  • All-Star point guard Deron Williams, the #3 overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft, made his NBA debut for the Utah Jazz November 2, 2005 against the Dallas Mavericks.
In his first game, Deron played 26 minutes and scored 18 points along with 3 assists and 3 rebounds. He shot an efficient 7 of 14 from the field and 3 of 4 from behind the 3pt-line, including a spetacular 65-footer to end the 3rd-qtr (1:32-mark).
Despite trailing most of the game, the Jazz turned it on in the 4th-qtr, outscoring the Mavs 28-15 in the final period. Down the stretch, Deron was able to find Mehmet Okur for several open jumpers, and Okur capped the night with a ridiculous off-balance fadeaway from 26-feet that he banked in with the shotclock expiring (5:20-mark) to seal Utah's suprising 93-82 victory.
In five and a half seasons with the Jazz, Deron Williams would blossom into an All-Star and one of the best point guards in the NBA.
