      haxors 4hire 12 cents manufacturing cost is good value, of course they print tons of money. Still considering how much banks need to replace bills that are worn or damaged, it's important.

    Why doesnt USA make polymer money? 'Paper' money is relatively easy to counterifeit if youre determined. Polymer money is extremely hard to fake conviningly. The only reason I can see is because the US dollar is such an world wide currency that so many countries would have to update their equiptment ( ATMS, Money detectors\counters etc) that it would be very hard, not to mention expensive to do so.

      They don't. The Fed pays for every note produced and actually makes money on selling those notes to banks. They pay the BEP about .06 for $1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50's and .14 for $100. That's how they make money.

    They say it has a 15 years life-span, well, maybe by staying flat in a vault or a suitcase. The annoying flaw on the bill is that the blue security ribbon is too thick and tough compared to the paper it's attached to, so much so that it's stressing on the 2 edges tearing itself away from the paper every time there's some bending or folding involved; the problem is more obvious when they are handled in one's pocket or wallet.

    • @mr.rochman3536
      @mr.rochman3536 Před 2 lety

      @@ThePeterDislikeShow of course they will. It all depends most of the time they will just mark up the bill like usual. That's why I never ask for a hundred dollar Bill's I always ask for 20s or 50s at a bank. hundred dollar Bill's are useless there's no point of marking it. and on top of that I don't even know why they put a blue strip on the 100 dollar bill out of all the Bill's it looks ridiculous on the bill. So my advice to you is don't ever ask for 100 dollar bills at a bank because cashiers will just accused you of counterfeiting and marking up your bills which is irritating just ask for 20s or 50s at a bank or just use your credit or debit card which is easier and you won't have a problem with the cashiers.

      Not only harder, but in the case of Australia, since the introduction of the polymer banknote, there has never been a single counterfeited Australian banknote, it's just too hard to do, so crooks go for the easier ones with more chance on non-detection, like the US greenback. And every country that has introduced polymer notes has had a sharp decrease to zero incidence of counterfeiting. That's why I applaud the UK and Canada for going to polymer. One other advantage is polymer notes last longer in circulation, than paper notes.

    Wow slow news day. They used to allow tours of the printing process. Throughout the tour we watched SHEETS of $20 bills tossed, constantly. Our oldest son groaned every time they did it that's how I know how often it happened. He just said 'it will allow people to use the old bills'. Really? Oh, the horror!
