    Initial approach to 22L and then to 13L. We were forced to go around due to runway incursion.
    My first go around experience! Notice that the landing announcement was so late before touchdown! Well, this is why you don't say them so late! Amazing roar sound from the engines! And also really nice thrust reduction from those GE90s!
    Origin: Moscow Sheremetyevo
    Destination: New York JFK
    Aircraft: 77W
    Airline: Aeroflot
    Seat: 11A
    Engines: General Electric 90
    Delay: 1 hour, due to a person disembarking the aircraft, but arrived on time
    For re-uploading in compilations just ask in the comments or YT message.

      @VoraciousAvgeek  Před 8 lety +12

      GeekBoy832 at 2:50 the engine is clearly heard at full power. You are the only person out of 154 not acknowledging that full thrust was used in the process of this go around. No offense, I'm just trying to understand what makes you think this isn't full power.

    • @GeekBoyMN
      @GeekBoyMN Před 8 lety

      Perhaps it went up to near takeoff thrust, but that still is not full rated engine power.

    • @VoraciousAvgeek
      @VoraciousAvgeek  Před 8 lety +8

      GeekBoy832 well, maybe the engine did not reach full power, but that was definitely very high thrust, which is why the title says full power. No click bait intended.

    • @hatchetman29
      @hatchetman29 Před 7 lety +72

      Yes, see the other comments. Think of a car's RPM gauge and the redline. Some cars will allow you to rev the engine past redline for a brief period, or before hitting the rev limiter. Think of the beginning of redline as 100%. The pilot in this case probably manually throttled up, then he hit his TOGA switch (Takeoff/Go Around) which makes the autothrottle advance all the way up to provide a kind of "emergency power" that is past the red line. As you can see, they don't stay at that power setting for very long. Even if they had continued the climb, the power would've come back to something below the red line.

    • @smoshjkl
      @smoshjkl Před 7 lety +58

      Full G/A thrust may be used for usually no more than 10 min. Really allows the 777 to punch through the decrease in lift during a GA situation due to flap retraction. Initial G/A power was not enough to safely maintain climb gradient during flap retraction hence the application of maximum available power. Those GE90s can get a heavy T7 out of a sticky situation very quickly. Immense power.

    • @dismoptism5541
      @dismoptism5541 Před 5 lety +4

      I thought the same, does seem odd to be accelerating against deployed spoilers. Maybe they were just too high too fast too close and things became a bit hectic, as it does on approach, and they made the right call to abandon an unstable approach and go around. Never flown a real 777, only C172's 😔, but in flight sims at least they are very slick planes that tend overshoot speeds during decent in a clean config. Perhaps its true to the real plane as well? Though these guys would have been well dragged with flaps, gear and spoilers out. Must have had lots of excess speed to bleed off?

    I experienced one of these with Southwest Airlines, approaching KPBI. We were getting there and at least a quarter of a mile from the runway, then we full powered it and went straight over the airport terminal. Horray for more airplane time!

    It did get a bit intense up there, yet the landing was done very smoothly, quite a soft touch I saw, so the captain obviously knew what they were doing.

    Почему хлопать актерам можно. а пилотам нельзя? Вы в себе? Я сам никогда не хлопал, но всегда говорил спасибо на выходе из самолета, за то что хорошо поработали.
