I admit, I've ALWAYS chosen fire types first except for black and white I went with Snivy.
+Chris Sanders (csandreas) I have to admit, I hate most Pok'emon in the later generations but Snivy is the best Grass Starter in any game ever. The Grass starters are usually the least appealing of the three except for Snivy.
+Chris Sanders (csandreas) I think I always went went grass type pokemon. In the first pokemon, I abhorred squirtle, and I played with charmander, but I began to hate him later on, so I started over with bulbasaur and his leech seed became my fave attack.

Wait... the starter Pokemon are actually rare. And Oak doesn't usually give people Pokemon. He gave 2 Pokemon to 2 kids, one was his grandson and another was a neighbor kid he saw growing up since he was a baby... which is practically another grandson... You'd be lucky to get any starter Pokemon if you are actually in the Pokemon universe. The player character just happens to be one of those lucky few...

Nice skit. A part of me wondered if that professor was just hogging that Charmander.
Personally, I would pick Squirtle. He was my first starter in my first Pokemon game, Pokemon Blue Version. Although, if a Pokemon journey were to be similar to the anime, I would start with Squirtle but try to catch each of the other starters.
For Johto, I would try to get Cyndaquil and Totodile while having a hard time picking between the two for a potential starter. For Hoenn and Sinnoh, each of the starters are great in their own way. I think that I prefer Swampert/Mudkip and Torterra/Turtwig from their respective regions. For Unova, I would pick Snivy. For Kalos, I would pick Froakie while trying to catch a Fennekin and a Bulletproof Chespin.
Charizard doesn't actually say its own name, so that plushy doesn't make any sense.
+Jokerz Wild All Pok'emon can only say their own name... except for the ones that actually speak English like Team Rocket's Meowth.
+RialVestro thats anime only in the actual canon the only pokemon to say its own name is pikachu
The Mighty Tornadus The Anime is actual canon. :P Also, if you're going by the games, Pikachu wasn't even able to say his own name in Red or Blue. That was only added in for Yellow.
RialVestro the anime is a separate dimension lol, I don't think you have played any of the games in the infinity dimension ( also known as gen 6) because pikachu's can say their name there
The Mighty Tornadus No idea what you're talking about. The last Pok'emon game I played was Ruby back in Gen 3. Haven't touched a Pok'emon game since then.
