    That bulls team got me a lot of respect for Rondo as a laker fan.
    There were reports of a divide in the locker room between the young players and Jimmy Butler/DWade, and Rondo took the side of the young players and vehemently defended them and their growth to the two vets. That level of leadership is VITAL to a functioning team

    The problem with chemistry in American sports is the "I am the Super Star and this is my team. The rest of you are just supporting cast and role players" mentality.
    You rarely have this problem in European football because EVERY single position is respected.
    In European football, any position can be man of the match (MVP), any position can be the highest paid player.
    So, every player in the starting 11 knows he is valued and he has an important role to play.
    In contrast, American sports have chosen to go the Hollywood way with only a select few can be "Super Stars," while the rest of the team is relegated to role player and supporting cast.
    Look at how they are treating the RB position in American football.
    That is why there is so much jealousy and envy between teammates in American sports.
    LOL

All the interpersonal stuff doesn't matter if Wade is still 2008 form and running and dunking on everybody alongside Jimmy's defense and aggressive scoring from the mid-range inward. It also doesn't matter that neither of them are three point shooters, since you can always surround them with shooters.

    I think because Rondo was real, the younger generation of players after him didn't want to blend as a team because Rondo was real and because of that, I think teams later on, was reluctant to play Rondo as much because of these new kids wanting to be individuals rather than being a team.

    Would have like to see that squad play 3 seasons together with healthy Wade and Rondo. That squad could have taken at least one of post-Miami ECF titles from LeBron.

    The only real challenge Bron had was the Celtics led by Rondo, because it was about strategy, everything else was mainly about talent. He is top 3. Him with Wade and Bron top 3 players of that generation.

      LOL Rondo was not the leader of the Celtics team that LeBron could not get past in Cleveland...KG was. And Rondo is certainly NOT in any top 3 with LeBron and Wade, how much did you have prior to posting that.

      @@seanjoyce7039 KG was leader in talking, Rondo drove the team, made them great team, smartest person on that team. Watch again those games (without commentators and biases). He was the MVP for Celtics

    Rondo was a selfless point that had psychic ability but his emotions was his downfall at some point of his career similar to Westbrook ❤

    • @UATjonC
      @UATjonC Před 10 měsíci +6

      I don’t agree with the Westbrook comparison. He’s got 2 championships with the Top 2 NBA franchises. Russ is still chasing that first one. The only areas Rondo may have fell short of his potential are fame (he should have stayed in the discussion for top PG for a lot longer in his career) and fortune (he should have made as much as or more than Russ or CP3). But on the court success? His peak is what Russ (and CP3) is still chasing.
      But that’s just my two cents 🤷🏾‍♂️

    • @peteraudu4554
      @peteraudu4554 Před 10 měsíci +1

      @@UATjonCI don't know about this. During Rondo's "peak"; where he won championships he was like the fourth best player on his teams. When he won on the Celtics he was still the guy with huge potential. As great as Rondo was in the NBA his peak wasn't on the level of Cp3 or Westbrook. He didn't have their influence either so he had no chance of ever making their money. I'm certain both of those guys would trade some of their success for rings. Though, they weren't just great at their position they were arguably top 10 players in the NBA at their peak. Rondo doesn't have that type of acknowledgement on his resume. When you talk about their peaks individual success should be a factor. Especially, when you compare Rondo to players that were bonafide superstars for a period of their career.
