Thanks for posting your list. I see you're quite the Dio Sabbath fan as well!!!

Sabotage will always be top of my list. Of any albums. Ever.

It is a great release! I was so into the first 4 Sabbath albums as a kid, that I didn't really develop an appreciation for the next 4 Sabbath records till years later. Thanks for watching!

Heaven And Hell is my number 1 also - right from the first note, it just screams "bang your head"

Yes sir! Ozzy Sabbath is iconic, but Dio/Iommi is an unstoppable force.

Great ranking my friend. My only issue with the inclusion of the Dio albums is that they don’t have Tony’s signature sound. It’s in favor of the production and sound done in Quartz’s first album I think. More appropriation, but that’s not a bad thing. If anything, I see it as the creative high point of Ronnie’s career than if it were Tony’s. Volume 4 definitely earns it’s place in everybody’s list. Usually the top 3 or 4. Thanks for sharing, man!

Excellent points. I do agree that Ronnie's most consistent work is with Tony, although Rainbow Rising is my favorite Dio performance. Thanks for watching!

Most of us didn't give Tony Martin a fair shake. Probably because Sabbath was staggering at that point. Sabotage is my all-time favorite. The Dio stuff is epic. 1st two with Dio. You forgot the EVH song on Cross Purposes Evil Eye. 😈 13 was way too doom. Bill should have been on there. They really didn't record in the same studio because Tony was in England and Ozzy and Geezer were in L.A. Hmmmm. Not awesome. Don't know if Ian was writing songs about Ozzy and Sharon. Originally Born Again wasn't supposed to be a Sabbath album. Ian was gargling because he was supposed to be resting his voice to do another Gillan album, but he wound up with Sabbath. The production is shit because Ian blew out some of the speakers in the studio and no one noticed. They just recorded it. Seventh Star was supposed to be a solo album but the record company said no, it's Sabbath, just like with Born Again.

So Born Again was supposed to be a project of some sort? Interesting! Thanks for all the good info.

I love Dio era Sabbath. I also love Ozzy era Sabbath. But Martins era in my mind is underrated. Gillan was terrible. Also 13 should have had Bill Ward on drums.

I agree on all counts. I want to like the Gillan album more than I do, because I love Purple. I feel I need to revisit the Martin records ~ I didn't give them enough time. Thanks for watching!

Hey man! Was just watching conkys flippin adventures video of your T-shirt collection and am very interested. If you’re willing to part with them please let me know! Cheers

I do have them. 56 shirts, 14 of which are Iron Maiden shirts from 1981-1988. The other shirts range from 1978 - 1990. All shirts were purchased by me at the venue on the night of the show. Let me know what you're thinking and maybe we can agree on a number. Thanks!

Interesting lineup for Black Sabbath... was not a real Ozzy fan back in the day.

Unpopular opinion. The worst and most boring and phoned in album for me is 13. Next worst is TYR then Cross Purposes. I think Forbidden is underrated. Everyone complains about the rapping part and it only lasts all of ten seconds. The Dio albums are good but a little overrated. I’d have them about 6th and 7th. I agree with most of the rest.
    Favourite is Vol.4

I definitely have a soft spot for Ronnie - I think his most consistent work was with Iommi, although my all-time favorite album Ronnie appears on is Rainbow Rising. I will re-visit Forbidden, because I have to say I was definitely turned off by the rap and probably didn't give the album a fair shake. I really appreciate your comments!

God is Dead? For me, was a masterpiece.......Rankings were close to what I would have. #1 Master of Reality......I did like, Mob Rules and Heaven and Hell.....Here is something controversial.....RJD would have been a better fit if he was the original singer ....and you cut your hair......

    • @theemetallist6758
      @theemetallist6758  Před 2 lety

What a concept... Dio the original singer in Sabbath. If that had happened, I don't know if they would be as "legendary". Ozzy has a strange appeal to most people, including myself. In 1970 I don't think Ronnie had quite developed vocally into the powerhouse we all know and love now. Listen to some early Elf and see what you think.

Sabbath bloody Sabbath at 7 and Sabotage at 6???? Noooo. Sbs and Sabotage are the two best records they ever did, and noooo the first two records with Dio are NOT the two best Sabbath albums of all time. Please…
