The irony of your statement is that is exactly what has happened at our club for last near 20 years...to the point where some Arsenal fans dismiss trophies, like we win so many already... the fanbase needs to wake up. This attitude didn't exist 20 years ago amongst the fan base. 20 years of brain washing... and worshiping 'top 4'. BUT, its not all bad. There seems to be a change in our owners and hopefully Arteta can bring and compete for trophies in the coming seasons. Just been a very long time...
@@gooner_duke2756 Not trying to generalize all gunners but I saw a guy in some comment section dismissing Arsenal being knocked out because it's just a "smelly Europa League". Which is odd because I can't remember the last time Arsenal won a Champions League or a "smelly" Europa League.
@@amr.c1650 It isn't all gunners, for sure. But there are enough of them like you point out. I don't get the attitude. Not sure if its an age thing, could be, I'm in my early 40's, so was at Highbury and supporting under George Graham and early Wenger's success.

I'm afraid the culture has changed, somewhat and fan expectation at Arsenal over the years. I hope this changes and I think it will, under Arteta's reign. Winning breds winning and all that, so expectations change... I mean, I get there is a context, we haven't won a league title in 19 years, which is the longest time without one in our history. So I can see why there is a focus on that and agree to an extent, BUT, you still want to be in the cups for as long as possible.
The odd thing is, that some fans will remind other fans that we are the 3rd most successful team in the country, trophy number wise and at least domestically (we have under achieved in Europe, 2 trophies is shocking), but don't connect the dots that the reason for that, when they say it, is because of the trophies we've won throughout our history 🤦♂

you have gone from a team of lucas moura as a supersub on fire to a team which doubles up fullbacks out of desperation and a either slow and sluggish defence or too rash,almost no leadership from the players,i remember even as a neutral(or even a rival from spurs point of view since i am an arsenal fan) i used to respect scott parker a lot,was not always starting but when that guy was starting he could leave the pitch with his kit turned red of blood to make sure as much as possible that the team does not concede enough to draw or lose
its like you have "borrowed" from us the image we used to have in some past seasons,a bunch of nice players with no leadership who just get away from everything win draw lose and times just passes by and things worsen until its just too much to take anymore for fans

It’s a team that lacks fight, passion and commitment, one that folds as soon as things start going wrong. There’s only so much a manager can do, if the players can’t respond themselves, then you end up with a situation like this.

Finally no more beating around the bush, Conte speaking facts. Spurs wants to act like a big club , but no trophies no backing from owners, players who don't care . That is the reality.
The reality is Spurs are overachieving and that is how Levy and Enic see it.....The club has never been a serial winning club and so there is no pressure for them to live up to any expectation. The ambition the fans now have has to do with where Tottenham have progressed over the last few seasons, which was and is under their ownership. I am not saying that the fans should not have ambition and that the owners should not have ambition...what I am saying is Spurs have never inculcated a culture where success is demanded so there is NO PRESSURE on the owners. As far as they see it they have made Spurs a financial powerhouse in England and an attractive proposition.

Spurs have more points than at this point last season. The meltdown and destruction you're seeing is because Arsenal aren't 5th but almost 20 points clear. There would be no fan tantrum if Arsenal were sitting 5th right now. Their fans have been tricked into believing that the Arsenal and utd they've been finishing above the last 6 or so years were peak. Spurs would be 2nd in the league if not for the improvement of these 2 teams. Points wise and trophy wise, spurs are having a normal season.
