    Use and abuse testing and review of a new blade from TOPS. This was a pretty durable blade. I used it as a hatchet, smashed pieces of cinder block with the pommel, and generally beat on the knife. Just keep it sharp, oiled, and it should have no problem with ordinary camping or survival tasks, it should last a lifetime.
    This blade was designed by LVI Bushcraft and Survival Inc. If you want to see it doing a variety of bushcrafty tasks, check out the video section of the LVI website, located here: www.lowvisualim...

    Hello, for me, Tops Bushcrafter Kukuri 7.0 are the most versatile Bushcraft tool I've ever handled, feather sticks, splitting wood, powerful Hatchet in relation to its size and more. I have several different Parang / Golok / machete from Condor and a Johnson Potbelly from Ka-Bar, and they are really good, but my favorite is Tops Bushcrafter Kukuri 7.0

    Good video. TOPS has a very loyal following. It's the only brand of knife I buy now. Their stuff is worth more than what they charge. You can trust your life to anything they make.

    Tops really puts a quality piece for the money. I really like the 16" machete and fireman's axe, so this I will have to add this to my collection.

    It use to be a fave, because of the smaller size but effectiveness, but since then, a number of smaller knives work almost as well.

    That's one sick blade. The curve is far greater in this one than in most of khukris i've seen. Totally badass review, kudos to you sir :) By the way I finally got my damascus machete 1075/15N20 HRC 58+ and it's sick, I could send some more information if You would like to but I am really looking forward to seeing you use some damascus longer blades. Take care man and again great job on the video.

    Israel, I'm so spoiled by my Saber Grind Knives, that the Flat Grind Knives are not high on my list, although I like this Kukuri, it's the size, it looks like it would be a great camp knife, building shelters and chopping around the camp, I think Essee and Top's Deferentially Temper their blades, that really makes a tuff blade that holds a great edge retention.

  • @SleepyFox79
    @SleepyFox79 Před 10 lety

    Not a bad knife, but a bit expensive for what it is, especially considering that Ka-Bar and Ontario both have comparable Kukri's for a fraction of the price, just my two cents worth, nice to see it in 1095 with a decent sheath though.

    Maybe it's just me but with the name TOPS Bushcrafter Kukuri 7, I would have liked to see more of the bushcrafting side of the knife. We know kukris are choppers and tough, it's evident in the design (1/4 inch, 1095 HC). What makes this viable as a, forgive the expression, all-in-one or one stop shopper woods tool?

      This is an old video, I was not as into bushcraft back then (and it wasn't nearly as big on CZcams as it is today), although I am a lot more into it now. I would not say this is an all-in-one woods tool, but then again I didn't design it, here is a channel link to the CZcamsr who designed it, I'm sure he makes a case for its bushcraft uses better than I: czcams.com/channels/_SxQSaBpCQ-rhW1pZaIWJw.html

    Thanx Izie, Thanx for the turn on, now I'm adding this one, and also the 10"er by Khukuri House, I think it's called the American Eagle, not sure though, but it's the one with the full tang, and it has the bird's beak, well anyhow, I know which one it is, and maybe Santa will drop it down my chimney, catch ' ya later, I'm writing him a letter right now.

    Looks nice, but $200 for 1095 and a nylon sheath? The Ontario kukri is 12 inches of .25 inch thick 1095, with a nylon sheath, made in the US, and it costs about $50. I like micarta, but not enough to pay an extra $150 for it.

    • @flashdamingo
      @flashdamingo Před 10 lety

      Point taken , however , consider that Tops knives are differentially heat treated so thats money spent on a superior heat treat that would shine on a chopper.
      So those knives arent really comparable.

    • @DShiflet01
      @DShiflet01 Před 10 lety

      I've never had any problems with Ontario's heat treat.

  • @Boogalosh
    @Boogalosh Před 8 lety

    I've been looking at this knife a lot but I'm curious about the micarta handle though. When swinging and with hard impacts, how is the grip? It looks smooth and could possibly be a bit sketchy in certain conditions. It looks like it's not much of a problem for you in this video, but I'm just curious about your experience with it. Thanks for the great video!

    • @WeAllJuggleKnives
      @WeAllJuggleKnives  Před 8 lety

      +Boogalosh It gives a good grip and Micarta is especially resistant to slipping when wet.
