We had a rice cooker bought in 2010. We never used now I learnt to use. Still it's working but auto cut is not working.

Only cooking button is there in our Panasonic rice cooker no warm button. 20 minutes should I switch off
There is no warn button. Only one button. If it is same model it will switch off automatically.

may be you are putting too much water . put water 1:2 ratio.

Because its written in manual to open after 10 min. I have not yet cooked idli in it. But ut can be cooked. Fill batter in idli mould put in rice cooker steamer, Below you can put rice for cooking and 2 things bwill cook simultaneously. will soon make video on that. we really wait for feedback. Just one more thing.. on Amazon, many buyers have mentioned that when cooking rice, it sticks at the bottom. Have u experienced it too? Any tips? Also, the quality of the lid and idli stand are poor and corrosion can b seen at bottom (near the heating element) as per reviews. Pls shed some light on this. M sry for asking so many questions. I am planning to buy it for my mom and I dont want her to face any trouble using it.
firstly Corrosion near heating element is normal thing and it is written in manual also.
Secondly it has a plate which we keep in rice bowl. I must have shown in video . It prevents sticking.
Thirdly, it is a rice cooker and not a pressure cooker which have heavy lid. Rice cooker lid is neither very heavy, nor too light. Its ok and lightness or heaviness of lid does not affect cooking.
Thirdly steamer quality is good.
Fourthly ask tour mom if she really needs it or she wants to cook rice in her own set way.
Fifthly, it is good for working people(bcos they cant afford time to watch rice cooking), students away fron home, people new to cooking and for those jinse chawal chipak jata hai.
With use you get accustomed to cooking in rice cooker.

I have the prestige rice cooker. Whenever i try to cook rice with the plate provided at bottom, the plate floats up and rice goes below that and sticks.

By the way it is good if you soak rice for atleast 10 minutes

See the booklet that you received with rice cooker. Quantity of water is written in it.
To give you an idea for 1 cup rice you have to put 2 1/4cup water, sava 2 cup water

Why will water go more. I have told you the proportion of water. if by mistake you used more water, rice cooker will cook rice till all water is absorbed. Thoda gila go jaega rice..

Every time bottom of the pan getting burning. So complete rice gives burning smell . I tried 1:2, 1:2.5, 1:3 ratio of rice and water but couldn't recover. Can u pls suggest me something. Am using new panasonic 750w rice cooker
are you using the plate with holes(comes with rice cooker) in it.
I think you should try 1:1.3/4 ratio.

raw rice volume ka matalab hai kachi rice/uncooked, kitna cup hai.
Post cooking raw rice kini badh jati hai ya increase ho jati hai.
for example if u take 1 cup raw rice, then after cooking it will be approximately 3 cup(volume), though it depends on quality of rice also.
If there is no plate then wht to do...like without plate can we follow the same recipe mam!

Pl read manual and I have also explained in video. Watvh video carefully. For 2 people take one cup rice, soak for 15 min, put in rice cooker, add 2 1/2 cup water. switch on button and it will cook on its own and automatically switch will go off.

After using Preethi electric cooker for many years, bought this and I'm disappointed. No matter how much water I add, the rice doesn't get cooked well. My kids are small and so I usually give them rice that is boiled extra well and this is not happening with this cooker. Also the stretch collected underneath the plate is so less.
