Max and Maria getting married, I got surprised and that is great they got married because it shows how the two grumpy men got a woman of their own.
@@afriendofbean i had hoped nad wondered if they do wedding for Jake and Melanie once and for all but I was glad they eloped. Still would have loved one last Grumpy Old Men movie!
@@Bull1908 I guess Jake and Melanie felt they were better off being friends only instead of married since I think the reason Melanie disagreed with the idea of them getting married was because she was tired of their fathers always arguing and with them getting married would make more arguments. Also yes, I would have loved if they made a third film titled "Grumpiest Old Men" since the first film was "Grumpy Old Men" and the second film was "Grumpier Old Men." If they were going to make it, they should have done it before Jack Lemmon and Walter Matheau died especially I would have loved to see how Maria's restaurant became a bait shop too as seen on the sign.
It's too bad they didn't make a third film before Jack Lemmon and Walter Matheau died where a good title could be "Grumpiest Old Men" with the first film as "Grumpy Old Men" and the second film as "Grumpier Old Men."
said it had to do with the bad turn out for their next 2 films together: out to sea and Odd Couple II. Meanwhile I'm sure Ann-Margaret and Sofia Loren's availabilities were a factor in it never happening cause both those ladies NEEDED to be back! There was also written somewhere that they had an Italian actor who was suppose to play Antonio in the film but he died and all of those things prevented that "Grumpiest Old Men" movie from ever happening which I wished did happen too. Then finally Matthau's death in 2000 ended any hope of it.
@@Bull1908 I never knew about all this but, maybe they were going to start rehearsals for "Grumpiest Old Men" (that is, if they were making one) but, Walter Matthau wasn't doing very well and they didn't want to replace his character as Max Goldman with anyone else so maybe the director chose not to do a third film because of that and I know Jack Lemmon died one year after Walter Matthau died. However, it would have been great if they did a third film.

0:28 the look on Ariel’s face when John pulls that fish out of his pocket 😆
Do you suppose that wasn't in their copy of the script?
Darryl Hannah looks like she wasn't ready for that.
Ann Magaret and Sophia looks amazing, really beautiful
I lose it when he pulls the fish out of his tux pocket haha
What a putz
Oh God she is beautiful.
Sophia Loren, even at 61 she was smoking hot!
Don't forget about Ann-Margret as well.
Phillip Ivey Yes Ann too, a classic beauty but Sophia’s sex appeal is off the charts at 61! That’s quite something
Knockout, a real piece of ass
Dude....
My son-in-law has the face of a mackerel.
I can't argue with that assessment. Remember, Sophia's husband was Carlo Ponti and he wasn't much better looking.
Lol
My son-in-law has got a face of a mackerel.
Max would have taken that as a compliment

@@afriendofbean actually they eloped lol. Jacob held up a wedding band saying they did it when Melanie said see what they missed
RIP to the actors that passed away: Jack Lemmon, Walther Matthau, Burgess Meredith and Ann Morgan Guilbert
When Ragettis also started selling bait I wonder if Max ran the bait shop while Maria and her mom ran the restaurant.
This was filmed in my church!
No way for real
She i very beautiful woman.
She is Gorgeous
Divina con tutto sempicemente meravigliosa !!!
