Chickadees are the greatest little birds. Thank you for the videos you make. Huge smiles 😊
you are a good lady lesley. I will call you..."the Bird Protector"
How can anybody not like this
That's exactly what I thought when I saw the thumb down! If someone doesn't like it (& who in the world couldn't?) just don't click the thumb down button & move along!
some people are just so unhappy with their lives they gotta be dicks to everything around them
To have wild birds feed from your hand.. You are a special person.
OH MY GOSH!!! I just can get over of how cute those little guys are! Another great video Lesley!!
Magic pure magic. Thank you.
I love the way you love these birds! That you treasure seeing them trust you enough to feed out of your hand. And that you even put their names on their nesting tree. So sweet!! 🥰💙💛💖
Love my Chickadees a they love me back. Like your fans and you and your great work, thank you.
How could anyone give this lovely video a thumbs down? You got no soul. This made my early Sunday morning on the second day of Spring relaxing with a cup of coffee. ❤️ Thank you
Mam your voice is extremely comforting. I felt like a young birder listening to my grandmother again. Just the tone in your voice is all. Very cool video!
Thank you for all the great VIDEOS 😇🐦🦜🦚🐣🐤🐥🕊🦢🦆
I've loved chickadees since I was a small boy in the 50's.....thank you for your beautiful and inspiring videos. God bless you.
I'd love a t-shirt with some black capped chickadees
I love my BCC's who come to fist my back, yard to find whatever they can to eat, dressed in their "Sunday Go to meeting " with neary a rinkle darting to and fro and having a good old time.
You're a fantastic videographer! Birds are like gems hidden in plain sight, as most folks don't even seem to notice them. Not only do you notice them but they're distinct individuals to you. Thank you!
Chickadees are my favorite! They seem to be like sentinels in the yard, blasting out their warning call to other birds when a squirrel or cat comes by. We had a pair of chickadees nesting in the yard in a birdhouse that my husband Steve made, they still come. He would sit at the patio table a lot just watching the birds. The chickadees would fly down and land on the table and even on his hat. He began to lay out a small plate of sunflower seeds which they would eat, and eventually they ate out of his hand. This went on for several seasons, what great times watching their little family! Now when I see Chickadees I always think of him.
Your videos' are magical indeed! So enjoyed seeing Tiny and Tim today. Spending time on your channel makes the day more special.
Nature proves that some of life's best entertainment is free! Thanks for sharing, Lesley!
Enjoyed watching it the second time around, too. :)
My grandma would hang a pine cone covered with peanut butter just outside her kitchen window. The chickadees loved it. It was comical to watch them hanging upside down from the bracket that held the cone, snacking on the peanut butter. They got used to us being on the other side of the glass and were very relaxed. We also provided seeds and they would make many trips, carrying them away to stash in the trees.
Thanks Lesley! The marvelous little chickadees. How I love them. To get to see them as you do is a rare and wonderful treat!
I love Chicadees! This story was just precious and loved the little shrew too! You did a great job with your photography and editing. I really enjoyed watching.
Yesterday I noticed the tiniest little black capped chickadees out at my feeder that I hadn't seen before, I knew they had to have been fledglings who'd just recently flown out of their nest. They're so cute, don't get me wrong the parents are adorable little sweet things but the little ones are even smaller and therefore just so darn cute. I'm glad birds walking down hooked you up with a nest box that let you see into the world of chickadee nesting and view the entire process to share with us. Once I get my hands on some wood I'm going to start trying to make nest boxes using their website plans for the different types of birds in my area. I just wonder about drilling out a nest hole large enough when all I have is a hand drill.
thanks for these precious little snippets of life far apart from the maddening world, acts of care, cooperation and survival, working hard for the good of all. and, of course, Tiny and Tim are adorable. a heart warming story. thanks for your enduring commitment, curiosity, and wonder, sharing the life of your bird friends with us.
Lesley, you are a bird angel for sure. It shows in your video. Can't tell you how much I enjoyed it on this dark cold day. I smiled for hours. Thank you!
I'm always amazed when I see a bird eating from someone's hand, I wonder how they get them to do that and how long it took? Thanks for sharing, God bless, His creations are wonderful.
Brilliant as always! Wish you the very best and will do my best to share all your positive and most educational videos! Thank you again to all of us new and blooming birdie fans.

My favorite pair (house sparrows) were Albert and Ali.
The only Chickadees

Yes I liked video a lot. Your voice is so suthing and relaxing. Photos are picture perfect great snap shot.
This video put a warm smile on my face. Apart of Tiny and Tim will live on through their babies and grand babies.☺️
Excellent video! You are a true master. The joy of a bird pecking a seed on your hand is unique. Thank you for capturing it so wonderfully.
You are very welcome. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video. :) Thanks for dropping by. I have another bird story video scheduled for next weekend!
P.S I sent you an email :)
Wonderful video.
This is not something many would get to experience, so thank you so much for sharing.
I've never seen that behaviour before, when the chipmunk show up. I love all these rare moments :)
Agreed agreed agreed!!!
Chipmunks are a genuine threat to small birds. I unfortunately witnessed a chipmunk take down an adult sparrow. I had quite a different view of them before that. That Chickadees not only are aware of that threat, but have a behavior devoted to expressing an alarm for it makes me even more amazed and impressed by them. One more reason why they are my favorite bird by so much.
Wonderful----you have a way with birds that is a gift from God. I could watch all day how you interact with them. You always put a smile on my face
Russ Elder - Same here! My mind relaxes and I sit back and smile watching Lesley's videos.
I have never seen anyone with the way she has with birds, God Bless Her
Very cool, they are my favorite winter bird of all. While bowhunting I have had them land on my arrow or once on the brim of my hat, then it bent over to look me in the face. It cracked me up so bad I thought my laughing would scare it off but it just held on as I shook with muffled laughter. Never knew they made nests in dead trees, but I have read that as they store seeds throughout the summer and fall their brain grows in size so they can retain memory of their seed bank, then as they collect seeds thru the winter months their brain shrinks back down. Such great little birds, we are fortunate to have someone so friendly during winter months.
The chickadee is my favorite little bird besides hummingbirds. Thank you so much for this video please keep up the good work
A wonderful experience to watch. I have a pair that have been coming to my feeders for a few years now. I keep watch over them, they seem to be without a flock and are struggling to survive. I love birds. Thanks for this video.
This was amazing. Thank you.
3:47 I notice that too! When I sit still in the forest, things just seem to come to me or I'll see an eagle or sea life that I never would have noticed if I wasn't still. Or little birds (often chickadees 😊) will land in low branches just over my head or next to me even. Your videos do just make my day sometimes, thanks Lesley 🙏🏼
thank YOU a bunch.
I have a pair in a small bird house hanging from a red maple. It is ten steps from my back door. The pair are always flying back and forth to feed their brood. If one is in the house, the other will perch nearby and wait until the other departs. This goes on all day. I have had a Carolina wren hanging around this house for two springs. ( I live near Chicago, first one I ever saw) He would sing and sing to attract a mate. It was beautiful. None ever came. The chickadees nested in early May. It is about seven feet to the grass. Hope the chicks have a good landing! Your videos are wonderful.
So beautiful. I saw the first Chickadee in my life yesterday. Black headed like yours in the video. They were eating suet from my feeder. 🐦
love to watch these videos and look forward to attracting these little darlings to my yard😊
I love your videos. Thank you for taking the time to show us nature’s beauty. How do you get them to feed off your hand?
Beutiful birds. GodBless them.
Always a pleasure. I hope I didn't scare you with the Mockingbird story. It all turned out well.
God bless you sister 🙏😇❤️
many thanks for sharing these lovely moments with us .!!
why does this youtube channel make me so stupidly happy
Wonderful chickadee diary, Lesley. I was totally absorbed in it.....better than tv ;)
That was Amazing🐦🐦🌲🌲Loved it my favorite bird
👍👍👍 for sure Nerd! 😃
Thank you for sharing! What a great find!
Lesley, big hello from Maine. Also a big thank you for all you do to educate and entertain others about our winged friends! I feel like I know you I watch so many of your videos. I have adored birds as long as I can remember and I have seemed to have passed the bird nerd gene to my two young daughters. I have learned a lot about bird vocalization and behavior through your videos and also I find myself coming back over and over to re watch and always find something to smile about. May you and all beings great and small be safe, healthy and live in peace. Keep up the birdnerding. :)
The swaying display for chipmunk was interesting. You obviously spend lots of time with your feathered friends to have observed and recorded so many unusual interactions. Your videography skills are impressive, especially considering the tiny size and erratic movement of your subjects. I await your next teachable moment. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing the beauty of Nature ...your voice calms me down when I watch your videos ...it is very relaxing!...greatly appreciated
So beautiful ❣️
I just love these videos! I love my Chickadees! I have so many birds come to my front yard feeders but they're my favorites! When I fill the feeders I call to them n they come eveverytime❤ I wish I could get them to eat from my hand.😊
Makes my day watching your interactions
Your videos are priceless! Thank you!
I live in Gig Harbor and have had a great 3 years of a wonderful experience with a couple of cute chickadee. Thank you so much💗for all your videos, so helpful😊 and very entertaining!!!1
I love chicadee’s , I live in Michigan saint Joseph and I noticed them coming to my bird feeder and bird station. I learned it was a black cap chicadee from watching your videos. Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful experience with nature. I sure love bird’s and birdwatching! Thank you Lesley ❤
Lesley - Just now watching this video - you never cease to amaze us!
I've never seen a shrew (not where I am) before and it is a cute little thing!
Tiny+Tim are great parents.
Tim's swaying and wing fluttering is to ward off an enemy - let it know he's there and defending his area. Thank You!!! - Stephanie
Hey Stephanie thanks so much. I'm glad you liked the shrew and Tiny and Tim. They are great parents. Tim's behavior was definitely to intimidate that chipmunk. It was neat to see :)
@@LesleytheBirdNerd - That was neat to see Tim do that. The swaying can also represent a snake (sometimes) to a predator.
Wow! What an exciting find! These birds are so cute and thanks for another wonderful video, Lesley!
Wow! this is an AMAZING Story & incredible filming. Thank you for your time, effort & patience to gather this footage & information. Award Winning Worthy!
I've only recently become interested in birding. How in the world do you get them to trust you enough to eat from your hand?! What a dream.
I remember their sound from my window as a little kid in the 1960's. It wasn't until I was an adult that I heard it again but this time wondered what birds made it. Fee Bee. I am made a birdhouse I hope they like it.
Wow🤩😁❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️
Lesley, I liked hearing the still sounds of the surroundings in this video. The quiet was actually pretty peaceful.
Beautiful!
Thanks for your persistence, patience and caring for our feathered friends!
I really like Chicadees! Thanks for this.
So Sweet, Thanks for the education. Greetings from North Michigan USA.
So cool Lesley! That's also funny about the warbler. This was a nice thing to watch on my break at work.
I have lots of these birds around my place.Great video.Thanks.
As usual, the video was great. I especially enjoyed the look into the nest. I have chickadees as well and now I know what to look for...hopefully I will see one too.
Oh my god. That’s an insane opportunity to be able to watch and interact with birds growing up from the nestling stage. I just started my first environmental class and your work inspires me every day! Thanks for the amazing footage!! Keep up the great work!!
Hey, that's awesome about you starting your first environmental class. I hope you have a lot fun with it, all the best to you!
I enjoyed watching this so much! Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. 🌷
Thank you!

Adorable
Beautiful video! Really enjoyed it!! Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you so much for posting this delightful and moving video today, Lesley. I'd had a bit of a disappointment this afternoon, and this was just what I needed. Something happy.
It should be. I was cooking last night for my birding club on Tuesday night. A recipe I've wanted to try for years, and it didn't work out. Going with something else. Bless you, my dear!
Aww...miss u Tiny but we have all the memories thanks to your sweet buddy Lesley!!!
Absolutely loving your channel, which I just found today. I am in the U.K., so we have different birds to you (except for the crows), so it is interesting for me to see the birds of North America.
Impeccable filming, editing, narration! Many thanks from a wannabe birder.
😁🤗
