Worked on a house last year where the builder did NOT do a termite pretreatment on the soil. It was an absolute nightmare. Drywall, studs, flooring...termites chomped on everything. The house was built on a lake with a high water table and high sand content so according to the bug guys, the termites were already dominate and didn't have far to go for the buffet. How this slips by is crazy. Glad you guys did it right.

Maybe I'm missing something here. The dirt was treated and now you're going to disturb it and knock off high spots. It seems to me you'll be removing the termite protection from that area. I would think it would be better for the termite treatment to be applied after all soil work is done.

    • @stephensaines7100

All do it yourself. It's basically Borax which keeps the termites away. Highly recommended where I live in So Cal with dry wood termites issues. Keep up the good work.

Thought of a couple of more things: As for the second termite treatment, no need to do any drilling of your new slab like for a porch or around pipes, just dig the ditch where that extension of the slab will go. Drilling is only for existing slabs. Also, you may want to consider getting some help to frame the structure up to the point of getting the roof on and maybe sheathing. It seems crazy to me to see wood on a job site getting wet for days before its assembled and then in place until the roof is on. Especially OSB flooring. You guys can make plenty of finish carpentry videos of the inside. Hang in there, love you guy's attitude and can-do spirit.
