- We escape the rain in Washington by heading to Bend, Oregon. The city of Bend is fun to explore, but the RV campground that is close to town requires Thousand Trails membership, so we settle for a KOA that is an hour away and ponder whether we should sign up for 1000 trails. We checkout river dam surfing and go hiking on a levee. While in Bend, we finally decide to let go of something that we've been holding onto from the day we started traveling in the Airstream.

We have gotten our money's worth from our thousand trails but we bought it used from campground membership outlet so it was like half the original price. We always see so many full time families flags outside rigs at thousand trails so that could be a pro for you.

You can stay in Thousand Trails without being a member, you actually get better service if you are not a member....so for your way of traveling stick with non membership.... you will have to call for reservations before arriving

We’ve stayed at several thousand trails campgrounds and we’re not members. We just pay the nightly or weekly rate. And no commitment

You can stay without a membership. With a membership you get put into the back 9 lots. You have to plan farther out, drops ins under the "free" nights are rarely available. Free sites were small, hard to get into, overgrown, wet lands etc ..... We dropped our membership. We'd rather pay regular price and get a usable site.

Story time was one of our favorite things. I used to act out the characters with motion and sound effects. Kids loved it! The Three Little Pigs was super fun! 🐺🌬🐖🐖🐖
We loved Bend too when we were looking to relocate from east coast but Oregon was not retiree friendly. But we feel in love with the Sierra & Tahoe area and relocated last summer to Carson Valley NV. Our backyard & main living area have fantastic views of snow capped Sierra. Be sure to check out the area if you visit northwest Nevada. We love the weather and have spent more time outside in our first year here than we did in 10 years back east. The four season minus the humidity are a bonus as well as the 260+ days of sunshine!!!!

Another nice video. We haven't been to Bend in almost 20 years(we live in Albany - 90 miles west). As far as the Thousand Trails go... You guys are full timers. The annual fee plus a couple of zones will easily be covered within 2 months of stays. Anything more is free camping. You can still do KOA and be money ahead. Happy travels! Dave & Marji.
We are referring to just paying the annual dues, not buying an expensive membership.

And btw, after seeing your baby gate, I ordered 1 set of 8 panels for my 2 tiny dogs. It is EXACTLY what I was looking for! Planning to start camping for the first time next September when my Casita is ready. I needed something more heavy duty to keep them in and other dogs out. Thank you!!
We lived in NW Reno, NV for 4 years and loved it. Truckee was a favorite spot!
Thousand trails is hard to get out of the contracts They are expensive and not the greatest. If you can stay without a membership ship don't join.
Nice, we are just S. of Bend at Cascade meadows RV but will be leaving in the morning for parts further south Maybe the Reno area then back to the Phoenix area for the short winters there. We use our TT membership alot and its great if you're going to be in an area for a week or more, we have an add on for RPI as well which gives us even more options, but this season we were in the central part of the country and it's tougher to find TT's there. if you do decide to get a membership , don't buy new, its way too expensive. find a good broker...😁💖🙏 OLT
Investigate Thousand Trails a lot. Many negative comments on CZcams channels of RVers.
Thousand Trails...RED Flags....very similar to time share please do your homework before plunging - if you like KOA, spend the money for a KOA value card and use your points for savings, much better bang for your buck than TT

We’ve got a four month old Mini Aussie and are looking for a “baby gate” to allow her to roam around our Airstream. If you’re still out west we’re headed to Portland next week. We could meet up and take it off your hands.

Goodwill doesn't take any baby things. They are worried about recalls and don't want to held liable.
I have heard people say you can buyout thousand trail membership of other peoples. This is individual who wants out of their membership
Bend Oregon is that what you talk about how do you call that desert
