This is just crazy...started in the Majors about a month ago and already has 39 RBI's and 18 HR's. Doesn't even make sense.
Robert Ciabattoni imagine if he played during the start of season. Stanton wouldn't even be leading in major league homeruns.
J Mack idk. I mean you see what happened to judge. He didn’t hit a hr for a while after the hr derby. He’s on a hot streak rn and idk if he can keep that up.
Max Baxley yeah true true good point.
Hoskins has a Chase utley approach and swing with Ryan Howard's power lol
fordgtrocks1579 if the phillies can just find some starting pitching, imagine Hoskins with Williams, Alfaro, Crawford, Joseph and Franco if they are all performing at peak potential.
Matt J Right now, starting pitching is great. The problem is the bullpen and Tommy Hunter
Lol
@@nachocheez9690 bullpen problem still hasn’t changed
@@nateinspace5265 it's garbage
Not a fluke. Has such a smooth motion when he swings. And it's the same every time. He can hit the breaking ball just as well as he can hit a 100mph fastball.
Dankd82 - And he’s done this at every level
You should've saw him up here in the Lehigh Valley. He crushes them so hard that they are in the parking lot behind the stadium. Wait till Dylan Couzins comes up to the Phillies. Dylan and Hoskins are called The BASH Brothers
Couzins has insane power but he lacks discipline in the box. Strikes out way too much. If he can fix that, then him and Hoskins will be a power house.
I've seen his lack of discipline in the Triple A. He needs to fix it.
@@Hakuna65Matata I watched Hoskins and Cozens down in Reading and seeing them just crush the ball out of that park was amazing.
This kid is SPECIAL. Bryce and Rhys going to go off
Finally with some good bats around him, his avg will raise as well as his HR's. I say he hits 40+ this coming season with a .280 BA
SmithN' Wesson well this didn’t age well
If we play this year Rhys will pick it up I feel
Trevor Hoadley so far he’s been amazing 👍
@@nysportsfan31 well you’re comment also didn’t age well😂
Every time he hits another home run I watch him hit all of them. By the end of next year it will take an hour watch them all. Go phills 🔔🔔!
Jack Kennedy well this age well
Just by the sound of his name I feel like hes gonna be something special
This guy absolutely destroys pitchers' mistakes. Don't hang an off-speed pitch to this guy. But he also destroys low pitches--very unusual for a right-handed hitter.
He gets around on pitches so well. Hits almost everything to LF. His mechanics and timing and bat speed are impressive.
so amazing. gonna be the phillies home run leader and hes been in the league for little over a month.
Would've loved to see him perform at the homerun derby this yr.
He almost was their home run leader last year... in 34 games lamoooo
8:24 That was a 100 mph pitch he discarded into center field!
let's goooooo Phillies
today was Bryce Harper's debut and Hoskins smashed the longest Homer of the day right after Harper's first walk...he is going to have Monster #'s protecting/ or being protected by Harper....
Those two can only help each other. Pitchers will not look forward to that part of the lineup. No cakewalk there!
Well here we are, at the end of June 2018 and he has hit 14 so far. Quickest Phillie ever to reach 30HRs. Even better than Ryan Howard and Chuck Klein. The guy is a natural.
8:06 the look on stantons face says it all
Wonder what the stats would look like if he was here all year
85 homers 250 rbi's lol
It's hard to say. Look at story. Dude was on pace to probably hit 40+ bombs rookie year but pitchers adjusted, now he's no where near. Joc pederson too, had 25 bombs first half, less then half after.
The mid-season break really changes the pace for a lot of players, but that being said he looked like a 50+ type of player.
Thank you Rhys ❤💙
Side skip and helmet tap every time across homeplate
Calling it now in 3-5 years hes going to be considered the greatest hitter of this generation. Its unreal. Daniel murphy, mike trout, stanton all of them going to get tossed aside. His mechanics and the experience he is gaining now going to push him past those big names.
He'll be called the greatest hitter of any generation. If he keeps this up, who's better in other generations?
neetrab tbh thats a good point. But in previous generations you had griffey, hank aaron, pete rose, ty cobb, babe ruth those are some of the best hitters that ever played the game he's on pace for passing all of them up.
Too bad in baseball you can be good 1 year, then the next you can be absolute garbage. It's one of those sports where just having a few months off can totally change your mental approach at the plate. He might have a few good years, but his skill will drop off tremendously and he'll just be "another guy" out there. Especially once pitchers study him more. He'll be exposed.
Jim Brown yeah u got a point hitting a baseball to this day is the hardest thing to do in sports so what he doing is amazing but if he keep the consistency and approach he will pass a lot of those guys I named. He really have no reason to change his approach or mechanics he is spot on with both.
He needs more like 18 to be on their levels, or even be considered. Pulling for power is can make your swing long. He needs to take more to right and then maybe we start talking about trout and Stanton level
This guy is good. Hope he can keep it up
Not a hater, but there is literally a 0% chance of him keeping this up for over half a season or so.
Ultimate Potato. You really are a potato, aren't you? lol Are you the same potato that said "there is literally 0% chance he will hit 18 homers in 34 games. It's impossible!"
What on Earth are you talking about? I literally didn't know about this guy more than three weeks ago.
Ultimate Potato that's because he was in the minors. Pretty sure people know who he is now
He didn't 😂🤣😂🤣
I wish the SFS Giants had this guy, as he'd be tied for the team lead in HR's right now. Sick!
My best friend played with him Rhys at Sac State. He said he would park balls on top of the parking garage in left field. If you’ve ever been to sac state you know that’s a bomb!!!
So much love for Rhys
This combined with his performance the last few years. He's gonna have a great career
This has been unreal.
Boy can hit!! 🔥
Has the swing of Mike scmight.dont let him go
I saw the one at 3:07 in person. The pitch before, I turned to my friend and said "$10 says he hits a home run in this game"
I remember. I was sitting right behind you guys. Trouble is, you said that for the previous 11 batters as well. What an annoying fucktard . Shut up and watch the fkg game.
3:30 that lowkey dab haha
Classic Rhys Hoskins At His Best LOL
So glad we got this stud reminds me of Howard but even better
2018 NL ROY
Amazing love
This upcoming season should be special for Hoskins. This will be his first full season to start breaking the home run record! Yes!
Leon612 he sure is 😘😊
1:20 and 3:38 were the most impressive Homers factor the location of the pitch he went and got that down and inside and the other down and down the middle
Yankees fan here
A lot of respect for this kid
Amazing 😍
Me watching this in 2022 playoffs: YES
What's really impressive is that often times he's hitting pitches which are tough to hit--not mistakes or in the "wheelhouse"
dropthumb2 the lower the pitch the easier it is to get backspin and creat lift
It's amazing to see a power hitter with as good of an eye as Rhys has, instead of striking out a lot
His potential is frightening
i really wish he would do something like this again right now
Can this guy be this guy?
Let go Hoskins next year about 9 more home runs
Future hall of fame for sure
We need him on one of these streaks right now
I was there when he hit his first two mlb homeruns
Best swing in baseball
Could’ve used this production in the WS.
lets just forget that no one was really doing much hitting wise because of the astros pitching being as good as it is
Hoskins is a 🐐 man is straight fire 🔥🔥🔥
8:45 - He's learned it the hard way.
Dominic Brown 2.0
More like BEAST Hoskins !
Dam
He's Philly.
Would love to see this after the All star break. (Not that he hasn’t been hitting dingers.. “20)
I thought he was going to be the next Nike trout but his stats went down unfortunately
Future mvp
In your dreams no way is his kid a nvp I told people from the very first time he came into the league he was going to be a bum
@@edwardcarroll8206 and he ain’t
@@edwardcarroll8206 he has never had an ops+ bellow 110 (100 is average for a position)
it is absolutely insane how late tom mccarthy realizes the ball is gone
Can't wait for baseball first eaglesssss now Philly's then flyer's yessss don't hate people
his entire career has been made up of him going on stretches like this where he carries the team and the rest of the time he walks a lot and does nothing else
The bandbox
Fuck's your problem?
Shove your bandbox
He might be the next Mike Trout
Jason Clark This didn’t age well at all
It’s gonna get to the point where the league will figure him out and he will be an average 1B within 2 years
Then he played 16 more games and didn't have a one homer.
I also hope he never used steroids
Why in the world would he change his swing, makes no sense.
and when I go to the philles I going to hit 50 home runs in 80 games
Fuckface. You couldn't hit 50 chocolates in a bag of M&Ms.
I think this entire comment section proves that you need to chill with the anointing oils. Better to take a let's wait and see approach. He is starting to turn into Dave Kingman - power, but nothing else. His defense is atrocious as well. I hope he can turn it around because i do like him, but his decline at the plate is compelling.
Hoskins had a good month now this fool cant even hit a homerun in batting practice smh
Chris Shelton on steroids
I told you people that he is a bum you all got all excited when he did this I told you he's a bum he is not the player you think he's going to be and I was right right you hear me right he's bending 220 he's a bum get rid of them
Bro fym he’s a bum bros one of the best power hitters in the league
Well well well edward carroll
@@joelembiidisthegoat3417 w name btw
You sound like you have the IQ of a 7 year old
He did not hit 85 homers in 2018
