CARVER'S TIP: Find the Bottom of Irregular Chips

- It's important when chip carving to know how deep you need the knife to be at each point of a cut, but irregularly shaped chips can be tricky to know where the bottom will be. This tip gives a simple solution to figure out ahead of time what the topography will look like inside each chip before you carve it.

All of the wood I carve on is basswood.
