I think she nailed this on “Immature”, her voice literally sounds like the howling of the wind, at times..
I've never seen a vocal coach approaching singing as something fun and experimental as this. It was really inspiring. I am glad we share the love for Björk, her Moon song is my favorite. Thank you!

She does this really strange and gorgeous sound sometimes with her voice sometimes that, to me, sounds kind of like when two marbles rub against each other? Like in one live version of “Hunter”, not the one used in this video, (found it! Its the “live in Paris 1998” one) when she says “HOWW Scandinavian of me”, the “How” is like that, lol, like marbles or something. I love it
I have been a Björk fan since 2002 when I first saw her Riverside Church concert on PBS. I instantly started searching for more and more. I started buying every CD she made solo or in a band. I know have her on multiple platforms including DVD. Her voice is just amazing and unique. I love her so much.

I have not listened to her that much in recent years but this is a great reminder that O should. I love how you describe her as expressing the soul. That's what I've always thought, that she's an expressionist singer that conveys true emotions. There is somehing "trolskt" about her, a magical being imposible to define

Mariah Carey for her ridiculous tone, breath control & of course Those Octaves . Bjork is the 2nd. She helped me realize that being unconventional and approaching music that way , is Not Only OK but encouraged and Moreso a Necessity for your individuality to Truly Shine thru.

I have heard a vocal coach telling "don't sing like her, risk of injury". I love Björk's songs, and I am glad she did the efort to sing them (they alter my mind) but I am not sure she is the best example for beginners. I mean, if they try to sing like Björk, but still warned not to force the voice too much, it is ok. I think I listen an interview where she explained something like this : "I was walking down the street and someone screamed from the sixth flor (of some medical centre) BJÖRK BJÖRK, come up. They were laryngologysts and asked if they could check my pipes with some probe. They found everything ok". This may give you an idea, those laryngologists probably were convinced that they would find a mess.
Yeah! Highly athletic singing requires technique in order to maintain longevity. There are ways to make the sounds we want to make without hurting our vocal folds. -NYVC
She’s a really interesting artist. It would be really great if you guys actually analyze and teach the unusual techniques she uses. That’s kinda what I was expecting when I clicked on this video because you’re usually a vocal technique teaching channel 😆
