I think it's so brilliant how they brought the theme of the unreliable narrator to the series, because Claudia being played by another actress actually makes sense, we know that Louis current mental state is terrible, and the theme of the season being "memory is a monster" + armand "protecting louis from himself" which i read as gaslighting lol, it can easily affects his memory in relation to Claudia as a whole, even her image! There are so many possibilities here and makes me so excited!
I agree it's works perfectly, because Armand has the gift to effect memory. I had the feeling even the penthouse belonged to him when he told Daniel that painting was by Marius de Romanus, his maker. That also sealed it for me he was not Rashid.
Then in episode 6 when Louis was speaking to him via his mind and asked if he was sleeping. Especially after the doctor came for Daniel's treatment and it was Dr. Fareed Bhansali, I screamed, "that's Lestat's doctor from "The Prince Lestat " book 11. And he's even older than Armand, his companion was Akasha's son. So the question is, is the unreliable narrator Louis or Armand? 😊
Season 2 will be epic 🎉🎉
@@jordanparker657 @jordanparker657 exactly, the fact that armand is now part of the interview is such good ideia, makes everything so much broader and unexpected, both for those who don't know the story and for fans of the chronicles.
@@erick7895 Yes, the showrunner and writers are doing a beautiful job of keeping us all on the edge and it makes for so much fun speculation. As you say say for those versed in the Chronicles and the newbies, it's brilliant and fresh.
I suspect when season 2 begins we will cross paths, this Fandom is great. 👻💕
After the reveal that Rashid is actually Armand, it calls into question the reliability of the whole interview. It's quite likely this whole luxury apartment is owned by Armand and is being used as a prison to "save Louie from himself" as Armand puts it. Notice the bookshelves are elevated. We already know that Louie is unable to fly, which leaves Armand the only one able to access the books, and we know Louie loves to read. This whole interview has been carefully controlled by Armand. He steps in every time the interview goes somewhere he doesn't want it to go.

Another video recently said the season 2 premiere is gonna be April 7th. That would place it right after that newest show "The Walking Dead The Ones Who Live" ends.
According to AMC, the official S2 release date is May 12th.
I have LOVED rewatching this show alongside both of you - and had SUCH fun listening to your thoughts on each episode and witnessing your reactions to the horror, the humor, and the moments of romance that have made this show such a compelling watch! Like you, I am vibrating with the need for S2 to be here NOW, but I am confident in Rolin Jones' ability to make it another wild ride for all of us, whether we're familiar with the source material or not! And for better or worse, as a self-confessed devotee of Louis & Lestat being endgame, I'm looking forward to the relative crumbs I'll get of them together in S2, but I'm also excited about Assad's Armand!! Can't wait to see your reactions when it drops! Thanks, both!

"I serve a god"... Interesting... I didn't even think of Akasha, I actually thought of Marius. Amadeo saw Marius as his god, BUT it definitely could be Akasha. I am just excited for the casting of those two roles. I can't imagine an actor that could embody Marius, but I thought that about Lestat and then I saw Sam Reid. Rashid/Armand is like an exquisite Botticelli angel. Assad Zaman is a really beautiful man.

About Armand and the sun... it could be that they've changed things and age rapidly increases resistance to sunlight. Maharet got a tan from prolonged sun exposure, but she's spent 6000+ years as a vampire. Also, I feel uncomfortable about the racial aspect of this possibility.
There are a few other possibilities:
1. This Armand is resistant to sunlight because he has had blood from much older vampires. He was made by Marius and repeated drinking from ancient vampires gives much younger vampires incredible strength (case in point: Lestat). Also, he never made other vampires (aside from Daniel, and that hasn't happened... yet?) so perhaps that is a factor. Depending on when this is happening in the Vampire Chronicles timeline he could have potential access to a lot of ancient vamps. Louis also has the Fire Gift which I assume he has from feeding on Armand. Louis must be really under his control because his book character wanted to stay as human as possible. Over time that might have changed, but it seems a bit coercive. Blink twice if you need help, Louis!
2. He ISN'T resistant to sunlight and is messing with Molloy. They're in Dubai with unthinkable wealth, and they could have extra sun filter tech surrounding the tower. This one I think doesn't seem too credible. Not because Armand isn't a manipulative little liar (he definitely is), but it's too much of a stretch.
3. Dr. Fareed has succeeded in experiments on vampire blood, perhaps increasing both resistance to sunlight and also how long after sunrise vampires can stay awake (not sure if the latter is something that has just been erased from the tv version but vampires go basically dormant after sunrise).
Oooh, some interesting thoughts! Some new theories to chew on. 😆
I had so much fun rewatching this show with you. Loved your reactions and thoughts! I think Claudia is definitely dead in the present, because Louis speaks about her with great sadness.
I honestly can't wait for season 2. Just from that short trailer, I can tell it's going to be awesome.
I'm curious why Antoinette was able to momentarily overpower Claudia when she was decades younger than her and should've been weaker. Unless Claudua was pretending so that she could buy time until the concoction took over Lestat's body.
I think it’s similar to the book, no matter how old she is she is always going to be a weak vampire, in this case a vampire with a body of a 14 year old shouldn’t be as strong as someone who is full grown

Armand _attempted_ to commit suicide by sunlight but failed. He was seriously burned, however. He eventually recovers.

I have never read the books, I have only seen the 2 movies Interview With The Vampire(1994), and Queen Of The damned(2002). But this show was so amazing I loved it, one of my newest obsessions LOL, and I'm very excited for season 2. Also just a request for non-book readers like me in the future could you please not talk about spoilers from the books like what you did at 45:26 thank you.
You didn't mention it in the video, but unfortunately they had to recast the role of Claudia, Bailey Bass wasn't able to return. The new actress is Delainey Hayles 41:46, but much support to her. Thank you both for these amazing reaction videos, one of the best on CZcams.
