Having your character deleted in previous gen after migrating to new gen is one thing, but if you have supportive friends who still play on previous gen, they can help you get back on your feet again with leveling up and money.

Hey yo for everyone transferring your data, DO NOT. It will delete your save data on the PS4/Xbone, which means you'll have to create a new character just to play with your last gen friends due to there being no cross play of any kind. What I'd do is just create a new character on the next gen version since a lot of people still don't have the next gen consoles yet so that way you can still play with most of your friends, plus you get 4 Million dollars right out of the gate so you have a solid foundation to work with. Ofc this would be a non issue if Rockstar were to wake up and enable crossplay, at least between last gen and next gen consoles within the same family 🙄
I heard they can’t do cross play, due to the fact that next Gen versions have faster load in for the in game objects and more traffic/different traffic behaviors. It wouldn’t be the same on both platforms. And there’s a few other differences that would prevent cross play. It’s the same game, but it’s also technically a different game because of the changes that Rockstar made to the game.
So is it all good to make a new character online on PS5 and migrate my old PS4 character at a later date? Just so I can play the PS5 version online until then…

You can't play with your friends on xbox one when you are playing the new version, the old version you can still play with them. What I meant in the video was that if you still play the Xbox one edition then you're account will be gone when you transfer

So is it possible to transfer your old account to next gen to the first slot and on the second slot you can start with a new online character from next gen? and can you later switch between them?
When you sign into your social club on ps5 it will give you the option to select your ps4 or Xbox gamertag to transfer but whatever one you chose the last gen version will be deleted for your old console
@@bradymacneill2274 the only way you can do that if your xbox and playstation account have separate social clubs and even after that you have to put it on a new Xbox live account or psn account. So for example say playstation is your man account right you transfer that over to ps5 now you have your xbox account you have created a secondary account on your ps5 and sign in with that but you have separate social clubs for each of those accounts.
After I started GTA Online on PS3, I transferred to PC. I tried all the time to PS4, never work. I hoped that I could transfer now to next gen ps5 and no not possible. Such a trash. Lvl 400
So from what I understand, you can transfer online characters anytime. But if you upload your story mode to Rockstar Social account, you have 90 days to upload it the story mode of GTA V on Xbox Series S/X and PS5. At least that’s my understanding of it.

I had been stuck on a black screen for 40 minutes afraid of turning off the app. My brother turn his off then back on and now he's on. I did the same and now we're online. The first time it got stuck on 90% so turn it off then back on and you're good
You can migrate your ps4 online account at a later date even after you create a new ps5 online account, but who knows how long they will leave it up, hopefully that helps

If you are looking to switch from Xbox 1 to PlayStation/ps4 to Xbox series X Step 1: login to your social club account on the web (don’t login on the gta online start up menu because it can still take the correct account but it’ll be link to a new account so don’t) Step 2: login on your previous platform for example I had an Xbox one so I logged in on my Microsoft account for social club Step 3: go to settings and tap on the linked accounts button and then tap on the platform you want your data linked on Step 4; pause gta online, go on online and migrate profile and it should be there I made this cause I had a lil difficulty going from Xbox to PlayStationbut if you have any issues lemme know lmao

Normally if you have never played gta 5 on playstation you will get this. If you don't get this then you probably played the ps4 version already on that account, then what you have to do is don't migrate and in free mode go to options, online, migrate profile and then log in to social club

@@bradymacneill2274 the only way you can do that if your xbox and playstation account have separate social clubs and even after that you have to put it on a new Xbox live account or psn account.
So for example say playstation is your man account right you transfer that over to ps5 now you have your xbox account you have created a secondary account on your ps5 and sign in with that but you have separate social clubs for each of those accounts.
Also if you talking about the 2 character slots on gta 5 no you can't have both your xbox and playstation on the same account

So from what I understand, you can transfer online characters anytime. But if you upload your story mode to Rockstar Social account, you have 90 days to upload it the story mode of GTA V on Xbox Series S/X and PS5. At least that’s my understanding of it.
@@bawsarnold Im pretty sure they removed the transfer option from 360 and ps3 because people were tranfering modded accounts so they got rid of it to stop it

I had been stuck on a black screen for 40 minutes afraid of turning off the app. My brother turn his off then back on and now he's on. I did the same and now we're online. The first time it got stuck on 90% so turn it off then back on and you're good

You can migrate your ps4 online account at a later date even after you create a new ps5 online account, but who knows how long they will leave it up, hopefully that helps
Yes you can migrate later but I think then you will overwrite the ps5 character you made first

Hi there Iv just gone from Xbox to ps5 and I didn’t have the option to sign into social club? Where do I find this please?
If you are looking to switch from Xbox 1 to PlayStation/ps4 to Xbox series X
Step 1: login to your social club account on the web (don’t login on the gta online start up menu because it can still take the correct account but it’ll be link to a new account so don’t)
Step 2: login on your previous platform for example I had an Xbox one so I logged in on my Microsoft account for social club
Step 3: go to settings and tap on the linked accounts button and then tap on the platform you want your data linked on
Step 4; pause gta online, go on online and migrate profile and it should be there
I made this cause I had a lil difficulty going from Xbox to PlayStationbut if you have any issues lemme know lmao

Normally if you have never played gta 5 on playstation you will get this. If you don't get this then you probably played the ps4 version already on that account, then what you have to do is don't migrate and in free mode go to options, online, migrate profile and then log in to social club
