- The O’Reilly Auto Parts 150 at Mid-Ohio started off with the windshield wipers on as drivers raced away into the rain. After a start riddled with cautions and spin outs, Ben Rhodes secured the Stage 1 win. The speed picked up in Stage 2 after drivers were able to switch their tires. With the sunshine finally out, Ty Majeski found first place and secured the Stage 2 win. In the third stage, Corey Heim secured first place on his 21st birthday in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 150 at Mid-Ohio.

Thoughts on racing in the rain?
Never raced in the rain. Just waited till it stopped raining as usual

Real talent can drive in any conditions. Whether they believe they can, or they can't, they're right.
A hot mess, but it's good to see NASCAR trying out things like this.
Real racing means all conditions in my opinion.
I was there yesterday, the rain sucked but once the sun came out the track looked beautiful. I hope we can get a cup race here one time.
That Craftsman name looks so right on the trucks.
Indy Cars and F1 cars have their engines in the back or near middle of the car so there is more weight on the rear wheels. There is no weight in the back of these trucks, that is why they kept spinning.
And yet in wet conditions they spin as well . Nature of Wet conditions.
Mid-Ohio is arguably the most dificilt track in the country to drive in the wet. If you do not know the line you will spin. It's just the beast of mid ohio in the wet, zero grip.
They shouldve threw some bags of sand in the box
They'd spin a lot less if they were out of the race every time they get stuck in the sand. Maybe have to make an effort at controlling your vehicle.

Shout-out to Hailie Deegan, in less than one week she destroyed Noah Gragson's record for most crashes in a single race. Not to mention she still managed to finish 26th, which is better than her season average.
She would have been higher without that last spin she ran much better than 26th do t know what caused the spin but my guess is somebody as always dumped her for zero reason.
She was running top 15 once it dried up, then got taken out in the last couple laps and ruined her decent run
One lap or one race doesn't make a season, what is her average finish this season? What Cup teams are talking to her about moving up to Cup and joining their team?
@@thomasbarrett3175 Her average finish is 20.3. She's a dud in all motorsports racing, NOT just NASCAR. The stats/facts don't lie. No team is offering her a ride in a higher series.

I was wondering the same thing. I figure mid-pack shenanigans and an off track excursion were the culprits.
When she spun, Lawless Alan was behind her. My best guess, he dumped her for what happened at Nashville. What Deegan did at Nashville was an accident, this was unnecessary by Alan.
Of course, that is just a guess. If it did happen, I would deduct 25 points and fine $5K for aggressive behavior on the track.

She got unlucky in the last few laps, due to other teams and their strategies, as well as their aggression level and experience on road courses.
But, in all fairness, if Deegan stayed with Toyota, she probably would’ve had slightly better results.
If I had an Xfinity Series team that was underfunded, but still got Top 15s and Top 20s, I’d let her participate Part-Time at first and would determine her future from there.

I was watching her too, and she moved up towards the end, but during the caution flag was when she fell all the way back to the mid-20s. If the announcers would do a courtesy check for "the only female in the field," we might find that her pit crew had a slow pit stop. But has anyone thought of that? Noooooo..... There is such a thing as racing luck, and Hailie is experiencing a deep run of bad luck right now.

I don't really watch nascar but how else are they supposed to do it? These things have brick level aerodynamics, weigh 1500kg, have no abs or tc and are front engined They can't just send it like LMPs and GT cars. Lastly does NA dirt oval racing even race in the rain?

Just because there are some drivers doing better in Xfinity series then they were in the trucks. Doesn't mean other drivers will. Look at the stats. Of pass drivers.
