Went and did my usually shopping at the Farmer's Market for the family, including my dog and a few people laughed when they overheard me asking about the different carrots. Keep saying Wow! lucky dog, can I eat at your house?
Some people will only see dog food as best because it's easy and convenient.

The fda just silently updated the dcm topic this past December on the website. They cannot actually find a link between grain free and dcm. Needless to say diet related (or contributed) can be 100 other things too.

Great TAURINE SUPPLEMENT that is inexpensive and NATURAL is sardines in water. Mussels too but more costly. My dogs have been eating them for decades as a supplement. Stinky and they love them. Can buy Dollar Tree brand. They are the same product you will find at the high end grocery for double the price. I buy them now by the case on Amazon. TAURINE aids in heart health.
Just a side note…. For those insisting on feeding only kibble, make sure TAURINE is included in the upper half of ingredients. MANY expensive high end kibble brands do not contain Taurine. My dogs eat AIR DRIED MEATS, air dried, not freeze dried, some raw meats, small portions of organ meats, vegetables, berries and fruits, eggs.
A HIGH QUALITY PLAIN G R E E K Yogurt & PLAIN PUMPKIN is included ON TOP of every meal. Plain Pumpkin is a Natural PRE - biotic and food for the PRO - biotic which is the plain GREEK YOGURT.
I buy my AIR DRIED dog food from TheRealMeatCompany.com ….. excellent products including TOPPERS and treats. It’s sold on Amazon but more expensive and you don’t get customer discounts or gifts. never had a recall and in business for years. Australia/New Zealand sources which are excellent.
My dogs NEVER have bad breath, diarrhea, upset tummies and little to no disease. They all live or lived a long time. Feed your pets well for health and longevity.
The Real Meat company also makes their foods for CATS🐱.

Me too. Plus lentils and she now has a heart murmur and possibly enlarged heart. After a few months at least I then went to a store brand that was grain free, but it has peas. Time for the cardiologist and food change and researching what I can do for her. I gave raw chicken which had 15% salt solution from the store (bc it adds weight and flavor to us the consumer, more money for the companies) so maybe that sodium was a factor as well. She's 8ish, a rescued beagle and I love her.
