Nice dances despite discarding an integral element in Filipino folk dances.
Babies enjoy playing with their Moms the arimunding-munding hand-dance. It's so disgusting that a renowned dance group discarded the GRACEFUL ARIMUNDING-MUNDING HAND-DANCE and exchanged it with mere WAVING OR POINTING-UP HANDS (ugh!) which is not graceful at all. And what is additionally shocking is: other dance groups imitated it and similarly are now using either the waving hands or pointing-up hands for dancing. Can we use our brains when we make changes, instead of be like unthinking zombies? PLEASE, PLEASE BRING BACK the graceful arimunding-munding hand-dance because it is an INTEGRAL PART OF THE ORIGINAL FILIPINO FOLK DANCES, besides being much, much more graceful than mere pointing up or waving.

It is because our culture is Hispanic like Latin Americans. There would be no Filipino if there are no Spanish side. Spanish build our culture.

it is a Philippine folk dance the reason behind the similarity of the one in Mexico and the Philippines is because the Spaniards colonized the Philippines for 300 years that is why they pass their culture to us and it became OUR culture also . it is a very long story but basically Malagueña is Philippine folk dance also known as Jota Malagueña. they also pass their language you know .

The song is written from a Mexicano to an Española.. the Philippines has nothing to do with this latin love song. colonization is used to loosely here. Spain and Mexico used phillipines as a port, thats it. mexico was a new spanish territory and new spanish citizens where mixing was encouraged. this is not what happened in the phillipines. mixing was not encouraged, the language was not taught, the baptismal names filipinos took on were brought to end by spanish decree. so it is today, mexico is a latin country with hispanics that speak spanish.. philippines is an asian country with asians that speak tagalog. interesting that phillipines would want a culture that does not want them.

We fight for our freedom from those who tried to steal our country OUR LAND do some research properly first before you state something that you are ignorant about . YES we are Asian and we love being Asian. But can you blame us if we share the same culture as the Mexicans ? Blame those bastard Spaniards who try to steal our country from us . And by the way they name our country PHILIPPINES to honor the king Spain King PHILIP . Or you want me to teach you the history of the Philippines for you to understand properly .
