Which is your personal “Forever” Pen?
I'm broke so it's Kakuno
Nothing is forever. You drop it once and it goes to oblivion. Such expensive pens are meant to boost your ego.
Pilot custom 823 amber, Waterman Carene gunmetal, Nakaya Neo Standard Toki Tamenuri, Pelikan M800 Brown Tortoise
Montblanc Ferrari !
havent acquired one yet, but Montblanc 146 in platinum with a medium nib. Might be boring compared to others, but I love the simple and classic lines, and a medium nib is just right 👌🏼
a very exciting selection, there are a few must haves😍
Pilot Custom 823, Amber, medium nib by far the most perfect writer I own.
Mont Blanc 149, beautiful but can be finicky.
Platinium 3776, great basic writer.
Sheaffer Legacy 1, broad nib, a gusher !!
Vintage Parker 51. It always writes.
I spent more than 15,000$ to find out that the 823 is all that I need
Great video!! 😁😁😁😁
I like Waterman Carene and Caran d'Ache Leman.
I have a question. What is the name of your mint pen on the notebook? let me know!
Thanks for sharing your opinion.
My pen is a Graf von Faber-Castell Pen of the Year 2022 Aztecs
Wow..I have both..the Carene Black Sea and Caran D'ache Ecridor
Excellent guidance Samuel, thank you. I feel this way because I'm beginning a collection and still flirting with several.
Thank you Gihan!
Man am so glad youtube recommended me your channel.
Thank you so much! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Most writing instruments are made with durable materials like ABS plastic, carbon fiber, stainless steel, bronze, brass, and titanium. Further, if left in hard pen cases, even thick leather, adds to their protection from the elements, particularly away from UV light. Durabilty has nothing to do with artistry, nor price.
Hi Samuel, great selection… I would add: LAMY2000, PELIKAN M1000, Parker Duofold. Superclassic pieces.
My lamy2000 fine nib is always with me… the best pen for taking quick notes.
Thank you so much for sharing yours!
Great Selection! I would add the Pelikan Souverän Stresemann! Thx
Great Addition indeed!
I have 50% on your list. Some other ones not on your list are: Sailor KOP Ebonite, Pelikan M1000, Yard-o-Led Viceroy Grand. My top pen is the Dorsal Fin 2, mine is Heki-tamenuri. I always enjoy your videos and I’m digging the Fabre-Castell lately. Be well.
You’re a man of great taste!
@@SamuelNaldi thanks. As are you, Samuel.
It seems like you left out a pen called the Pelikan M1000 which is a grail pen I like. Currently, it really sucks that Amazon doesn’t sell the Pilot Custom Urushi instead they got the cheaper version which is the Pilot Custom 845 in stock.
I left it out on purpose as i’m not sure the direction Pelikan as a brand and company will go and therefore i cannot guarantee for its future.
Great video, Samuel! I don’t own any of those. The closest I’ve come is owning an Otto Hutt design 07. Thank you for this one! Take care!
Design07 is for a Lifetime too! For sure!
Good Overview. Thank You.
Glad you liked these
Montblanc Egyptomania which I bought about 3 months ago.
Wonderful piece indeed!
The lamy 2000 is the besst, but my personal pen is Sailor pro gear love this pen especially the 21k nin
Thanks for sharing ♥️
Nothing screams "class" like a S.T. Dupont Classic...
Need an urushi in my life :D
😎
While I appreciate all 10 of the pens featured - the clear winner is the Montegrappa 1930 . Everything about it is luxurious (gold nib , celluloid body, ebonite feed, noble metal accents and grip section
All the other pens will cut corners material wise in one of these areas
Thanks for sharing also here! 🙏🏼
I owned the homo sapiens lava color, I like the lava stone very much especially I feel it very special when my hand was totally in very cold condition. The warm of the lava stone was so fantastic.
Agreed! 👍🏼
all metal pens are my 4ever pens.
I have a montblanc 149 that I need a nib for it’s a west germany on cap where could I find the nib cause times are tough
That’s definitely one you need to find a nib for 😎
Yeah it has a nib but tipping completely gone
I was hoping you could help me
@@rubenbajapantydj unfortunately i don’t have any West Germany Nibs and Montblanc doesn’t sell the nibs directly. The best thing is to show the pen in a Montblanc Boutique and ask if they can help with it, or try to find a Nib on eBay from that Era and then it will be easy to mount it on the section…
Thank you I don’t care what era nib from I just loved writing with the pen
Interesting selection.
It depends on what the pen is being used for.
The Urushi lacquer would wear terribly if the pen was being used as an everyday writer.
Here is my selection FWIW.
Out and about on holidays and trips to Football or whatever. a Lamy Al-Star, Lamy 2000.
Seriously long writing sessions such as note taking in talks, Court Cases etc needs a Thor pen. You can hammer away with a 'Thor' pen all day and it takes the punishment. Some Thor pens: Gravitas, Lamy Studio, Parker Duofold Centennial (from 1990), Diplomat Excellence A2, Pelican 800/805. TWSBI Vac 700.
For relaxed writing, or signing contracts etc: Onoto, Conway Stewart, Aurora Opima, Sailor Realo, Pilot Custom 823.
Mont Blanc are too overpriced to find a place in this house I'm afraid. They are the Rolex of the pen world. Heavily marketed fairly decent, but there are Swiss Watches which are better made and cheaper. There are so many Montblanc users in the City (London) they smack of lack of imagination.
Thanks for the video. Great stuff.
Thank you so much for your great feedback Kevin
How is the pilot custom 845? Any common problem?
Great writer, great ink flow. Recommended Fountain Pen!
@@SamuelNaldi how does it compare with the 823 or 743 for almost 2X the price?
@@stig585 it’s an Urushi pen with multiple layers of lacquering. You’re not just buying a Fountain Pen, you’re buying a piece of japanese Art.
@@SamuelNaldi what can you tell me about the writing comparison between them?
Mont Blanc after sales service might be good in Europe but in Australia it is pathetic, so buyers should consider Pilot, Sailor or Platinum for a better after sales experience. I would never purchase a Mont Blanc again simply on the basis of after sales service.
I’m really sorry to hear and hope they can improve this
1. That's a superb list of gorgeous pens. Hard to pick between them.
2. There are two of my pens that feel like they will last a lifetime. The first is the Wing Sung 765, with an aluminum body and an unusual, very thick, folded nib that is so very sturdy. The second is the Kaweco Steel Sport, which has a nice, thick steel body.
Thank you for sharing Ichiro!
For me it is montblank149...
But I have a question...
Where are u.s made fountain pens? 😁
It's European bios😁
I don’t think there are any actual US Made Pens anymore
Great energy and presentation. However, I am one of those people who could do without background music; it is a distraction to me. :)
Thanks very much for sharing. We try to adjust it in a way that it doesn’t bother.
Thank you for your kind reply!
While there’s no surprise that these pens which “cost our lifetime savings last our lifetime”, I’m surprised by many $15-20 metal pens (from a ‘No prize for guessing’ country) I bought recently.. These are sturdy, decent writers, look gorgeous while not breaking our banks and I’m pretty sure these last a lifetime !
Nothing is going to happen to my x750.
@@ichirofakename You'd be more concerned about your table if you drop it
Ok, still, we’re talking here about other kind of pens.
Pilot repair service in EU is crap, I sold all of my pilot pens because of that.
I’m sorry to hear that!
for me the besr pen is Montblanc 145 (Chopin) so called Classique.
Great pieces indeed.
S.T. Dupont offers terrible after sales service, if they react to complaints at all. 45 years ago I bought a ST Dupont classique, I bought a few since, but after buying a ST Dupont Tournaire Peking, I will never buy another. It's nib is mediocre, poorly set into the pen and for many thousands of dollars one of the worst pens I ever owned. I know this is not a smart advertisement, but if you don't believe me, I'm happy to part with it for 75 percent of what I payed.
Thanks for sharing your experience and opinion
Most grotesque, superficial and snubbish piece of pen advertising I have seen, yet. Proof that those are great pens, though: being discussed by a white and light grey clown didn’t affect their appeal one bit.
Thanks for your unwanted opinion about myself. Thanks god i don’t rely my business on cheap people like yourself 😉🙏🏼
For me, it’s Otto Hutt 08 (I do not own many of the pens shown) but I just love that pen. Again I couldn’t take my eyes away from the turquoise finial of POTY2022🥰🫠
😍😍😍
