Just something about Sawantwadi. Before 1961, Goa was under Portuguese rule administered by the govt of Portugal. At that time many Marathi groups were protesting against the foreign rulers of Goa.There was a movement by protesters to ask the foreigners to go back to their own country and give Goa back to India. The Portuguese army arrested the Marathi protesters at the border of Goa and Bombay State. The Portuguese army made the Indian captives to strip and sit on large ice cubes. This Sawantwadi was the area of the clash of Marathi people with foreign occupiers.Those times Bombay State was there which comprised of present Gujarat and Maharashtra.
In konkan area try SOLKADHI Drink and Kokum. Sharbat.Even the local mango juice is also very tastee.For lunch they will give thick Mango puree.
