      Watched it in video editor frame by frame and its 100% on the line. Hawk eye showed it waayyy out. The original call was made by a line judge however so it would have been the same without electronic eye. There should be a video system which shows the actual ball bounce where the umpire makes the final call from that.

    8:40 - To Nole fans: I'm not trying to goad you by saying this; I just want to help you understand why Nole doesn't have as many fans as you think he should. Carlos' reaction to being hit is the reaction a player should have. He laughed it off because he knows accidents happen, and there's no reason to think your opponent is trying to hurt you.
    Unfortunately, Nole's reaction to this kind of thing is usually to behave as if it's a personal affront. And he does the same when the crowd isn't on his side. He takes too many things personally, and it just comes off as if he feels entitled. I'm sure he'd have more fans if he weren't that way on court because he's very charming when he's off-court.

    • @anpham605
      @anpham605 Před 6 měsíci +6

    • @BassByTheBay
      @BassByTheBay Před 6 měsíci

      @@anpham605 Meddy, Hurcacz, and Fucsovics aren't Western European, and crowds seem to like them (with occasional exceptions for Med when he gets angry). And there are certainly Western Europeans whom crowds _don't_ like. Paire and Fognini come to mind, and they're about as Western European as you can get.
      I've spoken with people about this as well as having seen numerous comments online. I see no evidence that Nole's lack of popularity has to do with where he's from. Tennis is a sport where politeness/etiquette is built into the game. One can clearly see how crowds react to certain kinds of behavior, and as great as Nole is, he usually behaves like he has a chip on his shoulder, and crowds don't like that regardless of where a player is from.

      @@BassByTheBay no way, whenever Meddy / Nole play, it is always like this.
      1) Meddy/Nole wins a point -> claps from the crowd
      2) their opponent wins a point -> standing ovation from the crowd
      3) Meddy/Nole make a mistake -> "yeahhhhh" from the crowd
      4) thier opponent makes a mistake -> "ohhhh" from the crowd
