The second strap is the belly band ,it would be better if you knew all the names of the harness parts and if you put it on in the correct safe order ,that is an ordinary exercise cart not a sulky.

What size do you get my pony is about the same size as yours 11 hands

The second girth isn't a back up just in case something happens to the first one, it's to prevent the shafts to move up when you stop. If you wouldn't have that second girth you would be in big trouble. The bridle is the last to put on the pony, first the rest of the harness, then the bridle, then the lines/reins. Now you have to pull what you call the breast plate, all over the bridle with the blinkers. Also the breeches are too low, now when you have an emergency stop it can push into the hind legs of the pony and it's possible he'll be almost forced to sit down. Like being kicked in the back side of your knees. I always wonder why people make videos like this and then do everything wrong.
