This might seem a bit arbitrary but they're steadily increasing in terms of Spotify monthly listeners, last year they were somewhere around 200-300k but right now they're at almost 600k. I think they can reach 1 mill by the end of the year, especially if they keep touring and/or if they release another album this year.
Oh they will be. They only have a few EPs out right now, and they're already touring different countries. I saw them in Phoenix and a good majority of the crowd was singing along. So I can only imagine how strong their fanbase is in L.A, New York, and other countries. I give them 10 years to play in slightly larger venues. 25 years at most for stadiums & arenas. I remember seeing Muse at the Marquee Theater in Phoenix in 2004. Now 2019, they are really going all out with their fucking stadiums.
@@Chuggington_Videos thank you brother.. because most of us had been in the depth and height of exploring the music.. in my case I learn to judge good quality and not.
@@Chuggington_Videos I think synthwave is a way for metalheads to listen to music that might as well be mainstream. Because appreciating pop is often frowned upon, while there is plenty of pop music that is very well crafted. Synthwave is also a very wide genre, from very hard to "nobody will bat an eye if this is played on the radio". I regularly visit metal concerts and listen to a lot of metal but I won't identify myself as a metalhead because I do not agree with a lot of the attitudes and dogmas within the metal scene.
I have to say something and it’s important to me. I am 39 and a music producer in the uk. I been making bass music the last 10 years or so which involves a tonne of sound design which can be quite the graft. I’m really contemplating dropping it all and making Synthwave music. Everything about all this stuff hits my heart with a passion. I listen to all kinds of stuff but in all honesty this and FM84 , WOLFCLUB etc is the first time in maybe 20 years that I have that “FEELING” in my stomach when I listen to this. I know that it’s not gonna be some major chart success music for me or many of these bands but I’m starting to believe that it can have its core audience and fans who will always support it cos it’s good music. I don’t know guys I just needed to post this cos it’s been on my mind a lot the last couple of months and I would be more than happy to go on Stage and perform music like this to 2-300 people as my work and gigs. You can see how this actually means something to the group and everyone that is there. People that actually GET IT. Sorry to ramble. Just love to this band and all the Synthwave lovers who really feel for this music.
Go for it buddy the more of this stuff the better, im 40 and have been waiting for music like this my whole life. it just feels so special to me. Give me the heart of the phoenix lol. and i mean that hahhaha
i dont get it: why they are still performing in front of 100-200 people, they should fill the stadium with 50k, this music is dope, Berlin 2019 is waiting for you!!!
kwonas83 id rather have them perform in smaller crowds sold out 3 times a day, there’s no way I would get the same experience being this close from a stadium concert
Within a span of one year I saw them play a sold out show (one of I think three) at The Independent in SF (capacity ~500) to the Fox Theater in Oakland (capacity ~3,000). They said that was their biggest venue to date. That is an incredible increase in venue quality too. The Independent is meh when it comes to sound and ambiance. The Fox on the other hand, is world-class.
You know what is absolutely wonderful? Synthwave will never ever die out, it's truly amazing and this track shows the demand for it. The 80s were truly the best times
Is no one going to give mad props to the sax player? I mean we always give them dirt for playing tracks live but the sax guy really just wings the whole thing and goes without a mention
They had a different sax guy called Jacob who is absolutely amazing. Search "The Midnight - Sunset [LIVE IN STOCKHOLM SÖDRA TEATERN]" on CZcams. I have no idea why they didn't keep him on.
I am HOOKED buddy! 70's baby, 80's kid/teen and this is it! I've said it before on other vids that bring me back to the 80's, this makes me think we all grew up in the SAME town, on the same street and now 30-40 yrs later wished we could could go right back. Love to all my 80's family!
I'm a huge fan, been listening to their music for about a year ... And it was really fun and crazy for me to realize that Tim is Danish, like me, and his father is a very well-known musician and entertainer here. Imagine that.
As a metal fan, i always find synthwave music the type id listen to whenever i needed a reset. I mean loud and rough is what keeps me going but retro music will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for making awesome music The Midnight, and thank you for uploading this :)
I’ve already downloaded every gosh darn song they have on Apple Music & I can’t get enough! Dude, how is this band not on every station, winning every Grammy?!
What a drag the guitar solo wasn’t even loud on the PA....but as usual the midnight is so into the music the crowd doesn’t skip a beat. This band has been life changing and they are the most incredible artist out in the ages of our generation. If you know the midnight as a band be fortunate , it’s not everyday your blessed to hear music with such PASSION!
God damn if this isn't music for the soul.Los Angeles, Light Years and then We move forward. The one pleasure i've had from this CoVID19 disaster is discovering heart of making time to listen to music again. Please come back to the UK when this is all over - please x
I agree brother! Do you have any more bands that make you feel something similar? For me its the band camino, night traveler, the midnight, and guilty conscience by 070shake
I am so obssed with this band! I mean, all of their songS are great, I've been trying to find a bad song from The Midnight and it's literally impossible, lol. This is by far one of the best evolutions of music talent there is, from the lyrics, to the music, to the artists J E S U S!!!!. Keep on rocking my life as well as many others :)! U got yourself a fan for LIFE!
The midnight songs is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 i hope many people get more attention to their wonderful songs. It's really takes me back to 80s era even i'm not born in that year though. ✨✨

I live right down the street from Brighton Music Hall so I got tickets to go with a couple different groups of friends two nights in a row! It's gonna be awesome!
This band deserves to be really huge.
Exactly. I want to hear a an arena of 45,000 singing this song. It'd be amazing.
One day Synthwave will be the most popular genre. It's just an overlooked genre right now.

The 80's in 2019... Incredible nostalgia
I was screaming my heart out during this performance. The vibes were unreal. Outside in the heart of San Diego.
2021 needs to start with this...
OH man, that energy, the crowd is guuud. This band is so amazing, that crazy saaaaaaax. yeeehh
You know what is absolutely wonderful? Synthwave will never ever die out, it's truly amazing and this track shows the demand for it. The 80s were truly the best times
The Midnight and Kalax's songs are the official soundtracks of my fantasies 😘

70s baby and 80’s kid/teen too ... What a magical time the 80’s decade was and I’d give anything to go back in time and have a redo.
i love all your exclamation points!
Thank you The Midnight for bringing back that 80s sound!
WOW, even when performing live, the vibe, atmosphere, and spirit of the song is still radiating amazingly.. and that sax, damn
Seriously to sound this authentic in live performances truly shows how talented they are..
They just play the track.. except for sax and vocals, thats live
Those guys wasn't aware what privilege they had to watch The Midnight live. In my country, people can only dream to see them one day in live concert.
The excess of backtracks and some guys pretending to play still bothers me in their live performance. But their music is phenomenal.
The group has done the imposible, making music with a heart and soul in modern times!!!!!
They really capture the modern feel. America 2 is just a wonderful example of that.
Music that creates feelings and flashes of memories of everyone's past
Couldn't have said it better *__*

Love this song,, it sounds so 80's, i wanna dance, give a big hug and kiss to the love of my life,,, will listen it forever

Oh yeah, as a metalhead too I noticed that synthwave - synthpop music is what makes us relax and recharge
Couldn't agree more. It's our soft side.
This guy is one of the best guitarists I’ve ever heard & I can’t hear a goddamned thing when he plays. His solos are freakin instant classics.

My fav band
Faked our deaths
Lit a match
Closed the door
Waited for the flash
Greyhound Station
we paid in cash
Miss Lazarus, we're coming back
They say it's darkest before the dawn
We've been in this town for far too long
They say it's darkest before the dawn
We're moving on
Sunset
No regrets
First chance last dance
Stuck in the middle
Even bad girls know good love
You taste so sweet it hurts a little
Make our home
Where we stand
One suitcase
And half a plan
Follow the wolves
And sing along
Past the voices
To the Song
I love the nostalgia sound... The '80s
We need that sax guy on a studio recorded version.
