Thank you! Was staring at the fuse panel under the dash for 15 mins until i watched your video
Glad you found it useful. You are very welcome.
you and me both! I've seen other videos that say if the fuse isn't bad under the dash then you need new sockets. my passenger front and middle were out.. because of this video they all work again!
Ur the man. Was looking into the inside fuses for an hour 😭
Glad you found the video helpful!
This worked great. I have a 2019 elantra and was wondering why my passenger side port wasn't working especially since my car only has 4000 miles. Saved me from taking it in to the shop
So glad to hear this. Cheers!
OMG....for the longest I could not understand why my 12V wasn't working. I followed this video to the tee and BAM!!!it now works. you just saved me time and money. Yep just subscribed..THANK YOU.. YOU ARE AWESOME!!!!
Glad I could help!

Absolutely amazing didn’t know I was waiting to get Machinic for week .

Thanks so much. I was able to identify the problem and change the burnt out fuse following your instructions. Now my car seats are heating again.
Marcia, thank you so much for your kind words and for the PayPal! You are actually the first person ever to send any money to my channel ever. I am very grateful to you for that and thank you very very much! 😄😄😄. I am glad that you found my videos useful and were able to fix your problem.
bro I owe you a beer if we ever should meet. I'm pretty good with cars but didn't realize there was one fuse under the dash for the "cigarette lighter" and one under the hood for power outlet. my left front and middle 12v sockets haven't worked since I got my 2018. I've looked at many videos that never mention the power outlet fuse. I checked that amd sure enough it was blown. I replaced it with the extra fuses in the hood for box now all of them work! thank you so much for this video!
Thank you so much for your comment. It makes my day and motivates me to make more videos like these. I am based out of Toronto, Canada. If you are ever here, send me a DM on Facebook or Instagram @virarautomotive. Drive safe 😃

Thanks for this. Saved my butt with a rental car where I needed to use my smart phone maps for an extended period.
You are very welcome Gordon 👍
Thanks. It worked for my 2017 Sonata Sport.
Glad to hear that you found it useful. It is always a nice things when there is commonality between different models from the same manufacturer.
Thank you so much! I had blown out both fuses trying an air fryer with a 400w inverter (I know dumb move) and never changed the fuses - cut to now where I’m boondocking and one of my tires has a slow-fast-leak (lol), so I bought a heavy duty inflator from Walmart in hopes I could use my 300w power station to fill up my tire…of course it did not work 🤦🏻♂️ now I’m stuck at a car wash place, spinning figuring out what am I going to do, I CZcamsd it and found your video which was extremely helpful even for my 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. I found a spare fuse and filled up my tire. It may not seem like much to others, but for someone not mechanically inclined at all or know much about vehicle fuses, I had no idea my car had spares. So, thank you kindly for posting this.
Thank you so much for sharing. Very happy to hear that you found the video helpful!

@@VirarAutomotive i just shared it with my friend who needed it too. We recently bought 2017 Elantra and were bummed to find out that the ports were not working. You literally saved us from a huge trouble.
Once again thank you.
Thanks buddy. Very happy to hear that. Good choice on getting the 2017 Elantra. I had it as my daily driver for 3 years, no real issues ever.
Thank u

Does the 2007 Elantra have a fuse box like in the video? What about replacement fuses withe the vehicle
Not sure about the 2007 Elantra. It should have a fuse box though like the one showed in this video. They don't change that much. Having never worked on a 2007 Elantra, I couldn't say with confidence. Sorry.
hello, can this same problem be used to fix the center console not turning on at all?? Heat and everything works except the power to the radio/screen and the outlets
It could be. Changing the fuse is the quickest way to check and fix for the problem
For 2017 Sonata, I have heard a lot of complaints about usb charging port does not have enough power to charge iphone. Can we use cigarette port with an adapter to charge phones?
Yup. You can do that. That is what I do. You can get one like this. It's powerful enough to charge phones quickly. Anker 24W Dual USB Car Charger, PowerDrive 2 www.amazon.com/dp/B00VH84L5E/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_-ck6EbAS48EJC
Thanks but what blows rhe fuses in so many vehicles?
Sometimes just plugging in a powerful device that takes a lot of power. Once a friend of mine used a 12V to 110V wall outlet adapter and tried using his 1500W tea kettle during camping and was surprised that it blew the fuse. haha.
I have a 2017 Santa Fe Sport. Neither of the cigarette sockets have power. Is it possible that both Fuses are bad? Only 25,000 miles on car. Is the Fuse the only problem it could be?
I would check out the fuses. It could just be a case of bad fuses. Are you sure you didn't plug in something too powerful into those outlets ?
I own a similar one, but with a diesel engine. I imported it from South Korea to Saudi Arabia
Does the Elantra use mini fuses?
It looked like standard size fuses, not mini fuses. If you blow a fuse, the car does have spare fuses in it to get you by till you can buy replacement fuses.
Please can you guide me for Sonata 2020
Sorry. I have never worked on a 2020 Sonata before, wouldn't do how to do this same fix on that car.
Hi I have a Hyundai Elantra 2013. my USB part doesn’t work anymore and the radio doesn’t light up, but it still works.
I am curious to know which fuse is it for my car for the USB port/what is the name of it??
My car unfortunately didn’t come with a manual because it was used when I brought it.
I’m desperate bc I normally listen to music from my phone😩I’m really hoping it’s not a wiring issue.
Hi,
I am not sure which fuse it is for the USB port specifically. Often for these cars the solution for the problem with the USB port/aux input is to replace the part. The part itself isn't too expensive and there are videos on CZcams that show you how to replace it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. :(
@@VirarAutomotive thank you! I will definitely check it out. you were helpful!
Hello friend, I changed the fuses of the two power cigarettes and they broke again, do you have any idea why that happens?
Hello. 2 things come to my end. 1) Wiring issue 2) you are plugging something too powerful (more than the outlet's capacity ) and that's causing the fuses to blow again.
Thanks bro, today I put new fuses and a new cable to charge the phone and the problem continues, I only have the phone charger connected, I think I will take the car to the dealer before the warranty expires, thanks again
I think that's a good idea. Make use of the warranty Julio! Good luck!
How do I make the outlet socket continuously run?
That involves doing some rewiring. Not sure how to do it. Sorry :(
I change but still didn't work of driver site what should I do please help ?
Try switching the bulb from the passenger side to the driver side fuse and see if thst fixes it. Let me if that works.
I checked the fuse on my car and it’s good. I changed the sockets to junkyard ones and wiring harness for it and it’s still the same. Any ideas? Thanks
Ohh, if the fuse replacement didn't't work then I was going to suggest the outlet but you have already swapped that. Not sure at this point what could be the issue. Sorry :(
@@VirarAutomotive thanks for the reply anyway man! Its a 2005 Toyota Avalon and it seems like if this is a known problem for this year 😅. But thanks man!
@@VirarAutomotive hey I was going to ask how would you change the outlet because I changed the fuse to a brand new and it started working for a day and then just stopped working so I dont think its the fuses anymore. Something but I don't know what or how to check for it.
1) Was there something in particular that you plugged in the power outlet that might have caused it to blow ? Something higher powered? Did both the outlets stop working ?
Just trying to see if you can maybe diagnose the issue without having to replace the outlet. I don't have a video on how to replace the outlet and I don't have access to this car anymore either to make a video on it. :(
@@VirarAutomotive Gotcha. Well yeah both of them don't work although I only got a new fuse for one of them.
Mine is going on and off like it’s a shortage??
Maybe try the other outlet and see if its the same issue, then the issue is with the 12V Adapter or the charging cable itself.
My passenger side will not hold. It blows within a few days.
Hmm. Are you charging anything big and powerful using it ? Something more than the rated voltage ? Like a tea kettle or something ?
@@VirarAutomotive cell phone only.
@@VirarAutomotive These few years of Hyundai caes all have electrical problems. I have to replace the lamps multiple times a year. The back lights are brown from being burnt from the lights that were installed by Hyundai. I assumed the 12v was an electrical problem. I've seen so many comments of peyote saying the same about their cars.
it is Hyundai Avante 2017
no ultra
Didn't work for my car
Do you have the 2017-2018 Elantra ?
If this didn't work, then unfortunately it could be something else that's wrong with the outlet itself. The blown fuse is the most common issue and it usually solves the problem.
I have a 2020
And I just bought the car last month
Ohh wow. That new eh. Manufacturer warranty for it is 3 years /60kms
