    As an American, is the telephone number 999 the emergency number for police, medical EMT’s, or fire in the England, Scotland, and Wales?

    • @aviamonix
      @aviamonix Před rokem +5

      It’s for all emergency services. 999 is the emergency number. You can also use 112 (the international emergency number) for emergencies. For non emergency you can call 101 for police, or 111 for the National Health Service advice.

    • @hairyairey
      @hairyairey Před rokem +4

      @@aviamonix 911 also works in the UK. It's been dialled so many times and rarely in error. 112 is a Europe wide standard, thankfully not an EU rule otherwise it would never get done! 😂

      @user-gp7gv6rg1l Thank you. GDPR took 7 years to pass. The EU surveyed its nations years ago to abolish DST - two countries objected but nothing has been done.

  • @johnbakeravictimofbritisht1281

    My own view is that the BTP should be disbanded and replaced by proper police officers who have a duty to society as a whole and not to the interests of the rail industy. Otherwise, we may as well have the security guards in Tescos or any other commercial entity replaced by a private force with the full powers of law enforcement.

    • @wingaard

      Thank you. Ive been involved in three incidents on the network and BTP weren't involved. Thankfully City of London police and the Metropolitan police responded. BTP police a private set of rules for a private company. They protect customers NOT the public. They talk about vulnerable people yet kick homeless people out of publicly accessible train stations

    • @gamesco3849
      @gamesco3849 Před 2 lety +14

      Ok Sherlock Holmes - if you think BTP aren't proper police officers, how come they have the powers to arrest, search, detain people?

    • @rbgerald2469
      @rbgerald2469 Před 5 měsíci +1

      And then what, place the burden of railway policing to another government organisation that will be shafted by the Tories the moment they ask for funding? At least the Private companies are paying their part to keep them running.
      Will the government do the same, if their minds are poisoned by the lie of austerity?

    • @rbgerald2469
      @rbgerald2469 Před 5 měsíci +2

      And who will replace them I reckon? The police departments pressured by austerity should now take the burden of policing the ENTIRE network? Or a new organisation that will be shafted by the Tories the moment they ask for funding?
      Being funded by the freaking railway industry ensures that they won't be shafted by austerity. Tell that to the Met and others.

    The only people with mental health issues are some of your officers who think that they are the Law and not the people who are supposed to uphold the Law!
    Some of your officers are the Criminals and I will never change my view on that.
    One of your officers physically assaulted me and your inspectors and Chief Inspectors covered it up!
    There’s no point making a complaint against your organisation because the people you complain to are part of the organisation your complaining about.
    And like the Chief Inspector of Police Scotland already made public is that the Police are Biased,Discriminatory and Mysogonistic.
    It’s no wonder the public don’t trust you any more.

  • @johnbaker2
    @johnbaker2 Před 2 lety +3

    I’ve made various ways of trying to make a complaint against your police force and been met with nothing more than what I would expect if I was speaking to a brick wall!
    It’s impossible to make a complaint against your organisation because it’s so self protetionalist.
    Your Police force is an absolute disgrace and I firmly stand my ground on what I say!
    You should be disbanded and replaced with a competant police force!

  • @johnbaker2
    @johnbaker2 Před rokem +2

    What are you doing about the members of your force that are violent criminals with a Police uniform on????
    Absolutely nothing!
    I known this from personal experience and as far as I am concerned.
    Your Police Force is a self protective entity and does not serve the needs of the Public.
    I have reports from Constables,Inspectors and Chief Inspectors and they all tell the same Lies!
    Your Police Force is a disgrace to Policing in this Country and I detest your so called Police Force!
