Remember the story of the prodigal son in the New Testament? The son offended his father, lived in the worst sins. But when he decided to go home the father awaited him full of love and received him with open arms. God loves you, he is NOT angry with you! He is full of joy that you have come back to him. He gladly forgives everything that you did. Ask him to help you to find peace and to forgive yourself. God is full of compassion, he doesn´t want you to suffer. He will help you gladly. God bless!

I'll do, go to a Orthodox Holy Catholic Apostolic Church on sunday and kneel, let the prayers come to you, stand up and bow your head in silent prayer as one with the church stay at this service for the entire time. After the service talk with the priest that want to come to this church. Go home and pray from a orthodox prayer book. Thank God in morging and wash yourself, set order your room (house) and return to God with a prayers before you go to work or school. When you a come home pray before diner, pray after diner. Then when you go to bed thank God because the day was good, say a prayer. Rinse and repeat, buy find that church and attend as much as you can.
The Jesus prayer has totally changed my way of looking at the world, people are no longer just people, the elements, life itself all has one of 2 directions. Either the direction eventually gets you to labor in Theosis onward to heaven or the direction eventually leads one to spiritual death and hell. Jesus prayer smooths out our rough edges of the soul and steers us silently in the right direction. It is a struggle! Even as I type this I am being tempted. Tempted to stop praying Jesus prayer or tempted to indulge in sin. May we suffocate the devils with the name of Jesus and keep moving towards God's reward for us ✝ 🙏

My wife's mother died two days ago and as she lived outside of European Union, it was impossible to get all necessary documents ready within few hours and go in this pandemic situation. This chant is heartstoppingly beautiful! It is profoundly sad the brothers and sisters are divided in the body of Christ on earth. (I'm a Catholic drawn to becoming a member of the Greek Orthodox community on theological grounds but still love the Catholic church.) Peace be with us all.

It's a complex subject, but yes demons can manifest during such states more easily.This is when it's urgent to pray. Look up Orthodox articles about demons on and/or better yet ask a priest! I am a wretched sinner in need of salvation. Until quite recently, thanks to the grace of God and the hard work I put in, I struggled with autism, depression, and anxiety. However, I still look at myself and wonder how easily I become detached from higher things and focus on my own desires whether it be my desire to date, desire to succeed, or desire to become stronger. None of them are inherently bad, but I end up making them idols. I sometimes do not prioritize God enough. Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a miserable sinner.

My mom was Protestant and went to church all the time, and so did dad when alive. When mom was old and was dying, she would fall asleep at my house when I played this prayer and the evening prayer. Our Father (Priest of monastery/church) came to see her while in hospital and before, even more than her own minister. We do not totally understand if mom understood what she said or not ,as she was in partial coma ,but out of no however she sat up and looked toward our Father( Now Abbot) and said " I love you!" Will never forget this. He could not re-baptize her as she was not able to give permission herself right at that time .

@@thegreekpro Thank you for letting me know this. She was not baptized by the Orthodox Church. She came to this point before the time had come. Our Father ( Priest now Abbot of our Church/Seminary/Monastery and a Bishop of another church) was going to do that in the hospital bed, but she ended up being unconscious and not able to answer about it herself. So he wanted to but needed her to tell him it was alright, and she wanted him to do it am sure, but she was not able to say this herself at that time. Am thankful our Lord does know our hearts and He truly would understand what was happening and why it could not happen that she could be baptized in time. Thank you.. May our Lord bless you always!

I'm an Irish Anglo Catholic, who know that in Christ I've been made alive onto God as my Heavenly Father. This chant come prayer give me sense of the presence of God in life . Why people who come from a Christian heritage seek after other gods through eastern meditation is beyond my understanding. Listen to this and one will never try eastern meditation again. Only Christianity heals the soul, only Christianity renews the heart. Why? because in Christ we are made right with God because. Only Christianity can deal with the the human heart. I am a Lutheran Christian and I hope that someday we will be in full communion with the Catholic and Orthodox Church. The Christ Pantocrator icon makes me think of how shameful the condition of Christians today is compared to that of Christians in the first centuries.
Luterano a noble sentiment but in all honesty I can't see what Lutheranism has to offer Orthodoxy that would enrich Orthodoxy. I've struggled to think of something but I really can't. I'm an Orthodox Christian who has come from a denomination aligned to Lutheranism so I know what I'm talking about and not being spiteful at all. If you can think of anything I'm happy for you.
Most Lutheran churches allow for the ordination of women. That alone pretty much guarantees there can never be a reestablishment of communion with Orthodoxy, even if Lutherans were to conform to Orthodoxy's core fundamental beliefs on everything else. At one point in the mid 20th century, there was dialogue between us and the Anglicans with many on both sides (including C.S. Lewis) expecting a recommunication of Anglicans with the Eastern Orthodox church. Talks broke down and pretty much ended the moment Anglicans began ordaining women to the priesthood. There are theological and scriptural reasons why the Eastern Orthodox Church is firm in its conviction against the ordination of women to the priesthood (though there is some debate over women in the diaconate, as there is historical and scriptural precedent for it, at least to serve certain roles)
I agree very much with Broadway on this, but to attempt to throw further light I would add that there is a general confusion between sex and gender. The prohibition by the earliest expressions of Christianity as they are exemplified by the Orthodox and Roman catholic denominations has nothing to do with sex and everything to do wit gender. The two are distinct. Even recent paintings suggesting that there were some churches in the fifth century (?) that ordained women bishops, this is far from clear and changes nothing. Scripture still is absent of evidence that Jesus went against cultural norms and appointed women in leadership roles. But even more important than this is to remember that Jesus isn't a Christian. Jesus is a Jew and the church came about as a result of the efforts of Paul over the efforts of Jesus' brother, James. The church was created in two camps, with Paul leading one and James leading the other. Paul effectively silenced James and sidelined him. The formation of the church from that point was directed by Paul, so trying to link Jesus with the rules of ordination are as pointless as they are fruitless.
I converted to eastern orthodox Russian orthodox religion 5 years ago this religion gave me peace and love and stability because I was going to the wrong path so this religion made me from not go to temptation of sin
There is power in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for me, all of my sin was nailed to the cross, and I am reconciled to Almighty God because my debt is paid, it is finished. Not thru any of my own efforts, but solely because of the faith I have in Jesus, His perfection, life, death and resurrection.

Nolan Swadds It is not judging a person to say that another religion is heresy. There's gentle ways to say it, for certain, but no one is judging this person's soul to say Christianity believes other religions to be of Satan. For isn't it true that people of other religions believe their chosen religion to be truth and all others in error that do not believe as they believe? So, there's a difference between judging a person and discerning or believing or speaking the truth about what is right or wrong. Be at peace. To say otherwise would be hypocritical as you are trying to correct another, yourself. There's nothing wrong about correcting another as long as it is done out of love and hopefully a spirit of gentleness with understanding of the limitations of our understanding and those of others.
Respecting people has nothing to do with the truth. God loves the world, to the point of sending His son to death on the cross, but there is justice and judgement and punishment. Modern people have this picture of a superficially nice Jesus that never upset people, never spoke the Truth, and made sure everyone was really happy with everything He said. The Truth is, Jesus reviled the religious leaders, divided families and transformed the spiritual state of the entire world. When the Pharisees were wrong, He called them vipers. I don't know what Lord and Savior you follow, but Jesus would speak the truth and not put on the illusion of universalism.
John Ray I agree completely. I only was making reference to the words of Jesus that when one falls into a sin that we correct them to return them to a state of health with a gentle spirit. This in no way contradicts the truth that you point out. There are some who are hardened to resist compassionate correction. Still, vengeance is God's. He desireth not the death of a sinner but that all should repent and live.

It's a complex subject, but yes demons can manifest during such states more easily.This is when it's urgent to pray. Look up Orthodox articles about demons on and/or better yet ask a priest! I am a wretched sinner in need of salvation. Until quite recently, thanks to the grace of God and the hard work I put in, I struggled with autism, depression, and anxiety. However, I still look at myself and wonder how easily I become detached from higher things and focus on my own desires whether it be my desire to date, desire to succeed, or desire to become stronger. None of them are inherently bad, but I end up making them idols. I sometimes do not prioritize God enough. Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a miserable sinner.

My mom was Protestant and went to church all the time, and so did dad when alive. When mom was old and was dying, she would fall asleep at my house when I played this prayer and the evening prayer. Our Father (Priest of monastery/church) came to see her while in hospital and before, even more than her own minister. We do not totally understand if mom understood what she said or not ,as she was in partial coma ,but out of no however she sat up and looked toward our Father( Now Abbot) and said " I love you!" Will never forget this. He could not re-baptize her as she was not able to give permission herself right at that time .

@@thegreekpro Thank you for letting me know this. She was not baptized by the Orthodox Church. She came to this point before the time had come. Our Father ( Priest now Abbot of our Church/Seminary/Monastery and a Bishop of another church) was going to do that in the hospital bed, but she ended up being unconscious and not able to answer about it herself. So he wanted to but needed her to tell him it was alright, and she wanted him to do it am sure, but she was not able to say this herself at that time. Am thankful our Lord does know our hearts and He truly would understand what was happening and why it could not happen that she could be baptized in time. Thank you.. May our Lord bless you always!

I am a Lutheran Christian and I hope that someday we will be in full communion with the Catholic and Orthodox Church. The Christ Pantocrator icon makes me think of how shameful the condition of Christians today is compared to that of Christians in the first centuries.

Luterano a noble sentiment but in all honesty I can't see what Lutheranism has to offer Orthodoxy that would enrich Orthodoxy. I've struggled to think of something but I really can't. I'm an Orthodox Christian who has come from a denomination aligned to Lutheranism so I know what I'm talking about and not being spiteful at all. If you can think of anything I'm happy for you.
Most Lutheran churches allow for the ordination of women. That alone pretty much guarantees there can never be a reestablishment of communion with Orthodoxy, even if Lutherans were to conform to Orthodoxy's core fundamental beliefs on everything else.
At one point in the mid 20th century, there was dialogue between us and the Anglicans with many on both sides (including C.S. Lewis) expecting a recommunication of Anglicans with the Eastern Orthodox church. Talks broke down and pretty much ended the moment Anglicans began ordaining women to the priesthood. There are theological and scriptural reasons why the Eastern Orthodox Church is firm in its conviction against the ordination of women to the priesthood (though there is some debate over women in the diaconate, as there is historical and scriptural precedent for it, at least to serve certain roles)
I agree very much with Broadway on this, but to attempt to throw further light I would add that there is a general confusion between sex and gender. The prohibition by the earliest expressions of Christianity as they are exemplified by the Orthodox and Roman catholic denominations has nothing to do with sex and everything to do wit gender. The two are distinct. Even recent paintings suggesting that there were some churches in the fifth century (?) that ordained women bishops, this is far from clear and changes nothing. Scripture still is absent of evidence that Jesus went against cultural norms and appointed women in leadership roles. But even more important than this is to remember that Jesus isn't a Christian. Jesus is a Jew and the church came about as a result of the efforts of Paul over the efforts of Jesus' brother, James. The church was created in two camps, with Paul leading one and James leading the other. Paul effectively silenced James and sidelined him. The formation of the church from that point was directed by Paul, so trying to link Jesus with the rules of ordination are as pointless as they are fruitless.

Nolan Swadds It is not judging a person to say that another religion is heresy. There's gentle ways to say it, for certain, but no one is judging this person's soul to say Christianity believes other religions to be of Satan. For isn't it true that people of other religions believe their chosen religion to be truth and all others in error that do not believe as they believe? So, there's a difference between judging a person and discerning or believing or speaking the truth about what is right or wrong. Be at peace. To say otherwise would be hypocritical as you are trying to correct another, yourself. There's nothing wrong about correcting another as long as it is done out of love and hopefully a spirit of gentleness with understanding of the limitations of our understanding and those of others.
Respecting people has nothing to do with the truth. God loves the world, to the point of sending His son to death on the cross, but there is justice and judgement and punishment. Modern people have this picture of a superficially nice Jesus that never upset people, never spoke the Truth, and made sure everyone was really happy with everything He said. The Truth is, Jesus reviled the religious leaders, divided families and transformed the spiritual state of the entire world.
When the Pharisees were wrong, He called them vipers. I don't know what Lord and Savior you follow, but Jesus would speak the truth and not put on the illusion of universalism.
John Ray I agree completely. I only was making reference to the words of Jesus that when one falls into a sin that we correct them to return them to a state of health with a gentle spirit. This in no way contradicts the truth that you point out. There are some who are hardened to resist compassionate correction. Still, vengeance is God's. He desireth not the death of a sinner but that all should repent and live.

Divine! But, what is the point of this holy words? Saying it in our minds day for day, will rise our mind, how to live in Christ, and what is his will... Cause not everybody who declares himself Christian is a Christian, but the one that fullfils the law of God... And to remember that there is always a God above us, who became a human for our salvation..... May the blessing of the Lord, our God spread Love in hearts of people... Christ between us amen! I'm struggling in the adversities of life if it's temptation, overthinking, holding on to my past, seeing my parents struggle, finances have not been going so well for my family, people showing me hate, making fun of me! But most importantly, I have betrayed God like Judas Iscariot just for Lust and Wrath, but I know that there is still hope, it's in God! Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, I am a sinner ✝️🙏🏻❤️.
