I think both molly and the song deserved so much better than 17th!!!! For once the BBC got a credible artist who not only wrote an amazing and current song but was a great ambassador for the UK! Molly did us proud and i hope this isnt the last we see of her because she truly deserved better! I for one will be buying her album when it is released later this year. #teammolly
don't you worry. you know how to make quality music in the UK and it doesn't matter at which place she ended up.

We could have the best act BY FAR and we wouldn't win because Europe doesn't like us. I don't see why as we sing a lot of money into both Europe and this song contest. Should pull our funding, then we would win.
evilmingz well, that's true, but I just hope UK will not withdraw from the contest as I like British entries almost every year. And UK definitely introduces something interesting and high-quality to the contest.

If we did, they'd have issues funding it tbh. Last I read, our tax payers front £200k-£300k towards the contest each year.

We did good in 2011 with Blue but 2014 and 2017 we really sent good songs. The rest of Europe just really doesn't like the UK. 😂😂😂
@@luchoney5868 A study came out a few years ago that indicated that ESC fans are more motivated by positive bias (like Greece voting for Cyprus) than negative bias. You guys just need to up your game (i. e. send more songs like this). You have the biggest music industry in the world - act like it!

Still annoys me to this day that this song didn’t do better or even win! The song has such a good meaning to it, Molly sings it with passion, you can hear it in her voice. The production as well deserves big praise.

Molly.. she had a great chance of getting into the top 10. Here's what i think should of been done. First off.. The staging should of allowed her to walk onto the stage from the back as the music got bigger, with the backing singers on one of the walkways with the drummer on one of the islands. As molly started off with the line "I've been tired of this thinking" she would of then went to another camera for the next line "So i've drowned it out by drinking" then snaps back towards the main camera at the front with the next line "Tastes like a bitter pill but i'll just wash it down with the taste of something sweet that some doctor gave me now" then she would of had a camera going around her as she followed it with the next lines "This is a madness, I'm not giving in. We're shining like diamonds with love in our hearts.standing beside you i've a feeling that i'll never walk alone" from the word alone the camera snaps away to a full shot of the stage alight with flames with molly moving along more being fluid for the song.
The tone of Molly's voice is amazing,I wish we could have used Australia's staging for zero gravity with this song - I still get goosebumps when she raises her arm and those lights rise ...
She has such a different and interesting voice. I love it :)

I'm from Singapore and due to the time difference, stayed up all night just to watch her perform only to be disappointed that she got 17th place. However, I'm very proud of her for singing her own composition. Such a talented girl. No gimmick whatsoever. The support she got this year has been tremendous. Well done UK!

This was such a Eurovision-style song and if any other country performed it would've at least been top 5.
+lolatthisname Sure, because they would of sung it better and given the song and performance some guts and soul for the entire song rather then the last 30+ seconds, infact, removing the stand and letting her move around would of probably given her 5 places alone.
No, you are missing the point! Everybody hates the British and in spite of the fact that we have some of the best talent for actors and singers in the world, we never win Eurovision because of this. The style of the song was why more was put into it towards the end.

Should of got higher votes but its Europe what do you expect.....UK will vote honestly regardless but rest of europe are voting for there neighbouring countries UK should pull out of the Eurovision its a waste of time and money even entering
Beverley Bennett Not every country votes for their neighbours. the Scandinavian countries have given loads of low points to eachother over the years (sweden gave norway 3 points this year i think) yet norway won 2009, sweden won in 2012 and denmark 2013. UK did not deserve top 5 because the performance was severely lacking in energy. But you can keep making excuses if you want.

This is the UK's best entry in years, at least since 2009. Finally, the BBC seemed to get over their 'where-are-they-now' mentality of entrants, and a good song and singer just went for the UK. And this was so intriguing, especially as the last song in the running order; there was so much atmosphere about this, and the chorus was great. I'd switch this and Russia's places around (and definitely should've finished higher than Belarus).

The United Kingdom sent in a fine entry this year, and it's no shame to have reached the 17th spot considering how many great entries we had this year (with Greece as the only 'dead duck', The Netherlands was my pick for the win). Just look at Slovenia; theirs was a classy, lovely song and it ended up in penultimate position, so 17th is good. Love from a Spaniard in the US.

The sound levels are the killer for me. You can tell this was intended to be absolutely epic, but the sound is completely flat. It needed lots of reverb and depth. Zero impact, aurally.
