The best explanation ever!!! I am writting am an email to Etherfields creators, recomending that this video is used as introduction to the game👏great job!
Probably the highest production value I've ever seen on a board game tutorial, must have taken a crazy amount of editing and scripting for a game this complex. Only fault would be some grammatical errors ("PrePEAR"), but they added to the dream feeling of the game anyway. ;P
I bought Etherfields a few weeks ago because the game looked so interesting, but was kind of worried about the complexity of the game and some of the bad reviews it got, this is probably one of the best tutorials I have seen on CZcams and has relieved some of my complexity fears.
@@ontableboardgames1087 I think part of the problem with reviews is that your under pressure to highlight the bad aspects of the game your reviewing, however the biggest complaint I have seen is the rule book not being accessible to grab rules your looking for and the amount of times the slumbers happen, I'll draw my own conclusion, if true then I'll just house rule the amount of slumbers/entities that happen.
What great narration and video quality for the rules. Looking forward to my game arriving. I bet if this video had been available for the first wave shipment, there would've been fewer complaints.
wow, I hope this becomes a thing for some of the more involved Kickstarter games out there....great work, and I absolutely love the index and table of contents breakdown links.
Thank you for this great video. I’ve just got my late pledge and this video is by far the best in helping me to play without the need to go through the rule book. Look forward to more videos of this quality. Keep it up!
I will go out on a limb to say that this video alone made Etherfields playable for me. The rulebook is written in a very bizarre, upside down way. Honestly, it felt like they probably never had any proofreading done on the rulebook.
This is an amazing video! Definitely the best how to play guide of Etherfields! I'm sure it took you a lot of time and work to create this one! Please do more for this kind of games; campaign games contain a lot of rules and videos as this one are great! Next challenge: Aeon Trespass: Odyssey
Fantastic rules video. Even though with the new rules book it did seem quite straight forward to me. Lucky to be in wave 2 I assume. Thanks for the effort. Super useful and clearly presented.
Thanks for this. I've had a pledge in for this game since the Kickstarter opened, but I've wavered back and forth regarding whether or not I want to keep or cancel my pledge. Actually seeing the game being played, I'm leaning back toward keeping it again.
Trochę to trwało. Dla ułatwienia masz dosyć spory i oryginalny spis treści oraz index. Zasady w języku polskim mam gotowe, na jego podstawie lektor podłożył głos, jednak chcę opublikować je wraz z moją recenzją tej gry.
Thank you for the video, it's very helpful in understanding the game. Awaken Realm games can be hard to learn. I will agree with other posters that this is the best video I've seen about the game. I picked up an all-in Sundrop Kickstarter copy the other day because the person was relocating and couldn't take it with him. Looking at the game, it appears he had played it at least once, so how hard is it to reset the game? I don't remember seeing any instructions in the rule book.
Great video. Question: 1:15:00 is it with rule 2.0 still correct: i can not use an option which let me seals cards, if i have not enough cards in my influence deck?
One question about big entities I feel was left out of the tutorial. You mention that if a big entity is forced to move into a place with a player, they push that player out. However, if the entity performs a normal movement during a turn (say a move 4), how would they move? 1- Would they stop next to the space with the nearest dreamer, following the rule that lone dreamers can't be pushed out of spaces? 2- Would they move into the space of the nearest dreamer, pushing them out? 3- (Definitely not this one) move into the space of the dreamer, pushing them out, then continuing to their new space, pushing them out again? Also, assuming it's #1, if there are two dreamers in the same space, does that mean that neither gets pushed out despite them not being alone in the space? Which would also then imply that a large entity will never be able to enter a space with a dreamer or push out a dreamer with their basic movement.
23:36 -- "If an entity cannot reach its target, it doesn't move". This is incorrect. I believe the intent of this statement, based on what was being shown on screen at the time, was that if an entity is completely sealed off from its target it won't move. But, if it doesn't have enough movement to reach its target it will still move toward its target. Good video!
Its 5 clock its in the rulebook. I dont know why they skip solo rules in this video. I expect that a video which last 1,5 hour will have every rule covered from rulebook. Even faq if any.
@@ontableboardgames1087 my point was related to the 9min 40 mark where the set-up of the clock is mentioned. The setup for the solo player is not mentioned and seems a slight oversight.
@@ontable i didnt want to spoil. You say the correct thing --> shuffle the slumber deck and put the delta phase on the bottom. But the Card front shown of the Green Delta Phase has actually the effect of the red Delta Phase printed on it.

The word "intense" is an adjective that means something different. "Intent" is a countable noun and its plural form is "intents" which sounds exactly like "intense". Also, if it has a possessive " 's ", it is "intent's" which also sounds the same.
@@vlowolvtake1797 Intent can be a uncountable noun too. In the context of this game it is going to be treated by many as a countable noun, so intents. Having said that I prefer the use of intent without the "s" to mean 1 or more numbers of intent. Seems more natural.

It sounds like you are pronouncing "Intent" as "Intense". Plural of intent should be intent, not intents; i.e. the phrase "Three yellow intent" is the correct way to say it.

At 53:06 when restoring items, I believe it is 3 items at random from the storage. You don’t get to choose.

When restoring items, is it random draw or can you look at the cards like in this tutorial?
I would like a follow up on this game. As we know this is just all the basics and as you continue on their is more rules.
at 1.05.51 the special effect says spend 1 gem or suffer 1 stress AND seal 2 cards not
OR
just to clarify.

57.47 you have to put Slumber tile face up on the bottom of the deck it will be matter later😄😄😄

At around 37:00 the tough guy uses an hour to move? How does that work. Is that just an extra intent slot that you can use at any point?
