I don't usually comment but this time I really had to. Thank you so much Nurse Juan for going over all the details and possible scenarios from a different perspective. As someone closely related to the nurse who had to go through this (inserting of IV), I wish to defend her. She had gone through all the necessary procedures as soon as she wasn't able to insert in the first try (immediate removal, compression, calling an IV expert and notifying her staff). In fact, she is known in her unit for being someone who calls on her head nurse or an IV expert as soon as she doesn't get it on her FIRST try which even sometimes annoys her fellow colleagues. She is someone who is so full of compassion and is very bubbly, something that is loved by many of the patients under her. This experience had truly affected her mental health but being the very strong hearted person that she is, she's still working hard and being very dedicated to her patients. Thank you so so much for validating her. 🙏

Thank you Nurse Juan for being one of the voice of our Filipino nurses. I’m an ER nurse for 7 years and I still missed IV insertion. Never happened to my experience na sisisihin ang missed IV insertion for sepsis 😅, only in the Philippines. I feel sorry for the loss of the family, but I know our nurses are equipped with knowledge and knows how to do nursing skills and procedures. Since we started our day 1 in nursing school they already instilled in our mind that “Our priority is patient safety”.
To the nurse involved, I know you always do your best to take care all your patients. We appreciate you! Hugs and a big tap on your shoulder 🫂💙

Bias..sa family po,hindi po criminal ang mga Nurses.u have to understand that we prioritize our care.sana naghire nalang kau ng private nurse.feeling nyo porket nasa st. luke kau nabili nyo na ang nurse sa dami ba naman ng ratio jan sa pinas.magbasa po kayo about sa case ng misis nyo para malaman nyo kung ano ang possible na maging prognosis ng sakit nya para maeducate po kau.lahat na lang sinisisi sa Nurse.ano ba naman yan.nakakadismaya.alam nyo po kapag masama ugali ng mga relatives madalas hindi gumagaling ang mga pasyente.resistant kayo sa care ng mga Nurses.choosy kayo.maghire po kayo ng private Nurse nyo.
